It's weaker but the visual cues really do bring life to it. Thing is, the anime is clearly taking its cues from the manga. Multiple scenes are just straight up lifted from it. For reference, chapters are generally between 30-40 pages and these 29 chapters are just two volumes in. Each took 14-15 chapters so I wouldn't say it's significantly less, there's a lot of care there.

Pacing is pretty fast, anime is skipping a LOT of details. The core aspects are intact and everything is coherent but the world building and character building are significantly wreaker. You don't get a proper feel for just how much of a nutjob Goblin Slayer is in the anime.

We're done with the first 9 chapters of the manga. Pacing we're on should get us to 29, which is the end of the sword maiden arc.

Gate is awesome but the fantasy comparison breaks down as bowgun exist. Rapid fire, landmines, sticky bombs, charged explosions, and cluster bombs are already a thing in Monster Hunter and they use gunpowder for the creation of their ammo. You also have tranquilizers, smoke bombs, Barrell bombs, and a couple other things that hunters can already use.

That guy's gun is way too small for anything. I'm at the point where I think he's gonna run into a Kula, get his ass kicked, and be saved by a Rathalos fireballing it then roaring, Jurassic Park style. It should be a Devlijo but I don't expect that much. He'll eventually learn bigger gun is better and probably use one of the rapid fire HBG.

I just want the real MHW experience of 3 heavy bowgun users and one poor greatsword user struggling - even better if he puts on his Rocksteady Mantle before going through the explosions in a dramatic scene. Or everyone trying to carry the Rathian's egg before she shows up.

Original 1 is hard to deal with if you aren't meticulous with the map and don't quickly grasp what's useful in a team. This is easier in the remake, though that difficulty is part of the charm of the first game. Second balances it a bit better though Hexer also breaks it.

Biggest thing early EO taught me was to never underestimate status ailments. Carried over from SMT but goddamn they save your ass.

Ha, I think trying to get people to play 1 is the backwards option just because of how it's missing the general refinements in the later entries, including the awkward difficulty and the way mapping got better over time. Multiple classes and a wider variety of them makes it more enjoyable to see what you like too.

4 is just a case where there's a ton of stuff I'll agree that it strays far from what Etrian Odyssey was, they pushed the envelope on sailing the sea to sailing the skies and it just changed the game. But I liked that duality to it.

Though hey, 5 seems like it fits under both our approaches.

4 or 5.
1 and 2 are a bit hard to get into now and the remakes still don't make it as good as 3 to 5. 3 is amazing but the mechanics in 4 and 5 are generally easier for new people to get into. Especially true of 5 as they focused more on dungeon and had a bunch of the newer improvements. 3 and 4 can be monsters of content whereas 5 is just good focused content and still quite meaty.

Torrent is frankly better than the legal options out there anyway when it comes to anything that isn't ongoing. You get improvements/changes to animation done for the BD release, you get significantly better quality than what it aired with, and streaming like crunchyroll are notorious for reducing the quality by a lot on anything more than a few weeks old. They got busted for reducing bitrate by 70% just last year. Sure they've improved but the quality still is far inferior, not enough for me to care since there's better options for that. If you want the best version, piracy is first, physical BDs second, high quality video third. If you want to support the anime, purchasing obviously is first. Streaming, not so much.

Yeah, gacha is a crazy genre in scope. SMT I mentioned only because I've been playing it as just an SMT spinoff and it kind of works, it's a mobile SMT game first, gacha second. Especially if it comes to rates, it's the absolute worst. Others like Fate, Granblue, or FFBE insist you do, though the last two are relatively generous. I don't know how Girls Frontline is so I can't comment, the random censorship threw me off that train (even if there's a fan patch).

The TDH meta isn't what she's going for at all here. Just regular DH with 2k attack. I haven't gotten mine that far yet, best I've done is 1730, though I did roll Prishe recently so that'll be a jump eventually. Won't do it now since hey, more 7*.

Olive survives her nuke in a few ways. Apparently it's just current hp, so healing an injured one works, barriers work, and... This is probably a bug but evasion works.

Technically you can get it from SMTR'ing but both need to be up to 7. That is, you don't just feed two more 5* units to your 7*; you get the extra 7* first, then eat the fodder unit. That's two separate ones and should count.
