If you know the source of depression, you can either resolve it or make it not matter. Of course that's hard when you lose all motivation. Otherwise, just let time pass and your mood might improve, or try talking to people, either friends, family, or a mental health professional. If you want to avoid medication, talk to a psychologist.

It's not worthless, and anyone who says that is wrong (who is saying that?). But it's a one time thing, while the corporations are getting a permanent tax cut, and we're using the deficit to fund that. Plus any bonuses are going only to employees of corporations who happen to give them, which is a small fraction of all Americans. It would have been more efficient to use that deficit spending to just give everyone $1000.

As was already said, feminism is not just crazy extremists. You probably don't notice the sane reasonable feminists while you do notice the extremist hateful ones for the same reason when walking out in public you'd notice the homeless man shitting his pants and screaming at the sky but you won't notice all the people on the street NOT shitting their pants and screaming.

I actually kinda think feminism just needs to rebrand itself though. It's an increasingly tough sell for a feminist to say "we're for gender equality and we care about men's issues too" with a name like feminism, where all the publicity is focused purely on women. And all the bad publicity too. The extremists and crazies have done so much damage to the brand.

So what I propose, is a rebranding, with a more inclusive, non-gendered name so it is much easier to sell as being just about gender equality. As an added bonus, the absolute most diehard opponents of dropping the feminism label for a new one, should be the most like, militant, extreme feminists, so this would actually act as a filter to thin the number of extremism under the new label. For a time, anyway.

I decided out of curiosity to google Doug Jones ads to see how he's been marketing himself in Alabama. Thus far, EVERY ad boils down to "Look at how terrible my opponent is."

Alabama is a shit state, but this is yet another case of forcing voters to choose between the candidate that is pushing an agenda, and a candidate who's platform is "I'm not the other guy." That's never a winning strategy.

#1, there have been a fair share of ads touting Jones for his career as a federal prosecutor, and as a gun owning, church going guy who will compromise.

#2, Hillary's problem was she didn't sell herself well enough to offset the massive amounts of baggage she carried. Moore's campaign has tried to tie Jones to all the "dirty liberals" but it's a dubious connection.
