The problem is that, AFAIR, this is the first *real* showing of the Xbox Series X.

Why would you have such mediocre looking games and a boring presentation for the first showing? Why advertise it as gameplay showcase when it wasn't really gameplay showcase at all? And Iif you're going to go 3rd party for the first showing, you need to have some heavy hitters. We're talking CD Projekt Red, Rockstar, Square, WB, etc. The closest they had was Ubisoft with Assassins Creed, but even that was a mediocre showing.

It's a big fucking loss for Microsoft as far as I am concerned, and a good indicator they haven't learned as much as some of us hoped they had this past generation.

Sony has all the opportunity in the world to have a better first showing for PS5 now. I'd almost say they'd really have to go out of their way to have such a similar bad showing.

I'm buying a PS5 for Spider-Man 2 and FF7R2.

I don't particularly care about any other Sony exclusives.

For me it's Spider-Man and God of War

I've thought everything else from Sony has been mediocre at best. (and even Spider-Man I mostly liked just cause Spider-Man, I think it was overrated for what it was)

I'm far more likely to get a PS5 but probably not for 2 or 3 years unless they're going to have Spider-Man 2 and God of War at launch.

If you want to play Xbox one and 360 games, then just keep your Xbox one. Like weve already said, their smart delivery system will allow you to play a lot of the series x games so theres basically no reason to buy it

My biggest hope is that Xbox Series X causes there to be a massive drop in used Xbox One X (or maybe even S at this point, I don't care about 4K that much) prices.

I sold my Xbox One X last year for a profit, believe it or not, but I do kind of miss all my BC games I had on it so it'd be nice to get a One S for like 100 bucks

This presentation has made me realize just how pointless the Xbox Series X is going to be.

Smart Delievery basically guarantees that the improvements between consoles will be minimal. We're talking maybe an FPS boost at most?

The cross generation differential is going to be the weakest it's ever been because gameplay is not going to change much at all due to having to work on both systems.

Xbox Series X is literally only for the dumbest of fanboys, isn't it?

Modern game studios can't get anything close to stable gameplay until probably a month before release. Literally right up to when they go gold.

So instead we get choppy gameplay that's edited together and cutscenes.

To me, Rockstar games will never be great until they fix their goddam character movement controls.

It's really funny how FPS view controls a lot better in GTA V simply because it defaults your movement to run instead of forcing you to hold the A button.

Also, turning becomes more responsive. I really don't see why they can't just make this a toggle option for 3rd person view. I assume it's some bullshit animation reasoning, but that's bullshit specifically because you view all those janky animations when you see people using FPV in GTA Online.

The idea is that GTA VI will continually be expanded upon.

This isn't even a new idea, Rockstar North has proposed this idea as early as 2014 I believe saying the ultimate GTA they want to make is one that encompasses all the locations and more.

To make this very clear this isn't just another "Leak" post with a blurted fan list these are infos I have gathered and cross checked with various sources within the industry Mods are free to PM me about details on my Sources, I will respond by saying which department/profession they are coming from, and even with screenshots from the sources messages, though names will be 100% blurred out I don't want anyone to get in trouble.
Also some of the Leaks are more recent so you will be able to confirm I am correct very soon.

Lets start:
As Yan2295 and Tezfun already tentatively hinted at, the next GTA Online Update is going to be a Cops and Crooks Game Mode, it is currently scheduled for June/July, there is a little twist to this, but I am not going to spoil it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will get smart delivery for XBOX Series X, I am almost certain it will be announced on May 7th at the Inside XBOX Event
Red Dead Online had an Update scheduled for last Month, but they had to delay it due to problems with testing and the current pandemic affecting workflows, instead they are merging it into the next one, which should come very soon.
Grand Theft Auto V on the other hand, will not get a Next Gen Version, you'll get to know why:

Grand Theft Auto VI was scheduled to Release(be AWARE, this is just R*s internal Release date, these get pushed away very often) in October of 2021, there has been a bit of a bash between Jason and Yan, due to conflicting information.

Grand Theft Auto VI was about 60/70% done, but because Rockstar considered Feedback for Red Dead Redemption II, some portions of the game are being re-done, story is expanded further, and they are "cleaning up edges" and additional time is used to setup, the ongoing DLC Support. Mission Design is especially being overhauled to offer a more open approach, Rockstar really took the Feedback to RDRII to heart. Also they didn't have to delay it, but they chose to take their time, because constant GTA Online revenue allows them to.
People are talking about a "decade builder" game, as in, Rockstar knows that this game will be their GTA for the upcoming decade, so they are pouring everything into it, to make sure it will be the penultimate GTA game. GTA Online was never built with expansion in mind, GTA VI 100% is, and it will launch with plenty of content to begin with as well.
They are planning and preparing to support it later down the line as well, this means Updates for Story Content and Online.
Pre Covid19, the target date for GTA VI was October 2021 to February 2022.
It is unclear as to how far things are being pushed back because of Covid19, but R* has taken great care to make sure their employees remain healthy, by sending out assurances about the companies ongoing commitment to minimize Crunch, regular milestone updates, as well as Gift Packages sent to the employees at home.

If you have any doubts, questions, things you want me to clear up, I am open for it in the comments, this is a throwaway for obvious reasons.

Truth be told, this isn't really telling us much. Most have assumed that GTA VI would be designed around expansion even before Jason Schreir said it. It will be interesting to see if they really reveal RDR2 smart delivery today though.

Yeah, every time I try to replay the series I get halfway through Mass Effect before I put it down out of sheer boredom.

It was okay when it first came out, but ME2 is just so much better.

I'm sure someone is going to say "hardly any items" but like, everything in ME1 is just copy/paste of the same 6 models just with different colors.

And I'll never understand the ammo argument. Weapon cooldowns just brings gameplay to a standstill.
