Oh no in the gameplay video they talk about Claire's scenario. They just only had a Leon demo to show.

As far as Nemesis is concerned, once his mission was complete I assumed they would have just sent a recovery helicopter for him like they were doing with all the other big name Umbrella personnel and assets.

Hunk, Spencer, Sergei, the Red Queen mainframe, all those got picked up.

Yeah the whole point of the Nemesis Project was to create a tyrant that could follow orders.

The T-103s (Mr. X) could follow simple ones, but Nemesis was capable of more complex missions.

I believe so. IIRC, that combination forces you to create the serum for Sherry (which certainly feels like a canon thing), and it gives Leon/Ada more emotional oomph.

First option definitely especially considering the original RE2 came with both. I don't think it would even make much sense to package a non-canon series of events as the full game to start with.

I've been hearing though there may not be an A/B sort of thing anyway.

In hindsight I feel like they nuked Raccoon a bit hastily.

The main cast took care of most of the real scary baddies. I feel like a competent military strike by a few thousand troops could have taken care of the normal T-virus plebs.

Although the idea that millions of people would be slowly transforming into Crimson Heads makes me rethink that a bit.

In an exclusive interview with Trusted Reviews, Resident Evil 2 producer and senior manager Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, confirmed that the modes will be in the game.

Of course! Yes! Hiarabayashi said, via a translator, when asked if Resident Evil 2 will maintain its fun alternative modes as well as offering an incredibly visceral upgrade on the PS One 1998 classic. Both the Fourth Survivor and Tofu modes will be included in the game.

Yeah it's literally impossible to even get close to a canon version of the Mansion incident, since neither one is locked up for the entire game and it's impossible to get all five survivors on the helicopter at the end no matter what.

That being said, RE2 is the same way since later entries contradict what happened. Though CA/LB is the most right, things like Degeneration have Claire fighting Birkin 1, which is a CB thing.

Resident Evil has a rich history of secondary characters that disappear never to be heard from again (what up Billy/Carlos/Ashley/Sheva/Helena/etc/etc) don't ruin that mystique. At least Steve died.

Skimmed through the gameplay video, 'cause I don't wanna spoil too much, but damnit, item boxes are back. Thinking about it, I didn't mind them much in RE7, so maybe this'll be fine. Didn't see ink ribbons at least.

A single main character is far more deadly than any kind of organized military.

In fact, the more larger and more organized the more likely half of them are zombies before they know it.

RE1 and RE2 are pretty solid with every single surviving character coming back in at least one more game.

After that though...

So much work went into this, and Im simply shaking after watching. Heres a breakdown of the best things:

-Limited ammo and strict, classic feeling survival horror is the main focus. This is not an action game, and trying to play it like RE4 or any of the other over the shoulder RE games will get you killed quick.

-Classic ECG health returns, and it only takes 3 or 4 hits to kill you

-The evidence lockup has been modified to function similar to RE7s bird cages/Evil Withins lockers. Acquiring the locker codes can get you extra ammo, health, and more.

-Typewriters used to save

-Defense knives from REmake 1 return

-Marvin Branagh has a larger role

-The RPDs shutter system from the original RE 1.5 Beta return

-Ammo can be crafted with gun powder, just like RE3 and 7

-Windows can be temporarily boarded up to secure high traffic areas (similar to closing the window shutters in the original game)

-Gore is dynamic. Each and every shot appears on enemies, and zombies can actively be dismembered with well placed shots.

-Damage the player takes remains on the character model, like bitemarks

-Map massively overhauled. While it will still feel familiar to returning players, each and every room has been completely overhauled.

-Jumpscares have been remixed to provide a new and unpredictable experience

-More of Raccoon City is explorable than before

-Characters who only appeared briefly in the original game may be more fleshed out
