I'm not saying that it was a strong end game situation, but I think its not just conceivable, but likely that Gothel's next (and only play) is to convince Rapunzel that her obedience is the only thing keeping him alive.
I'm not sure how much she could have done in that situation to (1) get away and (2) prevent Flynn from following immediately, but assuming she'd managed to do that then she's in the position of power again. If Rapunzel heals him and allows herself to be led away then she'd find herself bound up and unable to make full use of her hair. It still isn't a very good end game at that point because of the chance that Rapunzel would refuse food and let herself die. Honestly Gothel was super screwed but she still could have made months or years hell for Rapunzel. But even so her ability to manipulate Rapunzel psychologically had been shown throughout the movie and so while it is unlikely that Rapunzel would ever be in her camp again she would still have allowed herself to be used to extend her life. Maybe it would be the sort of thing where she says "oh btw I have assassins who will kill Flynn if I ever do not check in with them for more than X days" forcing her to play ball. Charon, I understand you are upset because you lost Jack, but you are pretty much the only one who feels like Xuxon was legitimately wronged. (and yourself by association)
It is unfortunate (for you) that stitch was saved before Xuxon could save him. And everyone agrees that had he done so then ermine's hands would have been bound. But if I if we agree that I trade Char X and you Trade Char Y, but then Char X is saved before I can vote you are not bound to save Char Y. 2. Dragonite 3. Torterra 4. Golduck 5. Arcanine 6. Graveller 7. Feraligatr 8. Magikarp 9. Gastly 10. Ivysaur And 11th was Gyarados. I remember because I got Gyarados vs Magikarp as my 11th place match and I was very upset. Also Golem was a ****ing beast. I think he eliminated like 50 pokemon. Golem probably could have made my top 10 but he ran into Dragonair with like 200 to go.
