I have been at my current job for over six and a half months now, and I'm not tired of cooking yet, though there have been evenings where I'd get home and not want to put in too much effort in my own meal. That said, I agree that some things are so easy, like potatoes, that they should never be "instant." You might as well be paying for canned air at that point.

I keep hearing both ways, that it's either via proximity/breath or that it can be contracted via touch. All it'd take is ordering something online and then handling that thing when it arrives without protective gloves on.

I watched a playthrough. I'm unsure if the person playing it just sucked--they did use the Thunder spell but a tad sparingly--or if the boss overstayed its welcome by being a damage sponge and doing a few mechanics a couple too many times.

Also I'm waiting to touch the VII Remake until the entirety of it is out.

Yes. After he does that gaze attack that puts people to sleep, he follows it up with a wide aoe. You can stun it, but most people don't. Now you know, ||and knowing is half the battle||.

Anywho, the next post will close off the topic. If you want me to, I can make the next FFXIV Discussion topic when the time comes, or you can do the next, or we can let this thing go. Up to you. lol

I ended up going Alliance Raids roulette on Monk, and it didn't go anywhere as bad as I thought it might. I got Dun Scaith, and actually ended up teaching much of the raid that Diobolos can be stunned in that first phase. My rotation wasn't terrible either, I don't think. I am still laughing, though, about one person in Alliance chat, "You can stun him?!" xD

One more Trust run of Hominster will get my Sam and half my NPCs to 73. I might rethink things a little since it doesn't seem to be taking as long as I had calculated or prepared for, but yeah, it's time to get things leveled.

Rioka and I redid the upper floor of his house for a start since he relocated across the street from his previous cottage a few months ago. We still have the lower floor to do, but the upper one looks nice. I can see Aster, Rioka, and Lyra eating at the table or hanging out on the sofas by the big windows.

The two of us are also still looking around for things to do together that's away from FFXIV, but we each tend to play single-player games. lol...

Anywho, Drg is my next job I will be doing with Pixies and FATEs while I continue to do Trust dungeons with Sam and Mnk. If I finish the two jobs off doing the first three Trust NPCs, I will use Drg to top off the NPCs to 80. Then I'll do the next three NPCs on Pld and Drk, using Gnb to close things up if necessary (otherwise plain dungeon runs).

I have to mid-February to get my remaining jobs to 80 so I no longer feel like I am catching up. Here's to that progression.

Again, I intend to do O2n runs unsynced with any tanks who are interested. We should be able to down it quickly and easily, and get people closer to their desired tank mounts.

Good job on the mounts. Hopefully soon I can get some more of the mounts I'm working on. My work schedule has been depriving me of much needed time to work on much besides the gear and materia for crafters/gatherers. At least Crafters are done for now, save for a Cunning V on each tool) until 5.3. Speaking of character progression, I am going to need materials to make my facet tools, at least for Min and Btn. I have the abrasive I need to make the ingots, but I'm going to need the ore, the aethersand, and a couple other materials. Any help I can get on this would be appreciated. I would gather the high-end mats myself, but I may or may not need higher stats, not to mention I haven't gotten the ShB lorebooks yet for my gatherers. That's on my to-do list, but I'd like to prioritize the tools first since those will help me get to point B or C a little quicker.

And no, I'm not spending more gil on facet gear. lol

I have started leveling Fsh. Today I got it from 72 to 76 by spearfishing for enough turn-ins for three different leves. Another round of spearfishing for turn-ins in Il Mheg might do the trick or come really close; we'll see. I am not going to worry about upgrading my fishing rod until 5.3.

I ran Holinster with my Trust NPCs and on Sam. The first attempt went fine until Urianger died at the last boss at 30-ish percent and I wiped at 5%. I had to log off at that point because of work, but my second attempt went more smoothly.

My plan with Trusts is to run each dungeon with Sam and Mnk, and then use Drg if necessary; then I'll do the same with Drk and Pld, with the remainder on Gnb. The third job in either role will hit the next level range via FATEs.

Meanwhile, I aim to get my Dex jobs all to 72+ so I can save that one ring slot. Then I will decide which job to level with FATEs next; Nin, Dnc, or Blm. Mch is going to be last. While I FATE grind, I will get Kholusia's Shared FATEs to 59/60 towards the third rank, and hold off on any additional FATEs in that zone until Mch is within range to hit 80 with the finale.

I'll use the additional gemstones for minions and materials. Oh gods, materials... I had to spend a couple hundred gemstones on Cubus Flesh yesterday so I could make a ton of Cunning Syrup collectibles. At least weekly reset is upon us, so I can use Custom Deliveries to make a small dent in what I have remaining for materia. Just 207 Command VIIs and 80+ Cunning Vs to go, and it'll be time to imitate every Michael Bay film. Then I get to look at gathering gear. @_@

Gnb is 70, so that saves me a set of gear now; and also the quests for it are done to that point.. I also made new tools for my gatherers so it'll be a smidge easier to get the skybuilder mats I need. I may get to work on the facet turn-ins as well. I'll do them on Btn since Min seems to be leveling a little faster at the moment (Btn is only higher because I gathered 480 skybuilder white ash logs).

It's going to take so many Cunning VIIs (80+) and Command VIIs (420+) to finish my overmelds on crafters until 5.3.

I don't know why I did this, but I meant Cunning Vs. Big difference there. At this point, though, I should be able to tweak my Ishgard crafting macros and wreck the remaining skybuilder scrips. I need to make more bluespirit tiles and gather the remaining materials before that, however. Once I am done with the gorilla mount, I will try to budget some time for yellow scrip grinding so I can get the materia I need.

