Azure Striker Gunvolt (PC)

I actually played it before on the 3DS, but gave up on the final boss. But I don't like leaving games unfinished, so I did a double dip and bought it on Steam, as I am much more comfortable with Keyboard over the 3DS.

Anyway, this time I finished it for real (true ending as well)

The thing is about this game...is that it's a weird one, I don't think I ever played a game like this -
It's pretty meh if you play it casually, as most stages are bland and has a low enemy variety. You can pretty much rush through the stages with the ring that gives you the ability to avoid damage if you have "electricity" not on cooldown, and then the stages are a breeze
But the game can be super fun if you try to S+ rank it. The basic gameplay of tagging and destroying robots and speedrunning the stages is satisfiying. If you are one of those elite gamers that are willing to replay a level 100 times until you perfect it, this is the game for you.

Unfortunately I can't bother with this. 100%ing this game can take hunderds of hours of practice. Most achievements require you to S+ a stage. Then there is a achievement to get all other achievements...yeah, I am not doing this

But oh well, it was fine overall

Like the game before it, it's ok. It does some stuff better than the original, some stuff worse. It felt shorter too.
But Iliked the small planets, it made the game pacing feel better
Counter system is also an improvement
I will probably play another game in the series if there will ever be one

There are DLC characters to buy like Shantae and Shovel Knight but that means playing the game again and I don't really want to
Also one achievement requires playing it in hard mode so I won't bother..and the other one I miss is a boss rush and I beat all of it besides one boss that I tried for an hour and it's impossible so I give up

Worlds can't describe just how much better MGB is. Like, years apart. This game is great!
They improved the level design by a lot. Enemy variety exists, bossess are still good, there are now collectibles and character customization. It's really really fun!
I went for the achievements only, there are 6 more DLC characters and in order to really 100% this game it would require having a 100% save file with each of them, and each playthrough requires you to replay a stage at least 3 times...so as much as I liked this game, enough is enough!

I recommend it. Not many people played this and I can tell by the lack of discussion/videoes on the Internet. This is a hidden gem and if you want some more Mega Man type game, this is as good as it gets

Mighty Gunvolt (PC)

For me, the game is mostly known as "the game people praised that it was ironic how a cheap/free short spinoff game is better than the game it was trying to promote"
For years I thought it was because this game is actually good and people wanted to praise it. Sadly, it's not. Those people were just mocking Mighty No 9. And I am sad to say that although Mighty No 9 was not a good game, this game is fucking garbage and even worse than it in every way.

Levels are generic and simple. Even levels with gimmicks are barely utilized. Enemy variety is low. No powerups or things to collect. Every character has a special attack and none of them worth using. At least the bosses were good (feels like this is Inti Creates best department)

The DLC stages are a bit better but still mediocre
And they have 2 of the hardest and most bullshit boss fights I have seen recently. And no way to make those fights easier (no special weapons, sub tanks and the like) so it's pretty much just "git gud" but it feels like more bullshit than skill

I also had some weird bug that my keyboard is getting randomally frozen and I have to unplug it and connect again. Happened like 30 times in those 5 hours I played. so that added even more for my hatred towards this game

So overall I did not enjoy this. Completed all 9 levels with all 3 characters but suffered almost every minute in it. 2/10 game at best

I just hope Burst is better

Shantae and the Seven Sirens (PC)

Was decent. Standard Shantae quality. Felt more like a Metroidvania this time around which is a good thing. Suffers a lot from long load times between big areas (something like 15 seconds) which doesn't sound like a lot on paper, but when you consider that this is just a 2D platformer, meant to be beaten fast and jump a lot from location to location, those loading times are painful and easily take off 2 points from the final score

Beat it 100% (and all cards) but did not go for all achievements. Can't be bothered with New Game Plus or speedruns

That was..surprisingly good
The game started off very very boring, generic enemies and level design, but as you progress you get more abilities, more enemy variety and better level design, not to mention the mid game twist that makes it so much better
I don't recall any other game that started off so slow and bad and yet turned into such a fine game afterwards, maybe only Majora's Mask or something. I usually find being able to judge a game by it's first hour. But in this case..it just kept getting better and better

