Why does Nintendo always do this artificial shortage crap? Every single big ticket product is a struggle to get. The Wii, 3DS, Aniibo, The Switch. It's old and I'm sick of their insanity.

Come on, we've been over this. It's been explained by not just from me, but countless others on here how this line is, from every possible angle, utter false and makes no sense. Yet you keep repeating it. That's not how supply and demand works, Wave.

That said, this DOES appear to be a true case of drumming up hype. It's less artificial shortage and more of a promotional run. Which isn't crazy in itself if you're talking about a physical product- Nintendo has done limited special edition bundles of games before (like the 4 game Zelda bundle on the GCN), as have other companies. But that stops making sense when the digital is a limited run, too. And it's a Mario bundle, so it's going to sell regardless. Quite odd indeed.

But it's just as odd to get in a huff about it. If you don't like Mario enough to get the games within 6 months of release, chances you were never going to get it anyways. No harm, no foul, as stupid as it is. Now, No SMG 2 included IS something to get mad about. That's truly a very odd and glaring omission. I'd probably buy the bundle if it had that, just to keep them all in one nice, portable place. But I still have both SMG and the DS64 one (and never cared enough for Sunshine to resist it) that I'll probably pass.

I'd almost be willing to assume that maybe Disney said something to Rian Johnson about minimizing Finn's role to appease the Chinese market, but Johnson DID give him a pretty big presence in the movie. It just happens to be in a terrible side-plot that prety much everyone hates.

I initially thought thought, but it doesn't make sense considering how much hype and willingness to give Finn the spotlight in TFA. If they were that afraid a black actor in a prominent role would tank them, they wouldn't have even started him off strong from the get-go.

And considering they introduced Rose, a Vietnamese American (which the Chinese would be indifferent to at best, fucking hate at worst) actress in TLJ, the idea that they were pulling on the strings in this casting regard for the Chinese falls flat. Rian just being trash pretty much explains everything.

No Galaxy 2 is quite odd. I'd consider the 3d collection if it had Galaxy 2, since it'd be nice to have them all on one portable console.

My guess is they are saving it for another bundle, with Super Mario 3D World or whatever...but since the whole point of this was to celebrate 35 years of Mario, it doesn't make sense they wouldn't mention it (or other console Mario games they could combo).

But placing this on some sort of subtle racism by Disney is silly. Virtually everyone agree's Finn's character STARTED as interesting/had promise. But then Rian Johnson absolutely ruined his character, as he ruined everything in TLJ. There wasn't a lot left to salvage by the time RoS came out.

Moreover, saying the whole industry has kowtowed to "SJW" stuff is full-blown ridiculous. Last I checked, Mario still basically had no story and was about platforming, Borderlands is still barely contained insanity, Diablo is still about killing demons in explosions of blood, etc.

Don't really have anything to add to the PS5 back of BC-ness. I do enjoy BC, but have accepted it isn't the standard. Nintendo had a good run of it, but it made sense the Switch would lack it due to changing media formats entirely. But I'd expect the Switch 2 or w/e to be BC with the Switch.

As for Castlevania, I am a big fan of the show. Season 1 is good, Season 2 is great, and Season 3 is ... divisive, but I thought it was great, too. Season 4 should be a winner, too, but I doubt the show will continue after that, since Warren Ellis got me-too'd and let go by Netflix.

I like the redhead vampress in S3. Curious to see where her arc goes, and if they give Alucard new purpose.

Depends on what you mean. Riots, yes. Full-blown revolt? Again, that would need to be defined.

Although I wouldn't doubt it, since a Trump victory at this point would almost certainly mean it was rigged or cheating was involved, assuming nothing cataclysmic (and it would have to be at this point) happens between now and November to boost Trump and/or sink Biden. And considering Trump and some of his allies have already admitted trying to cheat the 2020 election on live TV, it'd be a pretty easy fuse to light for massive unrest. Made doubly easier that unrest has basically been the ongoing state of 2020.

