I should at least give some update on the pause.

Real life started opening up again and I've been pretty much riding that stream completely. Gone out a few times, seen what friends have done, and kind of snapped in a few ways, in a good way. Am desperately trying to fix my place up as after 3 years i should have been done instead of letting much of the situation stagnate like it has. Also am picking up cooking, a skill I've let deteriorate pretty badly. Haven't checked B8 in the past week much more than a cursory glance, let alone posted much if at all in the past week. In the now one gacha game i play I didn't get my dailies done yesterday. Haven't seen much anime either, though that's an easy cool down for a day.

I'll definitely get back to this sooner than later, or rather figure out the time for it. Am flipping a lot of my bad habits, or trying to at least, to use it more effectively. Week or two more, if i do it right, should suffice to regaining RPG time, even if it's something like a scheduled couple hours every couple days. So yeah, sorry for the pause like it is but it's one of those "need to reorganize life and priorities" moments.

Like i remember those arguments, the incompetence of trump vs. cruz or pence or ryan, where it's actually intelligent and calculated. On India/China news, we're just getting more updates.

Apparently most of the Indian deaths are due to people losing footing/falling down the mountain ridge as they fought in the dark. And this was a fight between hundreds on both sides.

Prosecutors don't tend to push beyond too much usually because juries are prone to dismissing more if they're innocent of one charge. Running both puts the murder 3 at a greater risk than it would be by itself.

...if so, probably. They shouldn't though as it can be lethal, especially if you've got certain health conditions. They've definitely gotten away with more usage there than they should be allowed. I'm assuming tazers are under the same umbrella as their sticks, which despite causing more damage should be less lethal as it's not a literal electric current.

He at the very least pointed the taser at the main cop chasing him while running away, so he was threatening the cop with a weapon. It's after that point the cop shoots.

And we call tasers non lethal because they've a higher probability to not kill, not that they can't. It's well understood they absolutely can kill you, just significantly less than a gun.

Did get accused of it. Don't know about stepping down or not but she seems still in control.

What she did do though was say she was gonna go kill herself because that way nobody else has to suffer. So this a suicidal abusive leader who started this idea. And that's all verifiable.

But there is an update! A few, actually.

First, the funny one that's not 100%: supposedly they're out of food. They invited a bunch of homeless in and they took it and ran. Whoops. Vegan meats and soy products were requested. Screenshot going around is this one, no link or archive because tweets are protected.



Part of me wants to say it's fake because it's too perfect. The other part says this totally makes sense in what is the greatest example of LARPing gone wrong in recent memories.

Second update isn't as funny and has video. Too long of one, it'll eventually get clipped. This area cut off from everything else is Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone. CHAZ for short. Inside of this zone there's people with guns to protect people and establish their area. It is currently day 2.

Aleady at the phase excessive force has been used for petty crimes. Raz Simone seems to be the main guy there, already having beat multiple people and said "we are the police" to someone doing graffiti. They're a roaming force with guns, no oversight, and already use excessive force. Once again, it is only day 2 and it ain't even noon over there yet.

Let's see how this modified Stanford prison experiment continues to play out.

Police unions are also labor unions. It, like every other government union, is designed to protect the employees, to give weight to the employees' demands, to increase salaries, etc. There's not gonna be a real difference here, it's all employee protection to a limited degree. Police protections you're mad about are issues that should be solved with the legislature, well above their grade.

Once you open the door to union busting you can't take it back and it 100% will be used in a way you don't like shortly after because organizations tend to not like them.

Yeah, it should be major news. An armed insurrection sectioning off a part of a major US city? It's a massive escalation of all the arguments wrapped in one. Wanna argue them as commies, you're good. Wanna argue them as terrorists, you're good. Wanna argue them as people defending against the police, you're good. Wanna argue them as people proving you don't need police? Good again. And of course, can argue it as the masses rising against a tyranical government. You'd have expected that one to come from the right but nope!

Current status is entirely up in the air but leaves a lot of uncomfortable situation. Could be a case where military is legit necessary. Could be a case where psychology rears its head and new power corrupts, making everything horrific. Could be a case where a proof of concept pushes forward.

Personally expecting it to be a powder kegs that blows up horribly as it escalates, collapsing on itself before outside forces need to clean it up. Anything better than that is probably a success.

you're gonna wait about a year no matter what.
if you want a handgun you literally need to write an essay about why you want a gun, get multiple people saying you're fine, do an interview, and are pretty much going to get denied unless you're a celebrity of some kind. oh, and if you get denied you paid your fee for nothing.

rifles and shotguns are easier, technically, though there's a billion restrictions that are absurd and silly because there's always a workaround since, y'know, it's a modular weapon. they don't have an interview, so that's a start. still gonna take 9+ months.

it's really, really fucking stupid and unsurprising that 3/4 of our guns come from out of state. anybody who wants one just looks at everything it takes and goes fuck that, i'll just go to PA, to Vermont, to NH, to anywhere else that's easier to buy. ....or 3D print these days. that's on the rise too.
