From time to time....I consider trying online dating...just to see what happens......and right when I'm about to give it a go....I stumble upon information like this.

Guess I'll just have to keep trying to meet them the old fashioned way.

For real. In person. Without some stupid digital screen between us. With a profile full of lies and 1000 messages from thirsty liars in my inbox.

Without needing to make it into some kind of ridiculously self-serving social media extravaganza where you validate your existence based on your likes and subscribes and stuff.

No, just people who think it's normal to want to use power to rape and torture.

Have you met the average high schooler these days?

Powder kegs of raw emotion and sexual repression. A lot of them are bullied, too.

God protect us all if a Death Note were to ever fall into their hands for real.

The entire point of Death Note is pretty much to indicate that Light was a fuck up from the beginning. Having the Note didn't change him, it just revealed who he always was, right from the start. He was only the straight-A student who seemed like a good person because that's what society expected him to be, and the socially acceptable mask he wore because he wasn't willing to risk breaking the rules.

He wasn't a noble, good person who was slowly turned evil. He was basically a serial killer who figured out a way to put a noble face on his killing so people wouldn't object as strongly (a not-too-dissimilar mentality to the one being espoused by the Joker in The Dark Knight).

I mean, you're definitely not wrong. But I think there were more subtleties to it than that.

Light was a batshit crazy killer......but his first instinct was to kill bad people.

All the bad people.

He wanted to better the world.

And he could have been a LOT more sadistic than he was. He could have easily written some of the most gruesome, drawn-out, agonizing, torture deaths imaginable for his victims. But he didn't. He usually just let them die from a sudden heart attack. There's something to be said about that.

Most high school students would have started torturing and raping people like crazy.

Light took out the bad guys with calculated coldbloodedness.

He wasn't entirely bad.

And people wonder why marriage is on the decline. People have finally caught on to how ridiculous it is.

It's not easy.

Anyone who thinks it's all romance and endless love are fools.

And a LOT of people have been conditioned to believe that something should be tossed out the moment it starts to bore you. This includes other human beings.

I hate when they blame it on depression or other mental conditions.

Because in one way....you are an insensitive ass if you hold that against them.

But in another way....they could easily be using that as a BS excuse to cover any bad decision they ever make.

This is why I've made it a personal rule to NEVER date someone who takes a lot of prescription medication. Has bipolar disorder. Some kind of emotional trauma and needs to see a therapist or something for.

Because I can't tell you how many guys I have known and been very close friends with....who would have a girlfriend/wife with a condition like that.....and she uses it constantly as an excuse to be a toxic bitch.

"I'm sorry I burned your favorite shirt, called your mom a whore, slapped you across the face, and cheated on you. I forgot to take my pills that day!"

Um. No.

g'bye.

If college was free, there are a number of frightening things that would happen:

1.) Employers would stop giving two shits whether a person went to college or not.
2.) A LOT of students would be dropping out because they can't maintain the grades to remain in college.
3.) Colleges will start demanding higher grades and other ridiculous requirements in order to stay in college, to compensate for the enormous influx of new students who are only there because it's free.
4.) Taxes would go up in other departments to make up for the money lost on tuition. Such as: the cost of books and other stuff they will try to wriggle out of paying for.
5.) The quality of college will degrade significantly, making people not want to go.
6.) Private universities that DO cost money....will spike. And private universities will be able to legally bind students in very disturbing ways, such as pushing specific religious and political viewpoints on them that state schools do enough as it is already....but will be even worse in the private universities.

Either way, no matter how you slice it, we're all gunna eat dat shit sandwich.

To be fair, Chad isn't interested in girls that have standards, a personality, any intelligence at all.....because he knows he can't manipulate them the way he does all those thots.

So you should be flattered that the only girls you have a chance with are the ones Chad isn't interested in.

Well, it's a lot like those people who said they were going to move to Canada after Trump became president....and then they realized how much they depended on the freedoms of their country in order to enjoy their life. So they stayed.

A similar psychology takes place when people complain about internet trolls....but never add them to their ignore list. Because they secretly, deep down, love the trolls. Rely on the trolls for entertainment. Get much validation and satisfaction from pointlessly debating with those trolls. They could never ignore them. They love them.

Ironic that people would need to be baited with a book about "steamy sex involving underage boys"....to absorb the message that such a thing is bad, sexist, and treated differently by society when a woman is the perpetrator.

I feel conflicted on this.

The author's motivation for creating the novel....is to bring awareness to the double standard of teachers sleeping with students.

When it's a male teacher....he is immediately seen as a monster by the media (and understandably so).

But when it's a female teacher.....the media will focus on how attractive she is. Maybe even investigate to see if the male students manipulated HER into having sex. See her as a victim more than anything else. Lots of jokes in the comments section about "I wish I had teachers like that when I was in school!" and how the boys she took advantage of "werent victims in the slightest!" etc.

Lots of "har har" jokes.

SNL even made fun of it with that sketch series "Teacher Trial". (Which is hilarious, btw).

But if the author's intention was to bring awareness to this double standard.....why glorify and romanticize it with a graphic sexual novel???

I'm wondering if that was truly her intention.....or if she's just using it as a smokescreen to bash masculinity in a sick, twisted fantasy of her own.

The fact that this book even got a publisher is troubling.

If a male author wrote a book about a male teacher who preys on female students because he wants to sleep with them before they are "polluted by other men" or "become toxic nagging women".......the author would probably be arrested.

My exstepdad put matches out on my arm as punishment for burning a single blade of grass with a lighter.

My mom spanked me a few times, but nothing traumatic.

My biological father spanked me with a ping pong paddle when I was like 8 years old. I remember it broke in half one time and I laughed so hard.

Other than that.....pretty normal childhood.

Most punishments came in the form of grounding me to my room. And no, I wasn't one of those kids where their bedroom was their sanctuary. No TV. No music. No video games. Just me staring at the ceiling.
