Here's a "leak" I saw from Twitter that looks pretty interesting.

Couple things on there make me even more skeptical than I usually am with these "leaks".

In particular, announcing HD-2D FFT remake right before Triangle Strategy release seems like a good way to steal the latter's thunder.

I actually have the whole Xenosaga trilogy but never made it much past some point in the first game where there's a thirty minute cutscene, a "do you want to save?", and then another fifteen minutes of cutscene. Need to get my PS3 fixed/replaced so I can start fresh.

Nah, Three Houses was a few years ago, rumor I heard was they were working on a Genealogy remake but I don't know how credible the source on that was.

I do believe several of the playable races in XIV have XI counterparts (Lalas definitely do)

All the 1.0/ARR playable races were in XI under different names.

Hume -> Hyur
Galka -> Roegadyn (male only in XI; they also lost their tails in XIV)
Elvaan -> Elezen
Mithra -> Miqo'te (female only in XI)
Tarutaru -> Lalafell

The first half is important there too. I've seen word going around that Sony's marketing deal with Activision (where CoD games on PS get bonus content) lasts until 2025, which would mean they have a contract that requires them to keep putting CoD games on PS until 2025.

Not to mention, a controller is a lot more comfortable to hold for extended sessions than a phone is.

You can sync a controller to the phone and use that. It's how I plan to play it (while casting to my TV) if I ever get around to it.
