I used to be avid and got to around 1700ish on like Yahoo.com

I actually got back into chess.com a bit recently. I'm still ok but definitely have lost quite a few steps since I lose to 1000ish ranked people often. I get the theory ok but if it's not a long form game I make dumb moves too often.

Funny thing is I agree the Zelda Shield would absolutely belong here

But to me the Master Sword is just a generic sword. I have trouble envisioning it on a Mount Rushmore because it would be like "oh it's a sword"

Batman TAS is good too

If you're saying the writing of Batman TAS is on some kind of different level from X-Men I would argue hard with you on that and would actually say X-Men's is generally better, but I'm not gonna cast shade on Batman to be clear. It's really good.

Like there are a LOT of old shows from the 80s/90s era that I would agree with watching in that kinda way. Power Rangers season 1 is stupid as hell but kinda enjoyable in a silly nostalgic way. Early seasons of the Ninja Turtles, the Super Mario Bros Super Show, hell like He-man, there are tons.

X-Men just ain't one of those shows though. Writing is legitimately pretty compelling for a lot of the episodes/arcs. I'd probably be turned off by watching it with people making fun of it constantly.

It has over the top silly moments like covered in scorpions but like.

It's legitimately good for a LOT of it. If you're watching it 100% ironically you arguably aren't giving it a chance and are watching it with a group of people that just gets their jollies out of making fun of stuff-- a group of edgelords probably.

This SHOULD be able to be good. The source material is super good for a fighting game

To be clear I'm not sold by the hype vid 100%. But it sold me about as well as it can.

What the trailer gave me is this
- Knowing the VA will be good
- The animation is good enough and not totally restyled so it feels like a worthy successor
- The tone looks consistent with the original which is good

So like, if all I wanted was more of the old X-Men series, and, to be clear that is what I wanted, this looks like it'll do that pretty well. Will it? Time will tell, but I'm pretty hopeful.

Well it was just one line he might sound fine in the thing overall.

And what's wild is google tells me that it's actually the opposite. Wolverine IS the same guy and the guy who has voiced Cyclops forever is not (RIP Norman Spencer)

So I guess I have a lot of faith in the VA casting now

I'm actually pretty hype for this-- rewatched the original a few years ago and it held up, but I feel like the Wolverine voice isn't right

(Cyclops however is spot on to the point where I would believe it's the exact same VA)

I actually thought Madame Web looked OK but was doomed to failure because it's a terrible title

I think this is a good mix and 3 out of the four are locks. Mysterio can kinda be any of the lower level guys like Shocker or Rhino or Vulture but I like him the most by far so gotta rep my boy.

This is not a move he would want to make as either alignment given the follow up activity but outside factors make me think scum

Thinking Lea is almost certainly scum and Ulti is almost certainly town is a hard thought process to reconcile if you're being internally consistent because they are linked in some ways.
