A homeless man was charged Friday with murder in a random attack on a California father who was stabbed in the neck as his 5-year-old daughter sat in his lap in a crowded beachside steakhouse.

Jamal Jackson, 49, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 35-year-old Anthony Mele. He was being held in Ventura County jail on a $1.5 million bail. It's unclear if he has an attorney to speak on his behalf.

Mele and his wife were eating dinner with their daughter Wednesday at Aloha Steakhouse in Ventura. The girl was sitting in her father's lap when prosecutors say Jackson walked up and stabbed Mele in the neck.

Prosecutor Richard Simon said patrons and a restaurant employee followed Jackson out of the restaurant, even though he still had the knife. They kept track of him until police arrived and arrested him.

Mele was taken to a hospital and died Thursday after being taken off life support.

"It's horrible," Simon said. "You don't think you're going to be killed when you go out to dinner at a nice restaurant with your family and you didn't do anything."

Simon said the two men had not interacted before the attack.

"He was just sitting there with his daughter in his lap," Simon said. "You're not supposed to die that way."

No, it doesn't refute the Rawstory claims. You're misrespresenting the MLive article with your own claims.

It most certainly does. You harp on me about the dates of when the students tore the confederate flag from a car, and yet completely overlook that Rawstory conflated this protest with a completely unrelated story about a kid on the football team being harassed to make this seem like some deluge of organized racism.

https://charlieintel.com/2018/04/19/rumor-new-call-of-duty-black-ops-4-leaks-indicates-mp-is-similar-to-overwatch/

The leak claims that Black Ops 4s MP is similar to the Overwatch experience, which lines up with information that charlieINTEL has heard about Black Ops 4s MP mode.

The leak also claims that there are some similar elements to the Lawbreakers title, a game which was basically a replica of Overwatch developed by Boss Key. The leak states that Black Ops 4 features a mixture of boots on the ground and advanced movements with many changes to the games core systems.

Heres the full leak that the user posted:

New Multiplayer information has been confirmed by more than one source so I can now talk about that more publicly. As of two days ago Multiplayer was in the worst state you have ever seen a Call of Duty multiplayer mode. Sources who have play-tested the mode claim that it is less like a call of duty mode and more like a Call of Duty Overwatch or a Call of Duty Lawbreakers. The Lawbreakers reference is incredibly apt considering what he told me next. Remember how I said the game was simultaneously boots on the ground and advanced movement? Well I can elaborate on that a little more too. The game was going to take the hero or specialist system from Black Ops 3 and take it to the next level. Perks were basically removed completely, and had instead been morphed into a strange kind of Kill Streak. Normal Killstreaks as we know them, for example harrier jets or chopper gunners, didnt in fact exist in this version of Black Ops 4. Instead you got highly powerful perks. One of which was a Movement Alteration. It literally changed your movement from Boots on The Ground to something very strongly resembling Black Ops 3s advanced movement systems.

This fell flat with playtesters. They didnt like it at all. It was deemed an unfair portrayal of Call of Duty, and something that wouldnt resonate with fans in the slightest. So, as of the last play test, things are changing. Actual Killstreaks are being entered into the game and the hero systems are being scaled back a little bit. What this does mean is that the game is in fact beginning to resemble more and more the state of the game in Black Ops 3. What this means for the future of BO4 I do not know. Currently my information does not stretch to what the mode will become, only to what it very recently was. With the community reveal only weeks away I am truly concerned for Call of Duty Black Ops 4, and even more concerned for Treyarch as a development studio. This is tighter than it has ever been.

One source said Treyarch has since focused Black Ops 4s development on expanding multiplayer and the series popular Zombies mode. The source described an emphasis on cooperative modes as a potential stand-in for the typical single-player campaign experience.

The only argument you guys have is that you don't like the outcome here. You have absolutely no argument to make that this was unjustified based on the above.

Admiral keeps ignoring the big Elephant in the room. The main issue that he refuses to address.

That's not the main issue. Arguing that "they don't consistently enforce the rule" does not mean it's wrong when they do.

And unless you have more evidence of blacks being targeted beyond the claims of this one woman who is well-versed in oppression rhetoric and clearly wanted this to go viral, you don't have any basis to make that claim. I find it incredibly unlikely that in Philly -- where blacks are the largest racial group -- that stores and discriminating against them.

What I bolded is 100% the main issue. Sure it looks like s race thing but even if they were white... that doesn't matter. If you have a policy like that then you clearly display it and you follow it at all times. Period. If they did that then this would have never happened. Guess what? They don't. That's the issue.

I go to a small gift shop all the time at work. Sometimes I forget my wallet. They tell me to pay it back tomorrow. I consistently do this. If I grab something and tell a coworker as I'm leaving I'll pay for it tomorrow like I always do.. then I get arrested for theft... Are you just going to give zero blame to the company and all of it to me because they considered that theft by policy, and common sense, even though the company has consistently let me do that to the point where it became comfortable?

Starbucks deserves the blame here for being lax on their policy.

Well, I guess that settles it.

