I think a lot of these guys dont understand that communication includes a lot more than just the actual words being said. Body language, timing, tone, and other cues give us context for interactions, which we can either ignore or use at our discretion. That engineer was also presumably making more pay than a burger flipper at McDonalds, so I would like to think hed be smart enough to not provoke his boss beyond his already agitated state.

I have to do a 12 hour shift tonight. I normally wouldn't mind (I volunteered for it), but they also changed the policy after I volunteered for it so that everyone has to go in the morning to confirm that they're going to be there for the night shift, it's a real pain in the ass.

Curious how the process goes.

We hired a licensed contractor to renovate our bathroom and do some other work, and when they turned the shower on it caused some water to pour out into the first floor ceiling and ruined the dry wall there. And now my wife is telling me that they cracked the pipe that the toilet mounts on and she doesn't trust them to fix it at this point and she doesn't want them to install a toilet over a broken pipe and then dump shit everywhere >_>.

So I'm just curious how it goes with the homeowners insurance, if I call and explain the situation do they hook us up with a different contractor to inspect and finish the job or what

I volunteered to do the twelve hour watch tomorrow night and that's normally not the end of the world. But because people were fucking up and not showing up to their scheduled duties, now *everyone* who's scheduled for the day, regardless of shift, has to report at 0730 there in person, in uniform.

Which means I have to go to bed at a normal time to get up at a normal time to waste half an hour driving to a place to show face for ten seconds to drive another half hour back to try to sleep somehow in preparation for 12 hours.

Talk about fucking stupid.

I took a remedial math class at a community college. I did 100% of the work online, but I was still required to go twice a week for two hours at a time, and it was a combination of materials from Pearson, Khan Academy and Youtube. The professor spent half his time BSing with certain students and half the time "explaining" materials to other students (his idea of "explaining" content was literally to just tell them "Do THIS" a dozen times followed by "I don't know why you're doing THAT, just follow my directions".).

I lost a friend. She fell victim to a scam and started to receive threats which spooked her pretty bad and she decided to sell her house and move. This was early summer. She said she was going to reach out to me when she came to sign the house over to the new buyers but she never did, and I haven't heard from her since.

My dad's (and then my) 93 Buick Park Avenue had a whole panel at the top (near where the interior light switches are) that had a list of malfunctions and lights so you could easily see if something had gone out. That was pretty cool.

My newer Passat has a light to indicate issues with... *a* light, though it doesn't specify which and you have to troubleshoot it yourself.

My first paycheck was like 200 bucks because in boot camp they charge you for all your uniforms and stuff xd.

And my first year doing taxes the IRS didn't accept my return because my personal information and social security number didn't match, which I thought was funny because I was already in the military for like a year. Leave it to the IRS to catch stuff like that.

Yeah it's annoying AF. I realized that I stopped enjoying open world games as much as I used to as a kid, but then I also realized that the maps were smaller and there was just the right amount of shit to do to avoid getting burned out.

Now you have these giant ass maps but there's nothing but pointless treasure chests scattered around to collect that ultimately have no bearing on the outcome of the game and don't reward you with anything.
