the analytics track at my business school really pushes stata. technically I'm allowed to use something else but a lot of concepts in the class get introduced with accompanying stata commands.

I love RStudio. I only had one class that used it, but I really liked the IDE and how you can make graphs look. It felt easier and more intuitive to manipulate data than in Python or Stata.

They specify the range of applicable candidates as those with a graduation date after December 2023. My graduation date is May 2023 because I'm a 2nd semester senior.

It has to depend on the game. VR is an example where lots of games just don't have progression systems, because the focus is on the virtual sandbox and what you're capable of doing in it (rather than earning what you can do).

A game definitely doesn't NEED a progression system, in most Mario games you have 90% of Mario's movesest from the start besides some sporadic powerups.

Have you tried chatgpt? Idk what it's word output limit is but maybe if you keep asking it you can get up to 100 words eventually?

80/80. I just had that with a detective game called CaseCrackers. Objectively it has some problems. The gameplay is the text version of a pixel hunt, you have to type keywords into a search bar that you glean from packets of information you have, to unlock new info. And there's some inconsistency to the rules of what you can expect is searchable so you inevitably need some hints that deduct from your completion score. And for a text-based game there's a fair share of grammar mistakes as it was translated from Chinese. And some culturally insensitive phrases, hopefully also being a translation problem.

Some other things I could write about it but this is already Tl;Dr territory. It was still fun enough and didn't overstay its welcome so I could finish it.

Is that really true? There's a point where your party of four is cartoonishly captured by the villainous org and then freed by a literal ninja. The game is pretty proud of championing Dragon Quest tropes. Thought it was kind of annoying that it's to the point that the protagonist does the anime "AIIIIIEEEE SOOOO GOOOOD" any time you eat something

Personally as a Y0 fan the combat never won me over. Like a lot of the type of JRPG it's emulating there isn't a ton of strategy beyond using the class' strongest move you've unlocked, and the basics of the battle system is a mess. You can never risk a basic attack because everyone's movement is unpredictable and you can't control them, so you inevitably just get interrupt-attacked.

And as I progressed, my party started to constantly get stuck on the game geometry, running in place for half a minute until the game automatically started the attack cutscene to avoid a softlock. Any time I was in a place with pillars, equipment like a park or playground, or just somewhere with uneven terrain, it was likely to happen.

What does Dragon Quest 11 do that sets it apart from JRPGs 20 years ago, especially when you can even play it in 2d grid mode?