Oh fuck yes finally. This took longer than anything else in the DLC by farrrrr
Like 30 hours or something because I had to train a lot of Pokemon since I didn't have any BR Pokemon (they are still in Gen 7 I refuse to transfer them)
What I did was breed and EV train ever Gen 8 Pokemon and then chose from them
Only exceptions were - Silvally which I used for EVERY, Gardevoir which was my only BR and I did this before EV training the rest, Salazzle which I used for the Poison type fights (since there is only one Poison type in Gen 8 besides Eternatus which can't be used). I could use G Slowbro but fuck him

Anyway, my teams were-
Silvally in every team (besides Psychic and Fairy, which my Gardevoir carried)+
Normal - Dubwool, Obstagoon
Fire - Cinderace, Centiskorch
Water - Inteleon, Drednaw
Electric - Boltund, Toxtricity
Grass - Rillaboom, Flapple
Ice - Mr Rime, Frosmoth
Fighting - Sirfetch'd, Falinks

Well the tech giants are basically all due to report earnings today. I think the earnings are going to show that big tech isn't in recession at all. If they are, we could see the bloodbath you're looking for tomorrow.

Plenty of people lost money due to panic selling because of that tweet. This is not funny. You just don't do something like that.

Yeah, the stock market is a hard game. There's a reason 10% a year is considered an excellent long run return. Most people don't even achieve that.

I am pretty sure that people that invested for 5 years on diverse stocks are still in the red
I mean, if you invested in tech stocks like Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, AMD etc you are probably swimming in cash
But if you invested in travel, oil, real estate stocks as well...5 years of progress crashed down in just 2 months

I have no idea if something like that happened before in Wall Street...
I mean, it's a bubble. And there plenty of bubbles. And all of them exploded sooner or later, we all know that.
But Tesla is not a regular bubble. It isn't a cannabis stock. It isn't a meme stock like "haha let's go to the space choo choo" SPCE, it isn't a coronavirus vaccine stock or anything...
It's a real company. With real products. Run by one of the richest people in the world.
It isn't immune because no stock is. But I have a feeling they won't let it crash and burn so easily.

But who knows. A bad delivery report or a financial report that do not meet expectations might crash the stock hard.
I invested in Tesla about a year ago (when they had a reasonable price) and it tanked 17% in one day because of a terrible report. it was painful.
Imagine something like that happening at THIS price...

Only to find out I actually had just 500 because I chickened out on it on Friday (sorry I don't really remember what I did in Friday..turns out I also bought one share of Amazon...)
Fantastic day, could have been better, but I like "Friday Nanis" more than "Monday Nanis" because what I bought on Friday were logical purchases and not made by greed (putting so much money on a leveraged stock is risky, so 500 dollars on TQQQ is much smarter than 3000, even though it's painful to admit this after today..)

Years ago I wanted to make every Pokemon "Battle Ready" in Pokemon Emerald
Well, they didn't have perfect IVs or anything because it was hella hard to do back then, but they were EV trained with the right nature and leveled up to level 100
Surely they became obsolete with Gen IV and the Physical/Special split and much better movepools (I mean, most Pokemon had Toxic because their movepool sucked..) but still!
Anyway it wasn't as bad as it sounds because it was played on a emulator with turbo (no cheats) but it was still pretty bad...took weeks

And even more years ago I played Fifa 99 and wanted to "beat every team with every team"
I started with Aalst, Belgium (the first team in alphabet order in the game) and after hours and hours of playing I realized how impossible the task is and gave up

I'm sure people have seen this, but this is super useful. This bubble pattern happens over and over and over when dealing with companies that have no earnings or very little in earnings at the present, but tremendous future growth opportunity.

It's just that both games had some extreme similarities regarding its reception.

They got an extremely bad reputation prior to their release.
Both games got praised by critics and review-bombed by fans.
Both aren't entirely divisive, since there are people still enjoying both games.
