You guys are kinda saying what I'm thinking. I'm really apprehensive about doing this. Reasonably, it is a pretty big risk with someone I've seriously never met. I feel like even if I try politely declining, I'll get guilt-tripped into doing it, on top of already feeling guilty if I successfully turn-down the offer.

I'd suggest letting her stay for a month ir two, but make it very clear that that's the timeline. She has to have a place lined up by then, or before then.

I've done that for a friend. It works rather well if when you're up front and set guidelines.
I told my buddy he had a month free, and then the second month he was paying rent + bills and the third month he wouldn't be here.

Even 1-2 months sounds like awhile. But no, I don't have a spare room for her. I have a 2-room apartment. Living room/kitchen and bedroom. And if she comes over, I'll keep that in mind. You know, if I absolutely have to do this.

I highly doubt his family would allow that. His dad's kind of an asshole, so I can easily see that not happening.

She must have other friends she can sofa-hop too while she finds her feet.

Not sure how it works in the US, but a Megabus (coach) travelling cross-country costs less than a tenner. If someone I didn't know wanted a lift to Scotland (from London), I'd not bother, but if I knew they were hard up, I'd pay the 5 for the bus to take them there.

Well, sofa-hopping might not be a bad idea either. Also, the cross-country travel idea really only works if we know there's a destination she can go to.

Also, my friend just informed me she has a large suitcase, and she's in the next freaking town. He said he doesn't know how she could get to my apartment, and suggested, "Uber?" Who's gonna pay for that?? I mean, I literally can't my card doesn't actually work with the Uber app.

For one, he lives with his mom and dad in a family of 6.

Or, she could stay with other family members (her aunts/uncles or cousins or grandparents etc).

Your home is where you feel most comfortable, so if you're not willing to let a stranger intrude (which, in fairness, nobody can blame you for), then respectfully decline but say you would like to help. Perhaps you can offer her a lift to the next town to another friend/family friend?

I don't have a car. ;_; That's not a bad idea, though...

A friend of mine knows this girl, and apparently she needs a place to stay, and wants to know if I could help out. He said she can't stay at her friend's house tonight. Apparently she's running from an abusive home and her mother hit her with a baseball bat. I tried asking how long she would need, but he replied with saying she could get a job if needed, and help pay rent. He told me she was an ex of his, and assured me she was a pretty nice person.

That kind of worries me, since I wasn't expecting to suddenly take on a possible roommate out of the blue. I'm a pretty shy person, kind of nervous around other people, and I've never lived with someone before. Also, it would kind of interfere with my private life as well.

On the other hand, I would feel like a total jerk if I denied my friend's friend a place to stay. I would assume her only options would be to go back to an abusive home, or onto the streets. And I've seen a few actual homeless people around here, and that shit doesn't look fun.

I kind of don't want a sudden roommate, but I don't want to be an ass, either. Anyone got any advice/suggestions/opinions/plans of action I should take?

Me and my friend both got Christmas presents for each other, but so far, we haven't been able to exchange them yet. Last night, he asked when my next day off was, and I was like, "Tomorrow." So today, we were supposed to give each other gifts.

There was a plan for him to come over around 10:00, but he texted and said he felt super sick. I asked if he wanted to do this another day and he said, "No, today's the last day of December."

But it sounded like he was pretty sick, so I was like, "We could always do it another day. It's fine." and he said, "But the presents..."

So I sent him a picture of what I had gotten him. It was a quick, impromptu pic. I said, "The presents will be waiting here for you."



I remember thinking, "Something about this doesn't look that good, but... I'm not sure what else I could do." before sending it.

About an hour or so later, he sent this back:



Holy shit.

That's beautiful. It looks amazing. Added ribbons, and bows... and even the backdrop looks nicer. Carpeting, using the wrapping paper itself as a background... He even added nametags! I actually remember thinking to myself, "Should I add nametags to my presents? ...nah, he'd probably ask why I bothered doing that when there's only one person I'm giving them to." And I took a picture of two presents, he took a picture of three!

I wish I had half the creativity that he did, and did something wonderful for his presents. ;_; I should've gotten another present, but I didn't know what. My presents look like shit. They're not even wrapped well. I wonder if I can still get ribbons and bows... Well, if he saw them on the presents now, he'd know I only did this after seeing his picture.

He put way more thought and effort and creativity into his presents than I did. I'm a fucking piece of shit. It's no wonder nobody can stand me. Why am I so disappointing? This friendship's probably not going to last much longer now. He probably likes me a lot less now. Not that he did in the first place, but even less so now.

I've always wanted to design a CardCaptor Sakura game. Not a puzzle game or anything, but where you play as Sakura, actually trying to capture the cards. 3D combat similar to Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, things like that, where you can lock onto the card, and use other cards as attacks. You can perform dodge rolls, and things like that. Certain cards, like Firey, Watery, etc. would provide some form of attack, whereas others could be support. Dash would help you run and dodge faster, Shield could defend against some attacks, Jump could give you a high jump, Fly could let you fly around the area.

Even though it doesn't feel like it makes a lot of sense for a CardCaptor Sakura game to have any sort of open world, it would be nice if there were areas you could return to and explore with newly acquired cards. We would either figure out how to make an open-world Tomoeda, or have a world map of Tomoeda, with areas that you can select and explore at your leisure.

As for the cards themselves, I thought it would be neat if you could do them in any order you want. Maybe there would be 4-5 that would show up at once around town, and you could go to the areas that they're in and deal with them. After capturing a few, more cards would show up. I just like the idea of using different abilities on other cards. In the series, we've seen just one or two effects one card might have on another, but what about every single card? It would be cool to see what cards work on others, and what doesn't.

And not every card has to be a battle, either. There were a few cards in the series that were more like solving a puzzle instead of a battle. Things like Thunder, Earthy, Watery, cards like that would be boss battles. Things like Maze, Silent, etc. Would be more of a puzzle.

Then there could be unlockables with certain cards. Like capturing The Create would allow you to fight brand new optional bosses if you wanted. Sakura actually used The Create in the anime to fight against monsters for training. Maybe The Voice or The Song could unlock a sound test or something. The Return could possibly unlock a "boss rush" sort of mode where you can go back "in time" to fight previous bosses again.

It would also be really cool to have a replay mode in the vein of Dissidia, where you can change the camera angles and stuff like that. It would especially be fitting for Tomoyo. And speaking of Tomoyo, there would have to be a giant collection of outfits that you could change Sakura into, created by Tomoyo herself, of course. I'm not sure if they would all be available at once, or if they'd be unlockable as the game progresses.

Those are a few ideas I've had for a CardCaptor Sakura game, but sadly, it'll never happen. ;_; It would be kinda neat to get something that isn't just a puzzle game...

Sakaguchi and Uematsu went on to make Lost Odyssey which was a total piece of shit so I suspect the problem was probably them.

Considering the quality of writing all across the board (from FF to KH) dropped significantly after Sakaguchi left, I highly doubt that's the case.

Also, if Sakaguchi were still here, you can bet your ass FFXV and FFVII:R wouldn't be using KH gameplay.
