I do notice the more popular F2P games (i.e. Clash of Clans, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, etc.) does seem playable without any real roadblock requiring in-game purchases. There have been some I've read where you do hit a roadblock and kinda need in-game purchases to advance.

For what amounts to an internal power struggle, it didn't seem that grand but nonetheless I still enjoyed it and the various one-liner jokes. I really liked how they combined their advance technology with traditional weapons and clothing. The only thing odd I found about it was how relatively easy it seemed for Killmonger to make his heritage known and immediately be able to make a challenge for the throne. I can only assume more verification about his heritage was done off-screen.

Is "voting with your wallet" a double-edge sword?

I'm sure we've heard the saying "vote with your wallet" numerous especially when it comes to products we personally view as being bad. Still, I can't help but wonder if purposely not buying certain products or waiting till they're dirt cheap might hurt consumers more than help.

To some degree I feel companies will continue with their product regardless of the sales count but might resort to other means to make up for their low sales and use the excuse of the low sales to justify their actions. Could low sales from boycotts potentially hurt consumers more than it'll help?

Comments and opinions are appreciated,

Thank you

To some degree I do feel developers should be able to enforce their vision of the game and maintain the "spirit of the game" but at the same time if players want to "ruin" said experience that should be within their ability as well so long as their opinion of the game is based on the base game and it doesn't affect the experience of other players.

What I find interesting is how some players feel superior over others in a video game just because they're playing the game as intended by the developers. Of all things to feel prideful of, a video game doesn't quite carry that much weight in my opinion.

As a whole, I think because of how the story played out, some of the actions of various characters seemed very very dumb or made some of the side-plot pointless. The change in personality of some characters seemed an insult to said characters and certain stuff felt forced and pointless. Overall I enjoyed it but felt the movie left me with more questions than answers and the third movie may not be enough to answer said questions.

At that point you may need several passes or you would need to pay someone to allocate the funds between different owners, or a top up card. whichever way you look at it though it is a cruddy deal.

How so? That's an issue the users of the vehicles/accounts will need to deal with. I wouldn't blame the system for this. If I borrow my sister's car and her device/account get charged for my driving, I'll just reimburse her the amount while topping off her gas. If it's a company vehicle, I'd imagine the driver wouldn't be concern with the charges made on the device/account/pass.

That'll be up to the restaurant to decide and whether or not said consumers feels it is worth having the food delivered or getting it themselves. Personally, I'll be fine paying more for delivery on the occasional Amazon orders for example if it means me paying nothing on roads I do not use.

Yup. The Los Angeles County has a coinless system in-place called the FasTrak. You put in X dollars into your account and carry around a device in your vehicle. When you drive in the express lane and go under certain signs your car kinda get scanned and X dollars is deducted from your account.

The system also kinda uses the "honor system" in that you can set the device to say you have only one, two, or three passengers and you'll be discounted certain amount based on that. Prices also varies by time.

To be fair I remember reading somewhere that the tax used for that currently hasnt been updated since the 80s. So while this shit would piss me off its pribably overdue.

The concern I have with this though is the taxes that's meant for one aspect of society isn't always used for that aspect of society.

EDIT: I do wonder how society would be like if instead of voting for certain bills or spending, the individual citizens be allowed to specify where their tax money goes to when they file their taxes. As to how that will actually work out I cannot say but it's just a curious thought. Hell, what if there was no taxes and we're just allowed to donate to the aspect(s) of society that agree with? Of course that will probably lead to the downfall of society within weeks, if not days.

On another note, I do donate to my local high school music program on a monthly basics and I find it disheartening when I see teachers asking for donations for their classes.

In terms of safety and overall well-being, I can agree giving up some freedom is worth it, even if some argue they use said freedom for their own safety. What I meant by slippery slope is just the fear some might have of possibly giving up additional rights sometime down the road for problems that may or may not be related to safety.

Is it unlikely to happen, probably. Is it impossible to happen, nothing is impossible in my opinion. It may very well just comes down to which is more problematic, keeping said Amendment(s) and the problems related to it or repealing said Amendment(s) and dealing with the aftermath.

I don't doubt that some are like this and would rather allow said problems to exist if it doesn't affect their everyday lives. For some people, the problem probably needs to hit them very close to home before they might feel something about it. It's like folks with bad health habits who do not take action until they suffer a heart attack. Of course even then, some will continue to not see it being a problem.

Love isn't a physical need (depending on how you look at it of course) but emotional well-being can be just as important as physical well-being. Some folks are fine being loners their entire adult life with work being their only social interactions while for some, they need that companionship with family, friends, or a love one.

They're not the same but countries don't have to be the same to implement similar successful legislation. Or at least to attempt a similar legislation.. or to modify the legislation to fit your country better..

That's a bum excuse to just maintain what we're doing.

Indeed. I think that's all some of us are asking for, that we at least try to make changes for the greater good instead of making up excuses that it won't work. If we're gonna suggest it is apple and oranges of it working in one country then its also apple and oranges to suggest it won't work because of another country.

Well prohibition worked, I don't see why banning guns wouldn't.

I was only suggesting these Rights are not set in stone. One was repealed in the past so it is not impossible for any others to be repealed in the future. I still feel it is apple and oranges to compare the U.S with other countries where certain policies do work but at the same time I do feel we're not trying hard enough to at least attempt certain changes.

Obviously there are numerous issues within the States but some folks seem content with these issues instead of allowing attempts at resolving said issues. Both sides of any arguments can talk till the cows come home that certain policies may or may not work and give examples with other countries. But at the end of the day, can we really say "X won't work" if we don't at least attempt it?

i just love how australia had one mass shooting and confiscated all the guns of the citizens in the country practically and have had no issues with gun violence since then

but in america we just cannot tolerate gun reform and just allow hundreds and thousands and tens of thousands of citizens a year just get blasted away by gun violence for no fucking reason

it's infuriating

I was thinking about Australia as well. I've discussed with a friend about comparing different countries and how its apple and oranges when it comes to policies and whatnot. Still, I can agree that despite whatever differences there are between said countries, certain policies can still be emulated to some degree and may potentially work.

Of course we wouldn't know unless we try, as my friend always suggest, but so many seems adamant against even trying. What I find interesting is how some refer to the Second Amendment as their only reasoning to keep guns. Some act as if the Amendments are written in stone. Granted it'll be bloody tough to re-chisel the Bill of Rights but the 18th Amendment was repealed decades ago with the 21st Amendment.
