There is a certain breed of scum that will take advantage of a shortage to flip an item. Rich people are not necessarily one of them in most cases.

If gasoline stayed the same price during a temporary crisis you'd have ever piece of shit in town buying up all the gas and then flipping it for even more insane profits than the gas station is.

I do not agree with gouging but in this situation the higher price is an artificial rationing.

Yes, better for the gas station to raise prices to $20 than for people to buy the gas and sell it for $20.

They're pulling out the support structure of Obamacare and expecting it to function on its own. Those mandates are the only thing keeping Obamacare afloat. The whole plan needs to be rebuilt not just pick and choose.

The Senate should have tried to reach across the aisle and set up a bipartisan group to work something out. It's true Obamacare is falling apart, but this is NOT the way to get rid of it.

It is not falling apart. It needs to be stabilized in some areas but for most of the country it is fine.

Start with reducing the obvious bad things (soda, beer, desserts), then work on portion control during meals. Or start with the latter if it's easier to do. That's all there really is to it.

Because in practice it rarely works as intended. In a lot of cases it ends up being a subsidy to families who were already sending their kids to private schools. And if an underperforming school is underperforming because of lack of funding, it doesn't make sense to take even more funding from them.
