I would tell you a deck that easy beats most npcs, but you already said you dont have lunar bahamut which is needed to play with matoya as the linchpin of the strategy.

I have also beaten all NPCs. It's just this last one in the Lochs to have cards I'm missing has gone 20+ matches already without giving up a single drop. It's really just rng being a massive tool.

I am done farming Raw Emotions for the relics. I need 125 of the Artifacts now for the nine remaining weapons. War is the only tank left that needs the weapon upgrades; the healers are done.

Tonight I finally cleared Ruby. I have gotten a hang of most of the fight, I think, save for the latter half of when he dashes around the arena with the claw-wing-whatever extended. Hopefully I can get the gwiber soon, and we as a fc mount group can move on to the next thing. I still need to go back to Hades and get that mount.

I'm also still trying to grind out some mettle since I'm at 6/10/6 (plus some Proofs) on the Honors. I should be doing Duels soon, especially since that is supposed to be a guarantee for Sart's field note in addition to the achievements in general.

I have no idea if I will be able to make 150 mounts or 350 minions by EW's early access, but we shall see. The raptor did not drop from Dalriada, so I'm greatly annoyed by that.

Speaking of annoyed, Paglth'an and Hell's Kier still have not dropped their cards for me. =|

Those two, the two from one NPC in the Lochs, the cards from MM and Emerald, and a few others are all that remain for me before I get the triple triad mount. RNG gatekeeping my progress is downright frustrating, time consuming, and draining of mental energy I don't exactly have to spare on days I come home from work. But I must keep trying.

Another mount I would like to get is from E4s. It's a multi-seater, which I want to collect as many of in case I get the chance to taxi people to aether currents for gil, and it looks like the Epoch from Chrono Trigger.

Gods, only three and a half months to go...

I barely touched pvp between Baldesion Arsenal runs roughly a year ago, and had last touched pvp toward the start of the Garo crossover event before that (unless you count the two runs of Rival Wings upon release). I do not envy you on that end, but congrats on getting so much done mount-wise.

I usually spend the first several months of an expansion leveling everything up to max, then I spend several months leveling the crafters and gatherers.

I don't remember if I beat Paper on this or not during Shadowbringers, because I started four and a half months late due to life reasons.

https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/9038736/

Even now life, mostly work, keeps me from staying ahead on mounts or relic weapons. When I started my forced break two years (and a month) ago, I was ninth on Gilgamesh for achievements. Right now I'm 20th.

Oh my God, I actually got a few wins. I even got a Draw in one match which I don't ever remember seeing before, and I was one of the teams that won that game lol

Well done.

Anywho, this evening I reached the achievement for acquiring 20mil gil from leves. If I ever touch another coffee biscuit again, it will be way too soon. That said, there are a few leves per crafter class I'd like to complete before EW comes along, because of my early-EW plans in regards to achievements. I want to hit 90 and get the next round of unique leves achievements at around the same time.

On that note, I have a suspicion that the Temple Leves from HW will be phased out of existence. Like if the next achievements call for 120 unique Leves, then there will be zero need for anyone to touch the Temple Leves ever again, even for achievement hunting purposes. Time will tell.

Also, I have not done any runs of Dalriada in about a week since that abhorrent run I had last Saturday morning. I went in on Brd, decided to stay because the party I got into had a healer and a green dps. Well... They both died a lot, especially toward the end. And the party ended up dying a lot because of their lack of heals even when they were alive; in fact half of their own deaths and most of mine were due to said lack of heals. I like being able to heal content, and often call myself a heal main, but I am also a Brd main and like having the freedom of running on actual DPS, which it seems I will be unable to do for the next ten or so runs I have left of Dalriada.

That damned raptor mount better drop. I was in such a foul mood at the end of that last run, I didn't even open the chest it comes from. -.-

Three things SE could do now to cement its newfound kingdom in the MMO market:

1) Get more servers or Data Centers going asap (not just Oceanic DCs).

2) Improve the lag and latency that NA Data Centers, especially, are notorious for.

3) Hire on some more staff for some dedicated PvP development, including (but not limited to) more not-so-expansive maps and modes, so that the PvP-centric players out there will have something to look forward to.

On the third point, I have a friend and former co-worker who has considered coming to FFXIV from WoW, but she needs that PvP like a diabetic person needs insulin, more or less. I told her that, unfortunately, PvP in XIV is one of its weakest points, and she understood albeit sadly.

I had a Dalriada run in which I popped the lower-end Profane (as opposed to the Deep one), and then my two co-healers proceeded to die . . . a lot. And the red DPS died a lot because the healers barely healed. Like, my Profane-impacted heals were most of what we got the whole run. Had I parsed the run, I would have beaten my whole group on dps and heals, both, having died only once because everyone saw a stack marker on me and ran the other way despite me going toward them. Less than a minute later, I *still* managed to hit #1 or #2 aggro for the party for Dawon and Mene.

Like, what the heck even? I'm not that good, people!

Yes, once you're around... I want to say lv15 in the main story's quests? Either then or when you unlock Grand Companies. Anyways! You gain access to a quest that unlocks retainers for storage--unlocking their ventures they can go out on is another quest later on--and then you can hire up to two for free from the major cities. You also, as Paper said, have the Saddlebag that nets you the extra carrying space outside of dungeons/instances.

I finally got my Gabriel Mark III. It dropped on my 48th clear of DRn. Also, I got my 50th clear, with each of the last few clears taking about 18-20 minutes (depending largely on the number of deaths).

