I was thinking about this the other day. I think they're safe because
1) They've basically got the market locked down, I don't think Twitter warriors complaining about stuff like the Big Mouth character (if there even were any) are the demographic watching Funimation besides maybe BnHA
2) Tons of people seriously believe that anime characters are white and that Japan draws their characters white, and you'd have to break through that massive misconception to talk about the race thing
3) All the VAs are on the hook for the same thing so there's no way for them to do "justice" without them voluntarily shutting down the industry as we know it, and this animation race issue is simply not heated enough to motivate that

In regards to the OP, I definitely feel like my 'college experience' is slipping through my fingers..... I was very reserved during my freshman year and now it's looking like my sophomore is evaporating before my eyes.... haven't been able to join any clubs or make many friends. All my classes are online this Fall. It sucks so fucking bad. I didn't enjoy it at all. Metal Gear Rising made sword slicing robots work because you actually sliced people up but all the enemies in Nier are blocky and just recoil back or tank you. I kept playing for the story but found that to be a letdown too. I recognize that my opinion is in the vast minority on CE
