You do the interview and application with the temp agency. They are the ones that hire you and pay you. Temp agency is temp work for 6 months or less, but you can ask for temp to hire positions. If the company decides to hire you, your contract with the temp agency ends and you then work for the company.

Staffing agency is similar but the agency isn't the one to hire you or pay you, it'll be the company.

Temp agencies work. I've used a few over the years. You meet with them in person and they learn about you and what you're looking for. Then they'll try to find jobs that they think we fit you.