They've been talking about making once since the 1990s. Every few years it comes up, and someone mentions it's still being planned. It's apparently doomed to be stuck in development hell forever.

The real irony is, it's based on a book, and the book was part of a series. So if they did remake it and the remake did well enough, it could jumpstart a new franchise (which is what studios today have wet dreams about). They've got at least four books and a bunch of short stories/comic books they could adapt, so someone could even spin it off into a TV show on something like HBO or Netflix (though the last time they tried to turn it into a TV show, it tanked).

I have an almost knee-jerk reaction to remakes and spin-offs, as I've stated before, but Logan's Run is one I've always stood by as deserving a remake. It simply hasn't aged well at all (you can see SPFX charge wires even in the cave scenes), and the sci-fi concepts are super shallow. It could really be spruced up.

Yeah, that caught me off-guard. I'm willing to accept any criticisms towards the game except for that one. This is the best looking FE ever.

tbf, the map graphics (of the battlefield) are pretty lackluster, it looks basically the same as the GCN games did. Not that the battle maps NEED to look all that great, but it's still pretty murky. Even some basic cel shading would go a long way, there.

But yes, IS still keeps finding ways to make FE even better and better. I think Awakening still might be my favorite, but TH is damn good.

Now if they would only throw Advance Wars some love.

That's the way it should be. It was set up that way so the whole country would have a voice and not just those in a small area. A handful of cities should not determine an election because of population density, the majority have no idea what life is like elsewhere.

You're right. it should be by popular vote, aka the only thing that guarantees equal representation, and not the antiquidated and senseless EC.

It doesn't make sense why more populas states should get punished, anyways. There are millions more Red voters than all of Wyoming, you know.

I get the rental angle, since buying it means one person could split the initial cost, and then just pass the content around/ invite people over to watch. Renting only staves this off, but also turns people off (like me) from seeing it, when I can just wait a few months to see it for free anyways.

Disney rarely deserves pity, but as someone who works in the film biz, I feel for them. Films are massive investments, and not being able to make the likely $500M+ they would have made with a theater run puts them in a bind.

A lot of urban areas are underserved by polling stations (guess which party tends to run the state government for cities where this occurs) and you always hear horror stories of people waiting 5 or 6 hours in a packed line in order to vote.

That doesn't mean it's inherently more dangerous, though. Social distancing and masks measures will be enforced. the only drawback is unbearable waiting lines.

Hence, why early voting, more areas, etc. are something that needs to happen. And why the GOP will absolutely refuse to let it happen.

Regardless of his true intentions, his claimed intentions are entirely justified by the circumstances; if he were a popular President then nobody would bat an eyelash, the problem with his claim isn't with the validity but with him personally.

No, they aren't.

First off, the vote has never seriously been considered to be moved. Ever. Not during the Spanish Flu pandemic, not during World Wars (when the troops away voted by mail!), not during the fucking Civil War, not during the worst global depression ever seen. In-person voting shouldn't be considered more dangerous than currently grocery store shopping. Mask up, perhaps even gloves on.

Second of all, we have a variety of remedies to this: increase early voting times, voting stations, allow mail-in ballots, etc. None of these the GOP wants, though, because they have ADMITTED, numerous times (including Trump), that more people voting equals the GOP never being in power again. They know they have been deeply unpopular for the last 30-ish years, hence the systemic voter suppression system they have set up to keep themselves in power.

Finally, Trump, and his entire family, have always voted by mail. That should tell a thinking man all they need to know.

The Republicans are terrified of losing power. Nothing more. And they WILL try every underhanded trick to not lose it.

Unless you're personally speaking to people close to him that are mourning his death (in which case it's just plain rude), there's no reason that being dead should excuse people from criticism or mockery. Especially when that mockery can help to prevent future such tragedies by highlighting that this man squandered ample opportunities to save his own life and that others therefore should really consider seizing the opportunities they still have.
