The lions have accepted the reality of the NFL: even if you don't have a top tier QB (depending on how you feel about goff ofc), you just don't let that guy go if he's good, which goff def is. The position is the most valuable commodity in sports, if you overpay you overpay and deal with the consequences later.

I do think goff is always going to be undersold because of how rough his time in LA was, but I do think he's played beyond that being fair at this point. There are far worse gambles the lions could be taking (See: Cousins)

I don't think it's worse. It doesn't have the top prospect that you like but I think several of the top guys have high floors with solid skills that will help them become NBA regulars.

yeah I enjoyed it, I put a lot of stock into the little things like how easy the pieces are to see on the background, how pleasant the noises are, etc. It's just a very chill theme

the advanced stats don't do much for me (I mean, Sabonis had more offensive and defensive win shares than Luka this year) but if that's your argument I can't say you're wrong

I'm not saying it's definitive, but I think it shouldn't be a walkover if I'm picking between the two is more what I meant. I personally would pick KAT but I wouldn't be upset if someone preferred booker.

I just think KAT is not far and away worse than him to where it's a no brainer.

Also I have also read that bronny has kept his options open and can in fact go back to college if he wants, deadline is may 29 I think. I personally think if he wants the best chance at a career, he needs to go now because I think nepotism is the only way he's sniffing an NBA roster, and if he waits lebron may retire.

KAT has a higher career PER than booker, 2 All NBA selections to booker's 1, more career win shares, a better career defensive and offensive rating, among other things. I think you absolutely can argue it. Booker made a finals, hooray.

This is something I had compiled a while ago, before this season. Look at the games played per win share column, KAT has one of the fewest ratios there is, and in fact better than the average. Is it all time great? No. Is it great? Yes. And I get that it's one stat, but I think it gives a decent glimpse as to how many #1s actually do bust out vs fan expectations.

yeah and he's a 4 time all star who hsa a career 23/11 average. That's better than quite a few #1 overall picks! Wolves fans should be more concerned about how the team was managed around him for his tenure there up to now than they are about him.

I'm sorry that he didn't end up a generational talent but I think fans overestimate how often that actually happens with a #1 overall. I think he has a good argument to being the best player out of that class tbh, the only real competition imo is booker.

I do think that's a fair criticism of KAT since he was that way before gobert even got there. But like, where's the criticism of gobert for the opposite? He doesn't stretch the floor and is good in other ways, why is KAT the one taking the heat all the time? It's fair to say KAT has weaknesses, but so does every other non-stretch big.

Like earlier charon said "The guys who are supposed to be scoring aren't" but I don't think that means gobert should be excused for having a very glaring flaw in his game (that he's never been a scorer.) The object of the game is to score, just cause you aren't good at it doesn't mean you don't get blame if you don't do it imo. If we're excusing players for flaws they've always had, then it doesn't make sense to go after KAT for not being a traditional big man, while not going after gobert for not being a stretch big man. Just make it equal.

If we're concerned that gobert would not get the same trade value that KAT would, to me that speaks volumes about who the more valuable player is.

This is what the NBA wants though. Who is the last traditional center who was a max player? Embiid and Jokic can both shoot. Porzingis can shoot. Victor can shoot.

If you don't have at least some outside shooting as a big, you're just inherently limited in today's NBA. Even if it's just like, 30% from 3, if you at least make teams defend you it opens up the spacing so much. Besides, he was averaging double digit rebounds before gobert got there anyway so it's not like he wasn't performing the duties within his station.

I mean you still have to make salaries match so it's not like they're getting out of that KAT contract next year anyway, in functionality. At best you're getting relief for 25-26, and then Naz is opting out and getting paid so you aren't even saving that much.

So really it's about whether you think you can upgrade overall by trading KAT, but unless there's a team out there with 50M in cap space who would want KAT, there's not much you're doing salary wise next year.

This is kind of my problem with playoffs. Wolves were one of the best teams all year. But if they end up losing a tough series of a few games against one of the best teams in the league after dominating the first 2 of those games, my first thought as a GM would be "okay we gave them a black eye, we did hang with them, clearly this team works, what can we do to supplement it" before going to "Okay we have to trade one of our core guys"

Man, KAT is so disrespected. He has arguably his best shooting season to date, shooting over 50% for the playoffs, nary a peep. One bad game, suddenly it's KAT has to go.

Maybe reid is better per dollar, but that won't be the case much longer considering reid is gonna turn down his PO after next season. I just wish KATs strengths were recognized as much as his weaknesses.

I think vanvleet is getting older, is overpaid, and isn't under contract for but 2 more seasons. It would be a great time to groom the PG heir imo.

Sarr was p much the most likely #1, but now I'm not so sure. I think with ATL already having okongwu and trae they could go risachier. If that happens I expect Sarr at 2 and Topic at 3

French interest in basketball is spiking lately, so sorta interested to know if it's going to be more than just Wembenyama and Gobert going forward as good players repping the country.

Sarr and risachier I think could both go top 5. Sarr is mostly pegged as a guy who can guard all 5 positions, with an outside chance that his shot develops and turns him into a stud. He's also a pretty good ball handler, I've heard he plays more like a wing than a big.

Thunder offense has fallen apart over the last two games at the worst times, SGA taking some bad shots.

Also struggling any time Chet isnt on the court, which is why everyone wanted us to trade for a backup big. If we lose this series fans arent going to want to hear about how were built for the future, this year might be our best chance.

