AKA weekly meetings that incorporate a review of the prior week and planning for the next week. Instead of telling people to be 'iterative', how about 'consistent'? We're going to review everything in our meeting that we typically do. Yes, iteration is important. Layering on managerial speak to your staff, I'd argue less so.

Iteration is a very important principal to software design. You do not want to write software that can not easily be replaced. I know a lot of older engineers that really struggle with this concept and get stuck in old 90s mindsets even when they hear words like agile.

Been a formal job title for decades but ok? The wikipedia page for Software Architect started in 2005. I don't know what you would call someone in a position above Principal. Literally the person on the team who architects the software.

You should have weekly retrospectives / planning sessions. It is very important to have an iterative development methodology.

I guess the season wrapped up this weekend.
I only watched 4 anime this season, and dropped Onimai 3/4 of the way through so my anime of the season is at no surprise to all Pokemon: Aim to be a Pokemon Master for concluding my 25 year run with Pokemon.

I deal with people from all over the place in work, and I don't think any specific part of the US is different in this aspect.
People in general tend to just care about themselves.

GPT-4 is not really a new model, I looked back on some of my discord message history and I was talking about GPT-4 in 2021 as being a game changer in this space. By then GPT-3 was already know to be something on the market for a while. We are just seeing its bubble phase where people realize that language models have both pros and cons to their use. The same thing can be said about both the 2D and 3D art art AI models, we had the whole "deepfake" porn AI program drop in what was that? 2018? 2019? It was only a matter of time before we got mass market AI image generation. Out of all of these, the audio generation sounds really cool but I don't know much about it.

Which, honestly, I got on the bandwagon when ChatGPT hit the market which is right as OpenAI was getting ready to launch its paid GPT-4 model (where we are today.

I have had a huge issue with his inability not to get himself banned and his multi-acounting for a while now. I wish he would just grow up.

I periodically use ChatGPT as a programming tool but many cases it does not really provide anything new or interesting that I wouldn't just get reading API docs or Stack Overflow. If you have to ask something that is not readily available it will usually just spit nonsense at you.

This is largely why I no longer play team based games.

This is especially apparent in any kind of multiplayer or live-service game. There will be a concept of a metagame, but unless I enjoy that concept, I will just do whatever makes me the happiest.
I can name off many examples, but I think a lot of them will get lost in translation. For example, in Pokemon, I will create and use suboptimal teams because I like to create and find my own strategies. I think that using the strategies of others is cheating myself out of a good time.

I have played 2200 hours of Runescape 3 in the past 11 months (since I started playing again). Currently just do my dailies (Invention Machines, Daily Challenges and Keys) and then on the Weekends I do some Raksha (have around 250 kc right now).

Down to 5 pages again despite my recent spam.

I have not seen you post since the CAME threads were a thing.

Extremely suspicious rookie user who has put way too much effort into their account to be a real person.

Like, if they run into an issue they don't know the answer to they throw their hands up into the air and give up.
And then instead of asking for help (maybe they don't know who to ask for help?) they just sit around until 4pm and then say they don't know what they're doing.

Out of the people I work with, almost all of them seem to fall into this category of thinking, and I am absolutely confused as to why. When it comes to work I am an incredibly self-driven person because for almost the entirety of my career there hasn't been someone to ask for help.