So next I'm shooting for eighteen more clears of Dalriada, then I'm going from there.

After that will have to come the duels (I should get Sart's field note from his fight), my next go at solo HoH, some more Palace grinding, and any additional DR runs or mettle grinding besides. Also: the Gogo clear I've yet to do. lol

A DR Savage clear, just one, would be nice too so I can 1) say I've done it, and 2) acquire another multi-seater mount. On that note, I should get the Gwibers once I have the time for them, and maybe see about learning and clearing E4s for that mount. As for Astrope, that's still looking like April of next year unless I do the Deutsch trick with a few buddies and spam a guildhest. <_<

Oh yeah, and I'm now sitting at 8902 commendations.

I am currently at 8842 commendations, having earned nine more today alone from Mentor Roulette runs. People may or may not enjoy how I play Whm in casual content, or the tricks I have for certain dungeons that are hardly used or spoken of nowadays. hahaha...

I mean, really, I was in ARF just now (the first lv60 dungeon), and I did things like telling the tank (who asked how I like big pulls) that I like my pulls like I like my toys, marking one of the turrets in the first boss with a "Do Not Attack" marker (we beat the boss before it finished self-detonating), noting how thaumaturges need to die before conjurors in the last line of trash pulls (after two of the party members got hit with Breakga right before the first thaumaturge died), and so on. Oh! and handling the T8 Lite mechanics during the second boss, because so many people apparently don't know how to do the buddy ring or explosion marker. =p

Last night I had a run of Delubrum Reginae that took sixteen minutes, almost to the dot. It was beautiful. Like, the boss fight against the four mechanical guys went super fast, and we didn't even lift up into the air during Bombslinger.

I went to bed with my Honors at 3/8/3, and only 13.4mil mettle away from upgrading Valor a ninth time. If I stick with DR and Dal, only doing skirmishes to pad out the costs of dying (or to try for those field notes), until I reach the 50x achievements, I will fall just shy of adding 18 proofs' worth of Honors (plus the two proofs I have right now). So grind out that last 1.8mil, and that will be more than enough to get to 4/10/6.

That is not terrible. And I may do more of those two things, and some more Castrum, for relic grind reasons anyhow. Eventually I'll go back to PotD for the remaining Artifacts, or HoH for a solo attempt (plus potential Emotions), but quite a few of my pre-xpac goals will be met by sticking the course. Now if only I didn't have to work as much. lol

I am so annoyed with the four field notes I have remaining. Like, I have better things to do with my time than hang out in z2 of Zadnor for a skirmish that may or may not spawn, fight it, and then NOT get the desired drop for the umpteenth time. The other three, at least, can come from the duels, so there's a chance I'll get them there. But we should have to; drop rates should not be this low. Especially in Zadnor where people are bound to be hanging out anyway to get our Honors, because that's another grind as well. Never we mind the relic drops people need. <_<

Speaking of which, I am currently at 132/180 Loathsome Memories, 22/195 Timeworn Artifacts (possibly the worst repeatable step of this relic line), and 50/210 Raw Memories. Once I have those desired numbers, I will finish the remaining relic weapons.

I got my Drg pants from Zadnor today. I upgraded the Striking ring like I said I'd do and grabbed another 520 one, so next week I'll do the same for casters. Then I will consider between the HQ 515 gear this late autumn on the remaining slots, or just filling them up with augmented Cryptlurker stuff so I won't have to spent time or effort gearing up alt jobs for the first few levels into the expansion. Once I get the caster ring done next week, however, I'm upgrading the 520s my Ninja is wearing over the course of four weeks.

The day before servers go down in preparation for open bet-- I mean Early Access, I will throw all of my belts at Maelstrom, pick up some extra Dark Matter, and make sure all else is done beforehand as far as running content goes. Aetheryte Tickets ought to be well-stocked too. Then I can hit the ground running . . . at least until Raubahn once again stops everyone single-handedly. =p

The golden age of WoW ended when Mists of Pandaria came out. Like if I were to hop myself on excessive painkillers and spend time I don't have on any form of WoW again, it'd be Classic BC or Classic WotLK, as that was when the game was at its best of the two times I played it. For years people have wondered if any new game would be a "WoW killer," but the irony was that WoW killed WoW.

Thanks to the runs of Dalriada I have been doing, I have some nice 525 gear for some of my jobs. Four more coins until Dragoon has some decent pants.

On that note, I should have to upgrade the Cryptlurker ring Sam, Mnk, and Drg wear so I can buy another and fill the second slot with a 520 at least. Then I just need to replace the 440 neck and wrist for them, as well as the hands and . . . either pants or boots for the two Striking jobs (I forget which slot). I'm fairly certain it's the shoes, because I might be wearing the decent pants from Paradigm's Breach? Anyways, if need be, I will wait for the i515 gear to come out in EW, make those missing slots, and go that route.

Now if only tanks had a wider selection of decent gear outside of Savage raiding. The fact that my tanks will finish this expansion below 520 average bothers me, but not enough to go do the third tier Savage fights when I have so much else that takes more priority, like getting the 15k score achievement from Ocean Fishing. <_<

How long would you say it takes to go from Rank 21 to 25 and do Dalriada?

With an active party and no duel buff? A z3 group can get you from 22 to 25 in a single lockout, and hanging out in z2 (plus CEs) will get you from 21 to 22 in a mere fraction of the time. Then comes the wait for Dal, which is faster if people are actively doing stuff in Zadnor, and a single run can take roughly half an hour. So let's say about five hours from r21 to the ending cutscenes of the Bozjan story.
