The only way I'd play a beat'em up with that much strategy is if you made it a cross between Streets of Rage and the RPG mechanics of something like Castlevania.

It's like fancy chess. With a fucking awesome story (most of the time) to keep you going.

The best JRPGs find a way to include some engaging puzzles and even platforming gameplay between battles. Also, towns, exploration, etc.

In the Chrono Cross remake, if they would speed up combat or maybe remove the transition time, I'm all game. I never did finish it because the game was so slow, but I loved the environments, music, and to some extent even the story was fun and kind of compelling. But the battles. UGH. The battles...

Eh, they were still way dangerous after that (I don't like to use power armor, personally. Felt like a waste of time and resources).

But, I agree that particular battle/fight could have and should have been introduced way later. It was very out of place and it was a poor attempt at hyping up what their shiny new power armor can do (which kind of ignores canon to do so). The whole thing as epic as they tried to sell it in game with the atmosphere and npcs dying left and right was just jarring more than "omg, I get to be a bad ass." It left a ridiculously bad taste in my mouth.

Both are basically walking simulators, but both had very good stories imo. It's similar to Gone Home, but it's segmented into like 7 or 8 unique parts, so it's not just like walk here, click this, listen, etc.

Idk I guess it depends on what kinds of games you like also. I play a ton of indies.

Got it. I don't mind the walking simulators when the story or atmosphere is compelling. When I have more time, I will definitely sink my teeth in if it's 7 or 8 parts.

I would applaud if I hadn't already pissed all over the topic.

T2 might be the more popular "classic" but in absolutely no way was it a better movie than the first Terminator.

Can you argue that it does certain key things a little better like a couple of action scenes and special effects? Sure.

But a better movie altogether? Hell. Fucking. No.

T1 is more thought out, more tense (in general), less insulting to the audience, better acted out, and I would even argue better edited in terms of scene to scene transitions than anything else produced in the franchise or series as a whole. Fuck outta here with that T2 is better nonsense.

To be fair though: T2 is still a fun movie that's a great ride in general. A better follow-up, I don't think you could have ever expected considering the direction hollywood was starting to move in.

The answer to this depends on the game.

If I'm on the Oregon Trail, it's the one that looks less like dysentery.

If I'm in Silent Hill, the one that leads the fuck away from Pyramid shaped things in the distance.
