he means don't keep the loaded magazine in the gun, especially not with a round chambered.

there's a stark difference in how lightsabers work in each movie just about

however, given that we've never seen a lightsaber cut something slowly, aside from a door, we can completely ignore the strength or force of the swing when it comes to combat.

though technically Vader chopping off Luke's hand was actually relatively slow, and from what would just be considered a glancing blow were it a normal sword, it was really just a flick, and just popped it right off.

That's entirely plausible even in the real world. Things like force of swing, hit location, angles, and degree of resistance mean that someone in a normal swordfight could potentially lose a hand (or arm) or not. No one attack would realistically do the same damage every single time.

they can cut through generally everything, but they can't just do it instantly.

blast doors are meant to withstand, well, blast fires. moreso on a ship.

take the first movie, it took qui gon like a minute to even pierce a normal door. the fact that the sister slashing the door left a mark on the inside of the door was kinda too much.

hell, even the movies are inconsistent with how lightsabers can cut in general. vader chops lukes hand off instantly, same for when anakins limbs get cut instantly, and yet we've also seen people just get real fucked up and not lose limbs when slashed with a lightsaber.

Bad opinion but it is my belief that you literally can not say Breath of the Wild is one of the best games of the generation and then claim Odyssey and Origins aren't. Odyssey and Origins literally offer a similar experience while also rectifying the issues BOTW has.

botw and origins/odyssey are not really comparable outside of "open world"

And you know that it wouldn't solve anything because...? Has it been attempted? I don't think so. No offence, but your argument doesn't make sense to me, it's not even really an argument tbh. If violent people have fewer means to be violent, then even if the behaviour or urge is still present, it won't be able to manifest itself as much, often or severe. Excuse my graphic example, but beating someone to death (in world were guns are outlawed) or simply pulling a trigger, are two very different things. This means violence would naturally drop if guns aren't an option.

All I really see is unwillingness to change, or even to try. It's sad :(

except that, if someone wants to cause violence, they absolutely will, as proven by, uh, fucking everywhere.

this situation is not unique to just america, regardless of how you keep trying to write your narrative. we have ample evidence of where guns are outlawed in other countries, and instead people go on stabbing sprees, or use other implements to cause havoc.
