I bought Assassin's Creed Odyssey on a whim and it was definitely fun and not-at-all Assassin's Creed-like (which is a positive thing).

How's Origins? More specifically, if I play "backwards" (Odyssey -> Origins), would I still like it?

It's pretty similar to Odyssey from what I've read, but with fewer of the RPG elements (dialogue choices and whatnot). I enjoyed it, but kinda burned out and haven't gotten around to completing it

Origins does some things better than Odyssey and Odyssey does some things better than Origins.

You definitely should be able to get it cheaper than $29 though.

Playing it right now. I don't know how it compares to Odyssey but it's pretty fun. The only real complaint I have is open world bloat. There's a lot of running around doing map clearing, and most side missions are as basic as possible.

I guess I meant the gold edition, with all DLCs and crap.

I haven't played Odyssey but Origins was an amazing and beautiful game, and the second expansion pack - Curse of the Pharaohs - is friggin' gorgeous and brilliant.

Oh.

The DLCs are more of the same (though Curse of the Pharoahs reskins it under "fantasy") but if the Gold edition is $29 then yeah do it.

Depends. If you liked the sailing/ship battles you're shit out of luck for 99% of the game.

I didn't care too much about the sailing/ship battles.

Yeah, it's a less RPG-ey version of Odyssey. Personally, I like it more because it didn't have an overwhelming amount of basic ass side quests that I either had to slog through or pay for an exp boost to skip.

I love Odyssey but IDK if I'll get Origins. The Egyptian setting isn't as appealling to me as Greece

Curse explores some really cool aspects of the faith and culture of Ancient Egypt that I really enjoyed.

Yeah I just mean combat-wise there's nothing really different, they're just bigger, stronger versions of enemy archetypes you've already seen all game. Except the scorpions but you can OHKO those from a distance with the sniper bow that gives you fire arrows.

Oh I didn't even care about the enemies, I just loved exploring the different iterations of the afterlife, and seeing their interpretation of the Akhenaten since I've only seen that in one other game.
