It sort of fits somewhere close to the pigs one (which is arguing that everyone is shitty so everyone always deserves the shittiness), but that one is more sort of suggesting that the shitty things happen regardless while this one is sort of implying some mechanism is at work (whether destiny, a judgemental god, or just mechanistic determinism) to ensure that shitty things specifically happen to people who deserve them.

Those two you could actually fudge a bit to be more or less the same, but you could also easily interpret them in different ways.
Nah. "Reap what you sow" explicitly says you will be affected by your own consequences. Basic cause and effects unto one's self (and since it's almost always used in the negative sense, it can be boiled down to "you did this to yourself" or "you only have yourself to blame.").

Destiny/judgemental god would be more of a "shit happens" line, since it implies something bad is happening to a person, regardless if they actually did anything to earn the bad thing happening or not.

Speaking as a fan of the series: If you have played any of the Fire Emblem games, including the remake of the original on DS, the first Fire Emblem is almost unplayable by modern standards. Good to see it as a novelty release, but I would have been happy with it staying in Japan.
Basically my thoughts. I was intrigued at first, but it just being a port of the OG game that never came to America is a huge meh from me.

Hell, the current FE games have evolved to the point so as to make the first American FE (FE7) seem pedestrian by comparison.

Well its a good thing we have you to explain it for us. Why don't you go ahead and pass that on to the Supreme Court so they know they've been fucking up for the past two hundred years.
You should have read the topic more: The Supreme Court has gotten it *correct* for the last 200+ years. Time after time again, they reaffirmed that the 2nd does NOT give private citizens, detached from any state militia, a Constitutional right to guns.

That's a relatively new idea in American politics, and only became a reality in 2008 Heller decision, a nakedly partisan 5-4 ruling. Thinking it's always been that way is historical revisionist thinking.

https://guides.loc.gov/federalist-papers/text-41-50#s-lg-box-wrapper-25493411
Which is cool and all, but again, until just 12 years ago, this was ALWAYS read in the context of being in a Militia. Historical analysis of how it is written, as well as the explanation of the amendment at the time, tell us as much. Which is why it was read that way for 200+ years.

It's pretty obvious at this point that the contentious 5-4 Heller ruling of 2008 was the work of conservative activists judges, most notably Scalia, who completely jettisoned his "originalist" interpretation for a reading that is quite of opposite. It's why Heller is cited as one of the most likely rulings to be overturned eventually.

Also, you should probably re-read that Federalist paper: it very clearly talks about arms in the context of the militia, military, and armed conflicts. Furthermore, while the Federalist Papers are helpful insights into what eventually formed the Constitution, they are themselves not the Constitution.

Which kind of undermines the point of the 2nd amendment. It exists to give the people the power to overthrow a tyrannical government if the need arises. Overthrowing a tyrannical government, however, is generally going to be illegal, because most governments - tyrannical or otherwise - have laws against orchestrating their downfall. People are guaranteed the right to be able to overthrow the government, but not the right to actually do it.
That's also not what the 2nd is for.

Strictly speaking, the entire point of the 2nd was to make sure Militias (again, Militias with an "M", as in State Militias) couldn't be disarmed, specifically by the federal government. That's it. It was never intended to allow anyone a Constitutional right to a gun (in fact, it was strictly ruled NOT to do that all the way up until 2008), or anything else.

Reading between the lines, of course, this was meant as a check on the federal government, should the states ever feel the need to come to blows (as states had MUCH more power back then), or with each other (before the idea of uniting the states took hold, they basically acted as mini-countries). And even though the likes of Jefferson and others were fans of revolt should the need arise, it's like the 2nd is the specific mechanic meant to address that.

Really, it's why the 2nd is easily the worst aspect of the Bill of Rights: it's original intent is defunct, and has been grossly twisted into mean something it NEVER initially intended to. And we are all worse off for it.

Actually that's exactly what the 2nd ammendment exists to protect. Literally the only reason you're allowed guns.

I have no clue what this comment has to do with this comment
He's saying the 2A is responsible for this "militia" having access to guns, I think. Problem is, he's making the tired mistake of confusing the layman terms "militia" with the capitalized, very specific term in the Constistution, "Militia." As in, "state militia." Random dumbasses with guns calling themselves a militia is NOT the same as a state militia, which the Constitution backs (and state militias are all but defunct these days, essentially replaced by the National Guard).

Considering the "plot" was a handful of people in a basement, probably not the most intimidating thing in the world. Meanwhile anti-government protests and attacks are happening on Michigan's streets while its government does little or nothing to stop them.
Considering it was big enough for the FBI to monitor and step in, I'm gonna go ahead and say "nah dawg." But it's a bit telling that you instantly pivot to the non-existent threat of "anti-government" protesters. One would think that basic intelligence dictates that if one was worth of the FBI's attention and action, and the other, openly in the streets, isn't, then you're making a very horrible and disgraceful false equivalency.

It's been a tired tactic of conservatives for nearly 3 decades now to try and paint the Left as just as terrible as they are, but no one outside of conservatives buy it.

The FBI says it thwarted what it described as a plot to violently overthrow the government and kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and federal prosecutors are expected to discuss the alleged conspiracy later Thursday.
The alleged plot involved reaching out to members of a Michigan militia, according to a federal affidavit filed Thursday.

The court filing also alleges the conspirators twice conducted surveillance at Whitmer's personal vacation home and discussed kidnapping her to a "secure location" in Wisconsin to stand "trial" for treason prior to the Nov. 3 election.
"Several members talked about murdering 'tyrants' or 'taking' a sitting governor," an FBI agent wrote in the affidavit. "The group decided they needed to increase their numbers and encouraged each other to talk to their neighbors and spread their message."

For those that like to drink the antifa Kool-Aid, this is what an actual domestic terrorist organization looks like. Like, holy shit.

The ginormous size and low battery life limit its usefulness as a handheld.
It's been a pretty well kept secret that battery technology has crept along at a snail's pace in terms of trying to keep up with the demands. There's a mad scramble in battery tech to try and find something that's better than the typical Li-on battery, because the drain is not only killing the up time of mobile devices, but the life cycles of said batteries, too. The solution has been to just make bigger batteries with more amps, but that hasn't made them better in terms of efficiency.

Graphene and other substances have been floated as a possible solution, but progress has been quite slow.

As for the 3DS, sad day, in a kinda of end-of-an-era sort of way. As for the Switch, I actually almost exclusively leave it docked, because I have a 75 inch TV, so why the hell wouldn't I? I haven't had to travel for work in a while either, so I don't have that excuse, either.
