I was watching a music stream on twitch last night and I felt a gripping feeling in my chest, that feeling where you feel guilty for doing something, because something was off.

The people I was watching kept on getting money from this same person. If you don't know people can "donate" subscription ($5/mo) for the ability to use different emotes. Well I saw something that was very uncomforting, The person in question had given the channel 1500 subscriptions (so this person basically donated $7500 to this channel. While listening I also heard that the channel had over $1000 subs. What made me feel uncomfortable was that the average amount of people watching at any given time was under 75, and the channel itself only had around 1500 followers.

While I was listening, the streamer started bragging about how she was a film director or some bullshit, and that she was close to a record label. It looked like she had a lot of money, at least more than I had.

It just felt very wrong watching this person, and I started thinking more about the people I was watching. All of them are basically exploring their viewers for money. Their content is geared towards the people who are willing to pay. The longer I watched the stream the more I would see that the streamer was basically playing the songs that only the person donating the money wanted to hear.

Then I realized that all of these music channels basically play the same 30 songs.

And then I'm like "what the fuck is going on, is this some kind of scheme of some kind?"
And then I just stopped. I felt so dirty being apart of it.

I don't really watch Anime, there are two Anime I am watching this season but aren't on the list because I haven't added them yet (SSSS Gridman, Zombieland Saga). Only other Anime I watched this year was Citrus. I'd need to back track to when they started airing. Also need to add Short Treks.



I do not like how netflix releases their shows all at once, it leads to a bad spreadsheet.

Yes, seasonal viewers only watch ongoing series. This is because they discuss the episodes weekly as their air. It is basically the opposite of binge watchers.

I could list you a dozen or more different shows I've watched over the past 10 years where I've seen every episode, and a more that I have watched every currently aired season of. I'm not even counting one-off series which I probably don't remember like that Sci-Fi where they created the fake spaceship to research how people would fair in space.

I only started watching anime in 2004-2005 when you could get things easily online. That was before the seasonal concept really started tho. Seasonal anime started around the time waifu-style animes started poping up, probably around 2007-2009.

seasonal anime is just the concept that people started watching anime week by week. Back in the "old days" people would go back and watch Anime that had aired years ago, or would "binge watch" past seasons of an anime.

Everyone is already caught up and just watch whatever is airing in the current season unless you want to get into one of the longer running Anime.

TV have the same concept. I watch TV purely week-by-week. I do not go back and watch old series or episodes of a show. My "currently watching" is always a pool of currently airing shows which get shifted in and out several times a year.

I had started a spreadsheet about this but I seem to have misplaced it.

The seasonal concept has no concept of "binge" as if you wanted to watch it, you've already watched it.

The only times I haven't finished a series if if it gets cancelled in its first season, or I drop it in its first season.

I recently purchased an RTX 2070 and have no parts I need to upgrade
I don't really need a new Keyboard / Mouse

Never did. We didn't really have the money for toys, and I got into video games at a pretty young age (8 with the NES and some Arcade games). Before that it was pretty much just the TV I guess?

I'm not attacking anyone for it, I just find it weird people are so rabid over this one game series. Remember ages ago when the DS one came out. It came out around the same time as a Pokemon game (Maybe HGSS, idk) and I was so excited to see an official PotD topic on it (Different times lol) and there wasn't one, but sure as hell there were a dozen for the smash game.

As for why I never got into it, I'm guessing it was largely because I had no "real" friends until my Senior year of High School, royally screwing my childhood (wasn't really allowed to socialize outside of school). At that point I was pretty far beyond whatever magic people had attached to Nintendo.

I played the N64 game once, but I am always surprised at how much hype these games get. I don't think that the gaming community reacts to a release of this genre as rabid as any other genre.

What makes them so good?

I don't care, I understand people like them rabidly, I am not going to judge you for that. All of my friends pay these games. As a non-Nintendo gamer I just am curious why people freak out about them. I basically know it's just some party game with a bunch of characters, kinda like a Mugen where people have to knock the other players off the stage.

PC version of FFVI should be like any other version of FFVI but I haven't played it (I do own it).
PC version of FFV is definitely the best version, problem is that some FF5JF runs are not possible with it due to some glitches being fixed.

This wasn't a hard concept to imagine 10-20 years ago, now everything is on Reddit and Discord in a nice centralized location where influencers and the devs themselves can control dissent.

5:00 - Leave Work

I cram everything in that 5:30-11:00 timeframe.

I'm sorry let me be most specific.

We should progress to a culture where it is undesirable to have kids outsider of your means. The concept of "breeding' due to necessity is no longer a requirement for our culture. I do not promote any government enforcing this rule, you should be aware of what you can and cannot do as a person, or family and be responsible.

Also some people shouldn't breed period because they lack the mental stability required for it.

These classic systems are never worth it when I still have all of my physical PSX games and can play them freely on a PSP or PC at any time.
And yes, I have the tools to rip my own BIOS, I have one of those PSXes with the parallel port on the back.
