and that's a big part of why they're not really accessible

The movies are super easy to access. Usually everything you need to know can be summarized in one line

My gf watched the marvels having seen only captain marvel and was fine

My argument was just that inflation makes it harder to directly compare movies from 10 years ago to today. I'm not making any other claims beyond that.

And im saying there are factors that make it harder for movies in the 2020s to make the money of movies from the 2010s

An ending doesn't necessarily need to be happy for everyone.

But overall I'd say the bigger issue isn't so much about how they continued the plots of those characters. But everything else surrounding it. The two Spider-Man movies after Endgame did really well.

I didnt say it needs to be happy, I just said it needs to be satisying and the vast majority of characters arent satisfied

Inflation has a bit to do with that. Days of Future Past would have made more of it was adjusted for inflation.

Inflation plays a role but movies also make less now past covid/streaming. Theres less billion dollar films now compared to pre covid and grosses in general are lower. It doesnt help your argument if its debatable one did

Every here and there I see messages saying "MCU should have ended with Endgame"

On top of being a terrible business decision, it doesn't even work as a good conclusion for the MCU.

Iron man gets a great ending. Thanos conflict storyline gets a great conclusion. Steve rogers getting a good ending is debatable.

Wanda just comes back and her loverbot is dead?

Falcon gets the captain america title...and thats it?

The winter soldier finally gets to be free 100 years later...and thats it?

Hulk just lives as one armed professor hulk?

Thor is fat and a guardian of the galaxy?

We never find out rocket's backstory and Peter quill stays heartbroken? Gamora from another timeline just chills in this new one?

Ant man sort of gets a decent ending, gets his family back

Spiderman has one movie (as a 15 year old), comes back to life and thats it

Dr strange gets one movie and then sacrifices half of the universe for 5 years and thats it

I get if you want to step out of the mcu at that point but should have ended is a stretch when its only a good conclusion for just maybe one person

The funny thing is they could have taken that opportunity to take a break or slow it down and come back in a big way. They had the perfect opportunity to do that after Endgame.

But they just couldn't help themselves. The push for Disney+ content really made it a lot worse too.

They cant really wait. People age in real time. Might be rough to bring back the guardians, hemsworth, holland, etc 5 years later

Plus endgame really was a good conclusion to only iron mam and debatebly captain america. For everyone else its a mediocre conclusion

That's seriously the most baffling thing about this phase. It takes so long for proper follow ups. The original Avengers had a much better balance of sequels and crossovers.

Pretty much. No one should go 2 years without an appearance

Wanda is fine and shes "dead". Same with her sons
White vision done bad, just flew off
Agatha gets a show 3.5 years later
Monica is fine, got a movie 2 years later

Falcon, bucky, us agent and zemo done bad. No appearance for at least 4 years

Milena, taskmaster, red guardian done bad, missing 2+ years later. Yelena came back to hawkeye

Loki show squad done well. Follow up in 2 years

Shang chi is glaringly absent. The only ones to show up from thag movie again were wong anf abomination but they barely even count in that movie.

Eternals missing 2 plus years, leaving a universe altering and unaddressed plot detail. Even starfox, blade, and jon snow are missing

Hawkeye missing 2 years later. Kate bishop at least came back so thats good. Echo also came back which is something. Yelena still missing. How eacho got a project over yelena and kate is silly. Kingpin came back. So 3 out of 5 isnt bad

Spiderman still swinging around in new york. At least daredevil came back. No expectation or rationale for other spideys to return. Scoprion and prowler are still around and unaddressed. Same with venom piece...and i have no idea whats up with vulture

Yeah theyre slacking. Im lenient on 2022 titles and up, they still have time to have follow ups in a timely manner

Do I need to watch Ms. Marvel, the TV show?

No

Heres all you really need to know. Kamala khan put on a bangle, got stretchy light powers and is a huge captain marvel fan. Also at the end of ms marvel (covered in the marvels in the intro) ms marvel puts on the bangle and she vanishes but captain marvel appears where ms marvel was

thats it

It wasn't cheap, but honestly, fuck it. Once in a lifetime, refuse to feel guilty over it. Basically a flight/hotel package of about 4200 bucks Canadian (flying from Alberta), added in a 4WD Rav-4 (it's illegal to drive on non-maintained roads without), that was about a thousand for the week (half now, half on arrival, free cancellation up to he day prior, free GPS, unlimited mileage). Also full coverage insurance-wise as grit and sand damage due to the wind is common, 24/7 roadside assistance.

So far. I'm looking into doing ziplining, northern lights boat tours, among other things. Excited.

4200 how

From toronto i got a flight for less than 500 CAD in october and no way i spent 1000 for accomodation for 5 days

Blue lagoon is closed due to volcano. Sky lagoon is better anyways

Edit: blue lagoon re-opened

Anyways i had fun in my 5 days.

Day 1: landed and went to perlan museum. Has an ice cave, historic. I had q decent time, skippable but not bad if you go. Had food in reyjkavic, slept a bit. Went to dinner (expensive) then clubbing ( great night life scene but only 2 clubs and open friday and sat only)

Day 2: did golden circle, saw the place where the earth parted, saw the super blue river, the geysir and galfoss the giant waterfall. Went to skylagoon (my favorite), then bar hopping and a club.

Day 3: saw a waterfall you can go behind and one in a cave. Went to a small town called vik and went to a bar there

Day 4: went to another waterfall thats massive, one thats hidden then blue lagoon then a bar

Day 5: the giant church in reyjkavic, the penis museum and a local spa place (no sexy time in spa)

Day 6: whale watching then flight

Food is shit expensiveand not even good, just stick to gas station wraps
