There are mods to fix the Steam version of SA1

I modded the shit out of SA1, just couldn't figure out the occasional crash issue unfortunately. It was mostly on startup so I kind of ignored that for the most part.

Haven't played Adventure 2 recently, so my last exposure to Chao Garden was in DX going for emblems. Keep in mind that the Steam version crashes every so often, it crashes even more if you make the mistake of downloading the DX version of Chao World Extended which made me have to redo several races, speaking of which why does it randomly give you the option to cheer for other chao than your own? Why is the camera angle within the gardens so needlessly close to the ground when the rest of the game isn't quite so shitty about that? Why is even the Station Square garden so needlessly large it's hard to actually find the specific little bastard that you're actually trying to feed animals to? Why is it all but required to use the infinite animal glitch to raise your chao's stats with any degree of efficiency? I especially loved the part where my chao had maxed out run level and basically had zoomies within the garden, but since it was still in its infant stage the races made it crawl like a shitter, so I had to just straight up wait for my chao to evolve before it could actually use its juiced up run stat HURRY UP AND STOP BEING A BABY YOU JERK I GOT SHIT TO DO--and that, my friends, is why if I'm ever good enough to 100% SA2 then I'm just using a chao editor for all the goofy chao shit that I used to love more than the rest of the game somehow.

Killer7s writer is zero escape? I have heard it floating around but I could be wrong about that

Killer7 was written by Goichi Suda, Zero Escape was written by Kotaro Uchikoshi. Now that you mention it though, Zero Escape is also pretty wild. I still think the first one is the best, but every game in the trilogy has its good moments. Easy recommend from me.

Gurren Lagann is so unapologetically Shonen that there's an in-universe mechanic where your Spiral Energy (think power level) is directly proportional to how much you believe in yourself, and it's just a series of escalation after escalation until eventually the MC is piloting a mecha so large that it's larger than universes. It's absolutely wild and I love it.

Samurai Flamenco might also be up your alley, it starts pretty low-key for around 7 episodes or so and then it starts getting weird. I liked this show a lot too, it's a fun ride with an interesting twist involving the deuteragonist.

For games, gotta recommend Killer7 if you somehow haven't played it by now. Don't go into it with any spoilers, just strap in and enjoy the ride.

Immediately replayed Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered for the new game+ trophies. It was actually pretty fun cause I got to ignore all the side content and skip entire boss phases with Quad Damage and checkpoint abuse.

Huang Gai's moveset is hilarious and based though. Just this ripped old dude surfing around and all three of his musou attacks are wrestling moves. Love that beautiful old mad man.

Speaking of old dudes though, if there's a next game in the series then they need to make Liao Hua playable for fuck's sake. Was literally serving Shu for its entire existence, I wanna play as that guy dammit, not some fictional fuck boy like Guan Suo or his annoying fictional girlfriend Bao Sanniang, or that other fictional fuck boy Zhou Cang.

Complete Edition just means it's 8+Xtreme Legends combined, I think, since they were sold as separate discs that you had to swap on PS3 originally. Still gotta buy the DLC. Also I can't find anything about whether the Divine Fox Animal included in the Switch version can be obtained in other versions.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong then but 7/XL/E definitely had unique movesets. It introduced a bunch of new characters like Sima Shi with their own unique weapons. I remember really liking 7E because Xu Shu was incredibly fun. I might buy DW8XL on PSN since I don't think I ever played it and I'm really missing a DW game.

I know 7 made me like using Zhou Yu way less than I did before and he was my favorite character in 4 and 5. His change to a Bo Staff in 6 was iffy but I still found it fun but 7 and on I had more fun using Sima Shi and a bunch of other characters. Cao Pi's moveset in 6E was also sick. I'm sad it only lasted one game. The dual sword moveset was such a downgrade, even compared to 5's.

Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure Xiahou Dun, Sun Quan, and Sima Zhao shared a moveset. So there were still a few clones at least at that point.

I'd recommend getting the Switch port of 8XL if that's an option, just because it comes with all the DLC, which includes new stages, costumes for free play, a unique animal, stage themes from past entries, and the weapons that several characters end up using in 8 Empires.

Nah man you got it backwards. Didn't 7 introduce weapon switching? 8 is the one where every character had a unique moveset. And like, you don't have to use other characters' weapons if you don't want to. Unless a character has a legitimately awful moveset like Lianshi or Yuan Shao that is.

Mostly playing through the Insomniac Spider-Man games, on Miles Morales currently. Also got pretty into Assault Spy lately. It's literally DMC combat with an indie budget. It's actually really fun because it satisfies that character action itch with very little to no annoying filler between fights. The banter between the male MC and his partner is pretty funny with how often she annoys the heck out of him while he's trying to be all cool and professional.

8 Xtreme Legends is one of my favorite games period. I'd actually recommend picking up the Switch port because it includes all the DLC.

I'm also a fan of Fate/EXTELLA LINK as far as non-Warriors musou games are concerned. Only played a bit of the demo so far, but Samurai Remnant also felt pretty solid.

Sakura was easily my favorite character in the main game, for sure.

Asahina's the biggest chad in her school mode ending for doing the impossible and successfully asking Makoto on a proper date though. Literally why isn't that ship more popular idgi.

The feathery bits are kinda just a mass of noodles, but I was not about to apply gradients and shading on each part, and I do like the rest of this, so whatevs. I started drawing this last night and I finished Meowth and the jacket and felt fine. Then I did like two little wispy bits on the wings and was immediately exhausted and had to take a break lol. Later I finished the lineart and today I finally finished coloring. I kinda liked it more before it was colored in, but I forgot to transfer the plain lineart over so y'all at home could color it in yourselves. Maybe later.

Hey, same here! This is actually my first fighting game, and even I can combo decently enough now. It's mostly just...everything else about playing a fighting game that I need to work on. This is the part where I'd recommend trying the free version to see if that changes your mind, but it's kind of been invaded by an army of 2B players and I just don't feel like dealing with that right now!

I just bought it on PC and its a terrible port :(

It keeps the mouse cursor on screen and shows keyboard and mouse symbols for the buttons and not the controller Im using.

The mouse cursor thing is pretty annoying, yeah. Dunno what's going on with the keyboard symbols though. I just use a wired DS4 and it shows the correct symbols just fine.

Irregular litter activity usually means something is wrong and you should be asking a vet about it.

Do not play Rune Factory 5 on Switch, not even if it's your only option. Even a budget PC can run the PC version significantly better than Switch, and it has a furniture placement mod that I consider essential. Switch version is one of the worst running games I've played for how it looks.

Oh if TC likes Yakuza, then I'd also recommend The Way of the Househusband. It's about an ex Yakuza that gets married and does all of the household chores while his wife works. It's hilarious.

You gotta be willing to branch out a little when asking for recs is the way I see it. Watch too much that's too similar in tone and you're gonna get bored eventually. There's just too much quality entertainment out there to limit yourself to a single genre or tone.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes (80s OVA version). Don't ask me about the new version (Die Neue These) as I haven't watched it yet.

Spice and Wolf (getting a new adaptation soon).

I blame the remastered art style, the crunchy DS art wasn't nearly as off-putting from what I recall. Literally everyone in the remastered art style just looks weird to me.

If you have any interest in the recent Spider-Man games I'd recommend getting the Spider-Man 2 bundle just so you get a free game with it. And if your PS4 is showing its age then it's still worth getting just for any that you still actively want to play. Especially any that have PS5 upgrades available.
