Some male megastars reach high success because their appeal reaches both female AND male demographics. Jenn Lawrence has no shortage of popularity with male consumers, particularly in regards to her looks. That charm is not as big of a selling point with female consumers and her acting is not exactly irreplaceable.

If more women as consumers helped promote her as a favored icon and persuaded more men to support her work, there could be a shift. Statistically, she's SOL on that one. Female consumers are less likely to pay to see actresses like Lawrence. And activist takes like this article are actually NOT strong motivators with consumers regardless of sex. Some women will actually roll their eyes whenever they hear another pampered Hollywood bombshell whine about gender pay inequity in a field where she's still more privileged than 95% of the world.

Because the issue at hand rather it being lying or not is irrelevant to the fact that you are trying to argue one thing thing in favor of the notion of a lie when in reality that plays little to nothing at hand. Because content can be changed or removed at almost any point in development.

I'm also saying that while cutting corners, CDPR still provided a "full" experience - like, if you didn't know what was advertised/potentially cut, outside of it feeling like a mostly bare bones, deeply flawed game, you couldn't claim anything was missing.

however, if a montage was used to fill in gaps, IYO, you didn't like how it was handled, or whatever, it doesn't mean the game is unfinished; it means, at worst, they used an alternative method to complete it.

montages don't happen often in games, so when they do, they're going to stand out, for better or for worse, and it seemed like they wanted to try something different.

do I deny some of the story could have been cut? no, but I don't necessarily feel like it happened during the opening montage.

and let's say that the montage was used to skip through a chunk of the story like you're trying to argue, it being used as a replacement for more fleshed out content doesn't mean the game is unfinished, it just means that a different storytelling method was used to help complete it.

regardless of what you feel about the opening montage, it doesn't mean that the game is unfinished if the developers intentionally choose to tell some of its story in that way.

Nah, a lot of people noticed that pre-release, Jackie was only shown in the early parts of the game, before Johnny was with V. That combined with the fact that we had a literal trailer showing Jackie being shot and killed... We knew he wasn't going to be a major part of the story.

Oh, they 100% sold a lie and should be eternally shamed for it. But what the game actually was is decent and they should have just sold it as it is.
