Wait how is sending a brand new pair instead of fixing the old one bad?

Unless you had a limited edition model or something that is a straight up good thing.
As an example, Ryobi products with small engines (string trimmers, hedge trimmers, etc.) are not made to be repaired and you're usually better off buying a new one if it breaks. While it may seem like an inferior product to almost every other brand that is much more repairable, Ryobis are usually $100 to $150 cheaper than the competition, so they still see a lot of use. Joycons, with their poor lifespan, and Nintendo just giving you new ones when they break (because they will), clashes wildly with the fact that they charge MORE than the competition for something clearly disposable to them.

Games on the Switch almost never see a permanent price cut, and when sales do happen, you're lucky to get 30% off. If the Switch was up to snuff with the other consoles on the market, this wouldn't be an issue, but it simply isn't the case. Ports of multiplats almost always suffer a loss in resolution or framerate, if not both. Breath of the Wild is one of the Switch's killer apps (and it IS a very good game), but even it suffers from performance issues. Ports of 10 year old games will almost always be $30 and never see a significant price cut. If you plan on playing a lot of these, it'll be cheaper in the long run to buy a used PS3 or 360 and buy most of them for $10 or less, if not $5 or less. Joycons are fucking $80 and barely last a year of regular play, and instead of repairing them, Nintendo just sends you a new pair. There are absolutely a lot of good games on the Switch, and I'm glad to have played them, but I don't think they justify the eternal full price for Switch games that are 3 years old or barely changed Wii U ports that are sometimes 7 years old. That's not even getting into how they sometimes charge MORE for an inferior version of current-, or even last-gen games. The Switch Tax has thankfully been removed on Resident Evil games, but it's a squirt gun versus a house fire.

they still do.
one (or more) of their mobile FF games are crammed with FMVs.
I'm pretty sure all of Nier Automata's "movie bar" cutscenes are also FMVs, as costume changes aren't reflected in them and my computer was pulling a steady 30 on them. FMVs generally stick out like a sore thumb on ports of last-gen games; most of Resident Evil 5's QTE cutscenes were FMVs and they're now lower quality than the rest of the game. Even RE6, which has way wackier action than 5, still had to lean on FMVs for 2 cutscenes.

I'll try to make this simple because I don't want anyone to miss out on this amazing game.

If you're all in on the game:

Don't have Hitman 1? Buy Hitman 2 Gold Edition and the GOTY Legacy Pack ($36)
Have Hitman 1 but not the DLC? Buy Hitman 2 Gold Edition and the GOTY Legacy Upgrade Pack ($33)
Have Hitman 1 and the DLC? Buy Hitman 2 Gold Edition ($30)

If you're not too sure on the DLC:

Don't have Hitman 1? Buy Hitman 2 Standard Edition and the GOTY Legacy Pack ($24)
Have Hitman 1 but not the DLC? Buy Hitman 2 Standard Edition and the GOTY Legacy Upgrade Pack ($21)
Have Hitman 1 and the DLC? Buy Hitman 2 Standard Edition ($18)

I know it might be weird for me to recommend Hitman 1's content so hard, but it's more content for a third of the price. Plus, the story won't make sense if you jump into 2 without playing 1.

Unfortunately, progress is NOT transferred between 1 and 2 (although you will be able to transfer progress between 2 and 3), but Hitman 2 has many quality of life changes that make 1 hard to go back to.

For the record,
Hitman 1 contains 6 full levels and 2 tutorials.
Hitman 1's DLC consists of some costumes and 4 remixed levels that are, in my opinion, worth the price of admission.
Hitman 2 contains 5 full levels and 1 tutorial, although it's much closer to a proper level than the ones in 1, along with 1 sniper map.
Hitman 2's DLC contains 2 full levels, 2 sniper maps, 4 remixed levels, and a bunch of costumes. I haven't played these remix levels, but I assume it would be on par with 1's.

The quality of the full levels generally increases from 1 to 2, and I would say 2's DLC levels are on average better than 2's levels on average.

That's for the Standard Edition. Gold Edition (includes 2 full maps plus some remixed missions, sniper missions, and costumes) will run you $30, and in either case, you're still going to want all the content from Season 1, which is the GOTY Legacy Pack, which is $6. Note that this is NOT the GOTY Legacy Pack Upgrade, which is just the DLC from 1 in case you already own 1; in case you do, it's $3). I fucking hate the pricing schemes, but all of the content is EASILY worth full price, so I can't complain.

(copied from an earlier post for better visibility)
