I've been really getting into this person's art. It's a bit disturbing, so I'm only linking to the Twitter account, but the artist drew "light" and "dark" variants on all Council and also drew "fear" paintings of Myth.

Was pretty good. I didn't figure it out until shortly before the reveal though, despite the foreshadowing there.

That said, I knew we'd still have "Mio" after all that because I saw screenshots of her with long hair so I knew something was going to happen. I just didn't know if we'd get "new Mio" or "copy Mio" or "just M but she's close enough anyway". I didn't consider "mind switching" despite having been introduced to that. Anyway, they did an excellent job making those scenes sad and full of despair though.

I also liked the fact that Z wasn't just a dude, but was actually an amalgamation of all humanity's desire for things not to change, given data-like form. My suspicions were that he was some leftover element of Klaus/Zanza before then.

Part of me wishes I'd gone through XC2, but I was able to get up to speed enough. Alrest was another world created by the Conduit as a result of Klaus playing with it; basically Earth separating into both Bionis and Alrest, and then they started pulling back together, so Melia and Nia worked to create Origin to try to recapture those worlds and remake a new one, but Z formed because of human desires, so Melia got captured and Nia retreated to Cloudkeep.

And then Z's motivations seem interesting. He really basically started the war not only to take in energy but because it amused him. He was just bored. I honestly wonder if he created other Moebius members simply so he'd have someone to talk to.

When you think about it, everything the Conduit gets access to, collects, and reforms, seems to all just be data rearranged and reassembled, so in the end everything in the series is pretty much just data with memories. Sobering to think that's all we could potentially be with sufficiently advanced technology.

And then there's the flipping Nopon and nobody really knowing what their deal is.

Oh, and honestly I thought we might delve a bit more into Riku. He seems to have a connection to the world and its history that goes beyond just being a smart guy who knows how to work tech or build a nice sword out of Origin metal.

There's plenty that could be explored in Part 4 of the DLC. I honestly think there's plenty to be done exploring the Founders, much like Golden Country in 2, this will be a look into the distant past.

I'm probably going to wait until Batch 3 of the DLC before going back and doing Melia and Nia's story stuff and that's pretty much it I think.

So yeah, of the concept of "games that are probably too big", this game goes well beyond Elden Ring in that. Just so damn big.

When Melia and Nia started slapping Z I was kinda hoping they'd be part of my last Chain Attack, but eh.

The funny part about her is that, because she's the villain of an optional quest, she doesn't show up in Origin if you didn't do that quest.

I was wondering about that! The alternative would be you fighting her in Origin and killing her and her inexplicably showing up in that quest (or not at all, which would be weird for the scene).

That was my basic intent anyway. I've kinda ranked "things I'd want to do" for completion. That was at the top. Next would be all colonies to 5. After that it'd be working on means to get levels up and take on the superbosses, but eh. I've been playing this game for a month and a half now and I'm ready to move on.
