This show might immediately be settling my lowkey chief complaint of a lot of fantasy media, that being not challenging the underlying power structures that create the world's conflicts such as the monarchies and aristocracy.

I think Civ 6 is ultimately a really fun game where I really dislike almost everything outside of the proper game mechanics. Leader selection, quotation selection, organization, art style are all meh to me. And modern era is a chore but that's true of V as well in different ways.

Apparently they did leader packs and instead of adding Napoleon they put a mask on Catherine? What's she known for besides massacring 30,000 French people

See this is why these threads are like crack. A guy point blank asks the question "what is your solution since the current admin have been attacking peaceful protesters".

A coherent answer would be something like "I don't have a great solution for this issue, but I think the current administration should still be voted for as a harm reduction tactic because the only viable alternative would use much more violence and repression."

Instead you get "the solution to the current administration's allowance for violence is to vote for the current administration", which of course will elicit a half dozen more bewildered responses.

Ummm, probably not. For one, there's just so much other stuff to watch nowadays and I'm not sure I want to commit to it right after this. I've also heard mixed things, not just about that show but about how it depicts A:tLA characters later in their lives.

Actually, I just don't hear good things about Korra. Besides the vaguest "1/3/4 are good 2 sucks" or something like that. But I've never seen people talk about liking the themes or plot or even describing them, just problems they have with characters or world building.

I'm not ruling it out but I definitely want a break before more avatar.

It was britty gud huh. So glad Aang and Katara kissed, after the hug I wasn't convinced it was gonna happen. Also glad Zuko immediately took that headass hairdo back down.

Kinda felt like it could've used another 20 minutes of aftercare, because it is SUCH a character driven show, and the finale is more plot/fighting.

Peak of the series is probably the northern water kingdom invasion, but S2 and S3 are both great. Zuko and Azula are both great characters.

And yes, Gen Z knows a lot of the older generations' references, particularly because pop culture during our upbringing has largely stagnated in terms of the big franchises. Our writers and animators are more likely to be keeping the zombies of old favorites alive rather than having the opportunity to make their own stuff. I mourn Jojolion because I believed in Araki and I think he completely fucked it up. Twinkification of Jojo was fine though and part 7 is one of the greatest manga ever made. Even part 8's run time would be forgivable if Araki stuck it through with Jobin, but IDK what happened with his thought process, but he basically threw away every string he could've otherwise tried to tie together.

I'm not actively reading The Jojolands but it's so cool how Araki mindbroke every conservative fan by putting covid, Dua Lipa, and a gender non-conforming Joestar sibling in chapter 1.

Volunteer federation officers or mercenaries for hire. The reason this scenario is weird is
1) I've played 60 hours and this is the first time I saw it despite routinely fighting slaver ships
2) Normally whenever you encounter slaver ships you can fight them and the game refers to them as "scum" when you do

With that in mind it definitely feels like an oversight to not give a 4th option for this scenario for the sake of the light role play options the game normally offers.

being serious, I think this is a really interesting political anecdote because of the difference between what she's trying to communicate ("us out in the rural land have to make hard decisions about animals sometimes") vs what she accidentally communicates. That is, that she's terrible at managing or training animals and she literally just kills things that don't meet her expectations. The reasons for killing the animals are centered around her ego. The dog embarrassed her and didn't listen. The goat got her kids' clothes dirty.

It seems I was (a little) too hard on CVS. Their communication sucked but it wasn't just a problem in their system.

Ultimately, my secondary insurance (which is willing to cover my medication) insists billing has to go through primary. But primary says if they don't cover the medication then they won't facilitate a PA/coverage from secondary. So I don't get my meds because I made the mistake of buying insurance from my employer lmao
