Watched Rise a few years back and really liked it, not sure why I didnt watch the others.

With the new one coming out I got motivated to watch this and damn this is even better

I went in blind and I was initially slightly disappointed to see it was years after humanity fell and not during the time it was falling. Ceaser is more likable in this and its cute seeing him as a dad. Can totally see why Koba would hate humans. There wasnt anything overly complex about it but it was effective.

Slight negative and not to be that guy but sometimes the cgi was underwhelming

Ive only watched 2 matt reaves films (this and the batman) and I really dug both so Im really digging his work. Will watch war and kingdom soon

Im not sure wether I land at an 8 or 9 out of 10, leaning 9 but solid ass movie. Better than rise which i liked too

most fox movies are complete, irredeemable garbage

when the previews pitched The Wolverine as him wanting to get rid of his powers, I skipped it without hesitation

the actual movie wasn't like that, but it also wasn't especially any good either

I think calling it mid is giving it way too much credit. barely qualifies as watchable

which does make it better than most fox fluff, but still

Fox stuff is so hit or miss but when it hits, it hits hard

Also im convinced wolverine was probably in as many bad movies as good ones.

Kradek posted...
Very forgettable movie, I barely remember anything from it.

Logan is easily the best wolverine movie, get hyped.

Competition isnt exactly high for it

It should have been R like Logan.

It absolutely should have been a Yakuza ultraviolent Japanese film akin to Infernal Affairs mixed with Ichii the Killer. Instead what we got was a very tame and mild PG13 film that wasn't terrible, but okay.

Yeah wolverine power set does require an r rating. Deadpool and wolverine should deliver

KitKats posted...
That film is a watered down cash grab.

Wolverine deserves better, and any decent work that respects the source material needs to be hard-R mature content. The man has fucking knives on his hands for weapons and is a berserker with healing ability. You cant showcase that kind of raw power and healing with kiddo gloves.

Yup

I had watched a lot of the xmen movies minus this, origins wolverine, dark phoenix and new mutants.

I enjoyed a lot of the fox-men movies and some I didnt. I figured this has decent reviews, stars wolverine and Ive never seen it so why not. This is generic hollywood blockbuster. Action isn't even good. Was there demand for a wolverine based samurai movie?

Tbh I think I really enjoyed shogun and I wanted to see Hanada play a samurai for the 4th time

If this was an MCU movie, it would rank close to the bottom of the 30+ movies

Im starting to think logan was a fluke as the other 2 mangold movies I have seen are this and the new indiana jones, neither of which are nearly as good as logan

Silver samurai was kind of cool and seeing the flashbacks of the nuke

Overall, there is nothing straight up bad...nor good. 5/10

I watched the 2011 one which I thought was solid. I think its called Rise, the first one was Ceaser

I also feel like I watched an old one as a kid in the 90s but not with full attention

I believe it goes

2010s trilogy> the new one that came out> old movies (2001 doesnt count)

I see nothing bit bad reviews for the old ones minus the first. A lot of times, even old movies with good reviews dont age well. Not sure I want to watch old movies with bad reviews

If you watched it dubbed, the dub is fucking terrible, if that makes any kind of difference. The Japanese voice cast has some legends in it and is stellar.

Damn this show was silly. I kind of like that they didn't try to hollywood-ize the cast and gave them goofy hairstyles. Even if the marine koby looks like the average gamefaqs user.

Luffy I had a love/hate thing with. His positive energy was welcome but damm did it get cringey sometimes.

I liked the second half more than the first half. I think the show really dragged during the butler episodes in the sick girls house.

The power of friendship is some how even more silly in live action than in anime. Some action scenes were good.

Mihawk was pretty cool. Would have loved to see more of him just slicing up people

Overall a 6/10, started ok, got kind of bad then ended good. I'd have some interest in a season 2
