When Spider-Man was first created, the Fantastic Four existed in-universe. I presume others did as well.

It definitely changes the narrative from Peter discovering that he has powers that nobody else does to discovering that he's one of many gifted people. Either one can work if it's written well enough.

I think the MCU skimped on his origin, but they kinda had to. Spider-Man's origin had already been told multiple times in the past two decades.

They did skip it but another spiderman had an origin movie within 5 years. I think an origin movie was a hard sell back then. Damned if you do, damned if you dont

Maybe i am not remembering correctly but it was stated that when someone that is a captain in aspidermans life dies, its a canon event. Seems like the closest thing for mcu peter is tony stark. Had an authority role in his life and the same dying position as the captain's of the others. Aunt may was his uncle ben/prowler/peter parker

Anyways Im not going to argue which spiderman is different but they need to be written differently.

Tobey/andrew spiderman are the first marvels of their world. The first meta-human of any kind

Mcu spiderman is in a world that has had many super powered being events. Hell his new york had 2 hulks fight, a robot invasion, and an alien invasion before he became a thing.

Its just different circumstances.

No he was not. This is a lie. Tobey looked like he was collecting a pay cheque and you can tell his limited emotional range from this movie. Now andrew killed it and this is coming from someone who doesnt care for his spidey movies.

Green giblin was limited to "heuhueheue im eviiiil. Bet u cant kill me peter" which was well acted but only 10 mimutes.

Dr strange was written to be an idiot and hurt his character overall

Electro got a good makeover but was still just jaime fox

Doctor octopus was fun but sadly not a villain long enough.

It's pretty awesome, yeah.

The part where Miles & Gwen are just sitting together upside down and it flips your perspective of the city was one of my favorite parts, getting a glimpse into something unique they do so casually cause they can.

Also the colors of the different universes was sweet.

I agree on that moment especially and it stuck with me. This movie really does take advantage of animated to do stuff that is difficult or impossible in live action. That was a stand out scene for me. Gwen really impressed me in this movie, she definitely got more spotlight. Hailee is such a beast. She was amazing in hawkeye and this (that and shes gorgeous).

Side note: was the captain who dies in mcu spiderman world iron man? Hes the closest thing

The raimi films are a product of their time. Good for the era and a special part in people's hearts from then...

....that said anyone who watches them after their time, rarely puts them high on their lists

These characters had next to no fans pre mcu and are now A listers due to the mcu. You may not like certain aspects but dropped the ball does not apply

I think what worked for me here that didnt in one was the removal of the side characters. I didnt care about spider pig, anime robot girl or even noir. I liked that they trimmed the fat but looks like they are all coming back

God, it has to be Iron Fist. Even if it's only partly connected right now, it was so awful that it deserves the title of worst adaptation regardless.

Also, I believe they have officially have been made canon to the MCU now.

This is not true. They became canon recently when daredevil new series wasnt working so they went back to netflix. Confirmed by vincent, thats why they only showed on disney plus timeline a couple months ago

I'd also cast a vote for Vision. He was way too powerful at the time of his introduction compared to the rest of the heroes, so every time there was a fight they had to come up with some reason he couldn't take part. He basically existed to be part of Wanda's character development and that was it.

The sad part is visiom was best in wandavision which isnt even vision really, just an imaginary one

That said as far as cliffhangers go, this was one of the better ones. See what miles becomes with no spiderman which leads to no dad

This is coming from someone who wasn't even big on into the spiderverse and thought it was one of the more overrated movies. I cant even explain why it didnt resonate with me outside of the miles/prowler dynamic.

The darker tone helps. I feel like there isnt one moment of filler. Spot works in a fun way. Miles family dynamic is the best of any spiderman. So many great callbacks to other spiderman moments. Gwens backstory was amazing. As a man of indian ethnicity it was cool seeing that part and I had an uncle who was literally Captain Singh, looks to the rank to name aha so that worked for me.

I think this tops no way home as my favorite spiderman movie (I get it, no way home was popular so its cool to hate on it now).

Im complely amazed by this. The ending was as good as cliffhangers get.

Initial reaction is 10/10. Im thinking its my runner up animated goat movie next to lion king

Up until today i wanted disney to take the spiderman movie license back from sony....now i just want them to take the live action license back lol. Sony isnt making a live action spiderman movie as good as marvel does anymore and disney isnt making an animated movie like this

I actually loved the first Fantastic Beasts, but I hated the second one and didn't bother with the third. The first Fantastic Beasts gave a sense of wonder and made the wizarding world feel like a world. The plot wasn't great, but it was sufficient for the kind of film that it was.

I hadn't been a big fan of the Harry Potter films because they never managed to capture me like the books had captured me. Admittedly, it's rare that I ever like faithful adaptations as much as the source material.

But yeah, 2 was trash and I hear 3 was also trash, possibly even bigger trash.

I could go on a tangent about the MCU, but now isn't the time, so I'll leave a brief answer. The MCU as a whole always had stinkers. Prior to Endgame, people just ignored or downplayed how bad some of the movies were. Now that many people are done with or tired of the MCU as a whole, films that would've flown by pre-Endgame now get trashed, sometimes moreso than they deserve to be. A lot of casual viewers are just tired and done after 30some movies or however many they have now, so mostly people who really want to hate the MCU and the loyal fans who praise almost everything the MCU puts out are the ones left talking about it.

I thought the magic was missing and yhe hogwarts setting gave life to the world.

As for the mcu, I think the biggest flaw has to be not having team up movies/shows to mask the lesser titles like the avengers movies did

Yeah it is. The last episode is just famously awful even compared to the rest. As far as I'm concerned that show is non-canon.

Current MCU isn't hated because it's "cool to hate on Marvel" these days, it's because they're actually just putting out a bunch of undercooked slop and expecting us to care about it. They don't care about making good movies or shows, just more content for us to spend money on.

There is a bit of its cool to hate on and infinity war hides a lot of mediocre titles prior to it

I was a fan of the harry potter movies growing up. It had been a while since I had seen the wizarding world, I decided to watch this instead of rewatching any specific movie....I wish I had just rewatched one of the movies as all 8 of them are better than fantastic beasts 1

Newt Schamander is a terrible protagnoist. Mumbles all the time and just made me miss harry.

Jacob plus flirty sister is a terrible forced romance. Tina had no real presence

Cgi is bad (for its time....and well now).

Newt and Tina were trying to protect Ezra Miller but the wizards came and blew up Ezra....and everyone was fine? Shouldnt Neet have been upset. Also wont hold it against the film but it is weird seeing Ezra with all of thr controversies to come (like I said, cant hold it against a movie for future actions of one actor).

Maybe a great movie can be made in this franchise with adults outside of hogwarts but this wasnt it. The setting of hogwarts definitely is key.

I think in the past the bad moments that happened were in execution and a lot of times subjective. I dont even think tiamut emerging out of the earth was bad...but not following up with it is really weird

In 2023 2 titles made crippling bad decisions that I still dont understand how they were greenlit and have hurt the mcu since

In secret invasion giving Skrull Daenerys the powers of everyone from endgame and making her the strongest on earth. You get emilia clarke...then give her a deep cut character and make her strongest on earth?

Ant man gang beating kang pretty pretty much killed the saga and then johnathan majors buried it. This would be like thanos catching a beating in guardians 1 and trying to hype him as the big bad.

As for communication, I'm down for communication if you honestly want to make it work. At the same time it does beg the question to go on a date, and the woman to intentionally start looking away to avoid paying the bill. Just like there are actions men shouldn't need communication to not expect certain things on a date, same should apply to a woman just expecting things like paying for shit.