The Starbucks official acknowledged that the incident is at odds with what many people have done at a Starbucks without drawing suspicion or calls to police. The stores are community hubs, the official said, where people often drop in to use Wi-Fi or chat with friends without necessarily ordering anything.

And? Was the manager following policy as written or no?

I don't know. They haven't shown us the policy. Even if they did follow policy.. You don't see the issue with that? If they decide to pull this policy out for two black men but just ignore it for everyone else.. That's a fucking problem no matter if the actual policy said it or not.

Exactly! It's like you are trying to separate the issue.

Let's say someone is getting shot at and their are running for they life. They try to run across the street and get struck by a car.

Admiral would say, "He shouldn't have ran across the street. Why he ran across the street? That's another argument."

That's fucking silly

That analogy is silly and completely irrelevant.

Not sure how many times people need to be reminded that arguing with the cops and refusing to comply is only going to get you arrested. The cops have no authority to mediate the situation once they arrive. If they tell you to leave a store, you're either doing so willingly or in cuffs, there is no other scenario. Any beef the men might have had for being kicked out unfairly is a civil legal matter at that point and should be handled that way.

That isn't the fucking point. Everyone knows the cops just did their job. That's not the issue. The issue is that they where fucking called. Quit talking about the actual arrest. It's irrelevant to the main issue.

Look.. I hate Trump and all but this story is fucking stupid and pointless. To top it off.. there is a solid chance it's false if that is the sorce.

My ISP put my router as far away from my computer and game consoles as possible, so the signal would sometimes just die. Bought 3 Google Wifi units, installed them, and never had a problem again.

You had my exact same problem. So it might be worth it!

If you're handy enough you could consider getting a switch and hard wiring some Ethernet ports.

I wish I was that handy.

Here is the issue. I've moved back into my parents house which is pretty large. My brother and I will be buying this house from them in about 8 months when they move. Our modem is set up in the worst part of the house... we have a bonus room upstairs at the corner of the house... it's up there..

So naturally... we have Internet problems. My brother and I game up there and hardware our consoles so that's not an issue. It's getting connection everywhere else. Our walls aren't wifi friendly and our range really suffers because of it. We have an extender but combining it and the router upstairs... it can only cover half the house max.

Google wifi has 2 extenders but its small. Does it have the range needed? Will I have the space to hook up my modem and hardware 2 consoles? 1 might be enough

You would think it would be no chance since you are signing your own death sentence if you do... yet.... There is constant talks about this. It sounds like he is going to do it. Would he really be that dumb?

How do you proceed? Let's say you got pulled over for speeding. I don't own a gun but this is something I've always been curious about. People typically have their gun on their right hip. That means that it's completely out of sight of the officer. That also means if you reach for your wallet... it can look like you're reaching for you're gun. Hell if you are taking off your seatbelt it can look like that...

How do you handle that kind of situation?

It's more like we're having an argument and you find out that you agree with what I said, but you still find yourself feeling emotional angry at the things I've said, so you jump to a new line on another topic just to continue the argument.

I'm literally attacking a specific point you made and I said I disagree out the gate. Instead of attacking that point you attack the terminology. You have yet to attack the actual point. But yea.. let's somehow twist it to where I agree with you instead of addressing the actual issue I'm pointing out.

You do know what the word "heinous" means right? It doesn't matter if it was a different conversation. I can quote the entire conversation and I would disagree with your statement. Just because you were talking to someone else about pedophiles doesn't mean your statement doesn't cover all the bases. You talking to that person doesn't magically make it only about pedophiles.

You're combining two points, where one of them was prefaced by "this is beside the point".

It seems we will never be on the same page about this because you seem to try to excuse it by saying you're combining points or say that's besides the point. None of that matters.

Let me give a dumbed down example. If you think this example is bad/false then correct me and I'll see if it matches up with what you're saying.

Let's say I'm walking by and I hear you and a friend talking. He ask you if you are going to buy an.. IDK.. a Porsche. You tell him you hate Porsche cars but that's beside the point because I don't have the money anyway.

Just because you weren't talking to me and you don't have the money doesn't mean you didn't say/mean you don't like Porsche cars.

That's what I'm saying.

You pretty much said it's bad demonize people that have committed terrible crimes.

No, I said in response to another question that compassion is probably a better approach to actually finding solutions and preventing these things in the future.

But that is beside the actual conversation, where another user stated that pedophiles deserve to be demonized.

I mean, in no way is comparable, but I think compassion for those who have committed heinous crimes is probably more helpful than anything else as well.

You came at me about misusing the word "pedophile." You should reword this statement because you are covering all evil crimes with this statement. It doesn't matter if you were responding to someone talking about pedophiles or not.

Are you unable to discriminate different conversations?

And if you've been taking notes, I've never said anything about defending child rapists from stigmatization.

You pretty much said it's bad demonize people that have committed terrible crimes. So you are just going to hang on the fence? Nkt defend them but not demonize them either? I'm sorry but I can't do it. If I don't clearly state how awful an individual is for doing those things then its practically the same as defending them IMO.
