The modern consensus is that they are not, however very argumentative people online will insist that JRPGs are RPGs from Japan. I think that this kind of bad faith actor is heavily implied to exist in both of these videos.

Also a bit of respect for Yoshi P here, I don't like his games, but he's at least willing to admit that it's his intention for FFXVI to not be a JRPG. I had to argue many times that neither XV or XVI are JRPGs and people refuse to acknowledge that because of the whole "RPG made in Japan" crap.

The Phil Fish thing really pissed me off. What a fucking loser. I did not know that until now. The early 2010s were a mistake. Guy ended up making 1 boring ass indie games and being efamous for no reason.

I do not watch a lot of her videos anymore, but I've been an advocate for removal of the JRPG term for years. Just start calling turn-based RPGs TBRPGs or TRPGs (yes Tactical RPGs exist. whatever). I like those games and I don't like action-based RPGs.

Up to Volume 9 on 3-gatsu no lion so I've almost cleared where the anime left off (only half of a volume left). Crazy how accurate that anime was to the manga but it was great I experienced it all again because it reminded me how much I enjoyed it the first time through.

I am happy that I managed to reach this position in my career in my early 30s with under 10 years of experience. I will keep on working my ass off until I finally fulfill my dream of producing a product that I can confidently tell people I made.
I also wonder if any of my coworkers lurk these boards. I don't think any of them do.

The questions do seem silly but there is a point behind them. The first is asking you something that would be impossible to answer. The second is asking you how you would react under a stressful situation. The answers people give can be a good test of ones personality and creativity under stress.

I have given interviews before, I know that these are psychological questions, however if I was being asked these types of questions in my fiend instead of legitimately useful questions (soft questions are valuable but not this kind of soft question) I would be pissed that the interviewer was wasting my time trying to screw with me.
These questions might be valuable in fields with very few hard skills, but this kind of interviewing in my field is very corporate and doesn't resonate with the company culture I want to be apart of.

I am happy you were able to do this, and hope there are no long term consequences as a result.

If these questions were asked in a serious interview session, I would end the interview.

I would suggest getting a computer science degree.

Amen this is exactly what it is. I will probably always be on their cheapest plan because I understand that anything more is basically pointless for me.

Yea that's what I was doing, not playing straight discs.
Obviously there's little to no difference between the PS3 having the chip or not the games play almost identical.
Also this is 2023, who the hell cares about emulating physical games you own when you also own the physical hardware?

I have more or less the same friends I had 8 years ago.
I had a group of friends when I was a teeenager and then transitioned to a group of friends I made as an adult with a grey area of when I was in the 21-23-ish range where none of those people are in my life anymore.
