Yeah, that's not really a spoiler at all. I've long since assumed that the magical battles are just representations of the real events made to look like magic. Like the battle between George and Gaap, George was probably actually just shot in the head, but the battle with Gaap was shown in order to obfuscate the truth.

I will say this reveal makes Beatrice's attitude towards battle make a bit more sense. She's frustrated he isn't the real Battler, and was hoping he would remember this past event. It was frustrating to me that she wouldn't just say what was on her mind, but not it makes sense as she needed to know if this Battler knew it or not. As long they story doesn't try to pull something dumb with this 'sin' and blame the killings solely on it things might be OK.

I give him a pass for being dumb there because what he being provoked into doing is so out of left field I can't blame him for not understanding what he is stepping into.

Like, it's hard for me to even know how much of this to take seriously considering I think there is a somewhat good change most of this stuff is just part of Ange's imagination.

I think that this call Jessica makes to Battler happened. Which means she was able to fight off the real killer but left mortally wounded. That's interesting. I don't know if Kinzo could actually physically do that, especially to both her and George.

Jessica and George got played by the demons. Too bad, I almost though they could have won there. But obviously, all this anime fighting is just elaborate imaginings for what really happened. I definitely noticed how George's body was conveniently put back together and killed in a more conventional way.

Both George's and Jessica's scenes have been very cooler. It seems like, as the normal and magical worlds further converge on the island, that only due the forces of magic grow but perhaps also the strength of humans grow as well.

Episode 4 has my favorite Island Events by far I think. I'm really hyped to see what these tests are!! Also Battler declaring war on Kinzo, and Kinzo responding in kind was great.

I think Ange is pretty cool, and I've liked the stuff in the 'future' for the most part. It was the flashbacks that were hard to get through, both because some real rough stuff happened in them and it was kinda boring at times too.

I'm talking about the scene that occurs right after Ange meets with the boat captain to ask him to take her to Rokkenjima. As she is leaving, see says she can see something but neither the captain or Amakusa see it. Ange and her horrible imaginary friends react to it, but unless I missed it they never say what it is.

So I think I have a better understanding of what is happening with Shannon and Kanon. I think that Kinzo read about familiars and witch servants in one of his books, and sought to get his own. So he trains the servants as "furniture" to almost play out his magic fantasy, to imitate what he has learned in his fantasy books in the real world.

Unfortunately I had to stop during the middle of the scene, but so far what I saw did not disappoint. I wouldn't mind seeing a version of this with no murders but Kinzo actually DOES interview all the grandchildren to find a real successor.

Also these Ange scenes show there are outside forces like the Sumaderas who have a vested interest in seeing Kinzo's whole family dead. Since they would then have control over the last surviving Ushiromiya in Ange, that there is a good reason have someone sneak onto the island to preform assassinations. And since Kinzo may have been dead since before the conference, this does leave room for an 18th person we don't know about.

I AM really intrigued by this idea that possible Kinzo has been dead from the beginning in EVERY episode. I don't think there's anything to contradict that that I can think of, especially you take any scene between him and the servants as seriously as like, the ones with the purgatory sisters and laser blades ( as in, not at all ).