Command VIIs first. That'll be something like 48 control total per crafter once the tools are done with that particular stat. Of course, I can always hope rng decides I have suffered enough during my crafting career. lol

It's going to take so many Cunning VIIs (80+) and Command VIIs (420+) to finish my overmelds on crafters until 5.3. Also the last Comp VII for my belt, but priorities... xD.

Before having made and melded my belt and accs this morning--yeah, they were still the lv70 awesome pieces I had--I was able to HQ an Urban glam for someone with NQ mats. I'm a touch or two stronger already, and probably will be even more so once the crafter melds are done. I also looked at the recipes, and noticed that anything up to level 22 can be made HQ with only a single use of Delicate Synth. Throw in a quick use of Great Strides, and that's anything up to level 43, though you can skip that GS and go for the ability that instantly HQs anything 10 levels below you. So... *shrugs* ...and then I did the math for when my melds are done on the current set. I'll be missing the same effect on lv23 recipes by roughly 30 control. The next crafter set in 5.3, fully melded, will more than certainly be enough for that. lol

My Rdm is 80, caster role quests are done, the big tie-in quest is done, and I cleaned up the quests for lv80 jobs I have so the achievements are earned and quest bubbles gone. I also hit that stupid music conductor thing a couple more times to get the music roll and call it good on Starlight so that I can just hit the next event on my two main characters.

Now I'm mainly grabbing mats and getting ready to make my belt and accs for crafters so I can meld and equip those. Then I need to find a good macro. Also, I still need to finish up my skybuilder scrips, which should be easy with the stats I'll have shortly.

I have this Sunday off, so I mean to level Gnb some as well.

I was mining yellow alumen in Amh Araeng, and I got the "Mining: Stormblood" achievement. XD I guess because technically the wording is 61-70 nodes, and Amh Araeng, while not a Stormblood zone, has level 70 nodes lol

Yep. Crafting has a similar deal with Namazu crafts and the custom deliveries where the level ranges fall into the prior expansion from time to time, so you can pop achievements for those lower level ranges while doing them. It's a bit on the silly side.

So, progress report time:

My crafters are all 80 and need new gear, as well as three of the Masterbook VIIs (Gsm, Wvr, Alc). I did so much crafting while watching the entirety of Netflix's Watcher series. Most of the Facet turn-ins still need to be done, and I still need 3300 more Skybuilder Scrips to get the gorilla mount.

My Min and Btn are both 75, and Fsh is still 70 where I left it in 4.3 after doing my last go at big fishing. I plan to work on these slowly, but surely, while I level the next two combat jobs to 80; maybe three depending on the time it takes. I'll have to be sure to finish these facets as well.

Gnb is 63, and I intend to run it through dungeons in earnest soon. I may or may not have to stay on top of the leftside gear and weapon until 70 so it'll be relatively painless to do those trash pulls and bosses.

Rdm is 75 plus three fifths of a level bar. Pixie dailies are a great supplement going forward, but I will soon make some level 76 gear so I can FATE grind to 80. I intend to max my Il Mheg rank with this job, followed by Amh Araeng. We'll see how Tempest FATEs treat me when I get up there with that same set of gear. I have a mix of Goetia and Warg gear waiting for my Rdm already as well, though I will need to get a new weapon when it is time (I'd rather not waste the space). Then I will finally do the Caster Role Quests, followed by the final quest that ties all those together.

  • Once these role quests and facets are done, the only non-repeatable quests I'll have remaining are the level 80 job quests I haven't already done.

Once Gnb and Rdm are 80, I will FATE grind and Pixie quest my Drg next, and do the Trust leveling with Sam and Mnk. Those dungeon drops will be a solid help, me thinks. Pld and Drk will also be running those dungeons since the Trust NPCs only have one tank among them, but two healers and three DPS.

I am thinking Nin and Dnc after those are done, followed by Blm, and then that should leave Mch. I still want to line that one up with getting the last ShB area to rank 3. I doubt I will hit the 10k FATE achievement as well, but a girl can dream big.

Also, I'm still hovering around the same amount of gil now as I had when I last logged in in June. lol...

I made a little table on my computer's Notepad to figure out what I need if I assume 42 turn-ins per crafter (sans Culinarian since it's done already). 1008 skybuilders' molybdenum, 756 of a couple other mats, 504 of a few, and 252 of just one of the skybuilder ones.

That's not counting things like beetle glue, oroshigane ingots, tiger leather... most of those things I can easily make HQ to give myself a small lead-in for those crafts. The Alchemist one needs two Bear Fat per synth, which I have no control over the quality for.

With this, though, I'm positive I will hit 80 on all crafters once I have the time to make it all.

I do still have my dailies afterall; Expert for weekly tomes, Leveling on Gnb, Alliance on Rdm, Pixie quests on Rdm. Also: sleep and work schedule. x_x

I might be mistaken but I think Firmament is the fastest way to level crafters now? I spent many many hours doing crafter leves in the weeks before 5.1 to get everything to 80. lol

It really is stupid fast. Macro craft, with decent gear, about 42 of the right item, and that's 71 to 80 knocked out; plus skybuilder scrips per DoH. So now I need mats for that, which shouldn't be too long.

I decided to give the Firmament crafting a try, starting with Cul. As a result, Cul is level 80. I have a bunch of beetle glue on Lyra, but it's normal quality, so I need to make a ton of HQ for Armorer's sake. Good thing I have a couple hundred venture tokens to work with.