Thunder fans who think this forget that they weren't even supposed to be this good this year. There's no reason to think this at all, the Thunder have plenty more playoffs in them. You have J Williamses on rookie deals, chet on a rookie deal, hayward coming off the books, tons of picks...it's not like they're currently in the conf finals choking away the opportunity of a lifetime or something.

Just chill, thunder fans. You're never guaranteed a title but you're arguably the team best positioned to contend for one for the next decade. It'll be okay. 0 reason to be doom and gloom about possibly going out in the 2nd rd the first year in what should be a wide-open window. Plus, if it's a backup big you want, let me tell you about the draft this year.

I guess mix of adventures was a poor description, I was trying to convey that a majority of it takes place on foot as opposed to on rails in an arwing. Even the levels that have all-range mode arwing still have a substantial amount of on-foot content in the level.

It's definitely closer to 64 than adventures was, but it's still a far cry from it as a whole imo.

it's a mix of 64 and adventures gameplay wise. There are 10 missions, of those 3 of them are purely on rails, the rest are on-foot/all-range mode in some mix, with various blasters and weapons and such, landmaster included in a few missions. If you're looking for purely 64 it is not that. The rails missions are at least not throwaways like the planet-travelling parts of adventures though, and it's at least mission-based rather than open world.

Also Sauria is one of the on foot missions so it's a nice callback

The one thing about hades I thought could've been done better is that it dragged too long to get those story beats. I was fine playing multiple times, I put a ton of hours into it and loved the game, but for example when you hit the first major story beat by beating the game 10 times, did it need to be 10? Why not, say, 5? I think if you reduce that then the whole story picks up. Maybe don't make max friendship with all the gods take as many hearts to get that story beat? Just stuff like that. I def had to look up how to do a couple things that seemed to be entirely random as to whether you got the requisite or not (Like artemis' friendship which afaik is actually luckbased).

Otherwise I did really love the game and played it all the way to the very true end cause I did love the story and didn't get bored with the gameplay, I do think the pact system was a nice way to spice up each run, but I do wish there were more...guaranteed story beats each time you completed a run, rather than like "okay anything this run? No okay let's do another, and another and OH there we go"

Whether it's beating a very difficult game, getting 100% on a game, getting a speedrun finished, doing some sort of challenge run, etc.

I'm not really the type to go for 100% clears a lot, but I enjoyed Kid Icarus: Uprising so much I was compelled to get all the Achievements without using the skips. Towards the end of that I was genuinely worried it wasn't healthy... (the second to last level on the hardest difficulty is absolutely brutal).

Somehow I cleared that one but the one I'm missing is the ring of chaos on 9.0

Oh, another recent card thing I did was get the complete set of Doctor Who MTG UB cards by that I mean I just bought the four premade commander decks. Did not realize that just buying those gave you all the unique cards of the set, and the boosters are just collector boosters that give you variants. Im not really a Magic player, I have no idea how to get into it and even if I did Id want to play standard still, it was fun finding the commander decks and putting all the cards in one big binder.

I recommend Arena since it gives you free starter decks to use and teaches you the rules if you want to learn how to play. I would not recommend commander as your first actual MTG playing experience.

Oh word? So you don't get how american corporations would harness this to maximize productivity by eliminating bathrooms from the workplace. You'd be locked in at your desk/station all day. Especially when they also stitch up something to either inject or feed you a ration at selected times.

I assume catesdb was thinking more with regards to the mechanics rather than outside forces. IE as stated in the OP "Would you be okay with pissing/****ing yourself" which would be the downside, it'd be purely mental and whether you could adapt to the idea of doing this.

My answer is both, I guess. I would absolutely use it at home, just to save time. They'd also be really nice for road trips or going to events. But at work, having a nice little bathroom break to calm down and have a little me time can redeem an entire day.

That said, I'd definitely not poop around people. Surely the stink would get out there, even if briefly, and that'd be fucking horrible.

Counterpoint: Don't tell your boss you have this tech, take bathroom breaks anyway even if you don't need them

I like the play boosters, it sucks having your rare in pack 3 be not in your colors, more rares = more chances to have a consistent draft

Essentially 3 on 3 but after a certain amount of team deaths one player turns into an uber stats god player to try and facilitate a comeback, and if that uber player dies its game over

see I consider endpoint 3 the true one because it does actually bring closure to the game in a way that actually solves the game's problem while also giving you a reason to keep playing narrative wise. The problem being "Whats' gonna happen when the olympians find out persephone is down there?

The story doesn't really feel truly complete for me until you beat that. But it does indeed take a lot of playtime.

there is more, and it basically boils down to "keep beating the game, and keep being friends with the gods" iirc

Sorry that I somehow put my main bracket in the coinflip group too. I have no idea how that happened or how to remove it because espn.com is inscrutable to me.

the espn layout this year is horrendous, we were talking about it in the discord how it apparently just auto adds a bracket you make to each group you join or something if you used the link, you had to do some weird process to get them sorted out.

I'm always more shocked at just how much crap Ice and Grass are weak to despite how good they are at attacking, and also what Steel is strong against when attacking (like, yes, I get strong versus Fairy because of the whole "can't stand cold iron" but nothing else ever makes sense to me what it hits strong and what resists it.)

Fairy specifically was made to buff steel and poison as attacking types and nerf dragon, I don't think there's much logic behind that one.
