| Bulbasaur 05/09/20 7:43:07 PM #39 | magemaximus posted... i am a rural carrier for the post office. i live in california, and there are some areas where there is no amazon center nearby, where they have amazon drivers, so the post office has to deliver those packages for amazon. the post office is already understaffed because some areas in california (like santa barbara) are too expensive to live in with a carrier salary. it has been crazy here. it is like peak season every day. mail volume is down, but parcels are up. peak season is when it is near the holidays, like xmas. you get a shit load of parcels for about two months. but it has been like that everyday since covid became a thing. also, UPS has had to unload parcels to the post office as well. we are all short. being overwhelmed with parcels is what makes some new carriers quit. we are trying to get everything delivered every day. everything. even it means staying out until 10 pm. the latest i have been out was around 10:15 pm. just give me my 50 gallon drum of lube --- plop |

| Bulbasaur 05/08/20 12:27:15 AM #18 | it's not that expensive well it's as expensive as you want to go, i guess i picked up a 10" from lodge recently, which is what alton brown uses on the new season of good eats. it cost me $30 and i have 0 complaints i wont say it'll replace a regular cast iron skillet entirely, though. the lodge ones have more flared out walls than i'm used to, and some things i use a cast iron skillet for, which traditionally has the nice straight up sides, just wouldn't work on this. also, edit: i have one complaint, and that's that the handle is fuckin' long as shit. --- plop |
