She has the right of way, yeah. But again, once he nosed out, she literally tried to drive around him, into the other lane, had to pull back into the left lane because she almost hit another car, then they collide. Her behavior is objectively NOT defensive driving, is aggressive, escalated the incident, and almost involved a third party. They're both idiots, but she's also a complete asshole and in a just world this is split 50/50 and both their insurance premiums go up.

I hate drivers like that guy in the truck. Instead of waiting for traffic to pass (it didn't look like there was anyone behind the lady he cut off), he tries to force his way into traffic because he's in a big truck. I've seen big trucks do shit like that all the time.

Yes, they're both idiots, but the truck driver should have waited for an actual opening instead of forcibly creating his own opening.

Defensive driving is about taking actions to avoid all collisions even if it's inconvenient for you to do so.

but the other driver let them in and then abruptly cut the driver off causing the accident

both at fault but insurance will blame the driver who initiated contact

I have one of those one-lane bridges that I have to pass over weekly when taking off the trash to the nearest collection site, and people tend to drive me crazy when I get there before them only for them to continue driving across as if we can both squeeze by on what is clearly a one-lane bridge.

Nope. Doesn't matter if another driver does something illegal. Yield rules are there in anticipation that someone will do something illegal. For example if you run a red light and another car going 90mph smashes into you, assuming you're all alive, only you will get a ticket for causing the accident.

The only way out of this is if the guy who isn't at fault is DUI.

Unless there is a sign at the intersection saying otherwise, you can legally cross double yellow when leaving driveways and parking lots.

People were using that lane to merge instead of turning. You can hop into it and stop to wait to merge or turn, but you aren't supposed to continue traveling more than 200ft within it.
