Forgive me if I am speaking nonsense, but:

A vacuum is assumed to be completely empty space, without any matter or elementary particles. However, it was predicted by Nobel laureate Julian Schwinger 70 years ago that intense electric or magnetic fields can break down the vacuum and spontaneously create elementary particles.

Does this not violate the laws of conservation of mass/mass-energy?

Now an international, Manchester-led research team headed by another Nobel laureate, Prof Andre Geim, in collaboration with colleagues from UK, Spain, US and Japan - has used graphene to mimic the Schwinger production of electron and positron pairs.

Or are they simply just reversing the process of matter-anti-matter annihilation?

Expensive

You don't want to live here unless you have a very well-paying career opportunity waiting for you, here. Housing prices here are mad, they are. And unless you are willing to share your living space with some other lot, then you shall be paying a very steep price for your lodgings indeed. And as mentioned by Mr. Silver-Thorn, there is indeed a high population of homeless people in this state; they are most prevalent in the cities, but are kept far away from any areas with a high concentration of tourists for reasons that need not be explained. One could infer that such a large population is due to aforementioned housing costs and what-not.

To put it succinctly, it might be a good place to take an expensive vacation, but I highly recommend against living here unless you have the money or a successful career.
