Don't you just love how Chris is happy to have a reprieve, yet not happy enough since they're burning Eliza? He risks all the marbles by just changing the target to Leann to weaken Ami. In most other old school seasons, that move probably backfires. Here, he uses the target change as ammunition and takes out Ami's top lieutenant, and Ami should be highly thankful for that immunity necklace because it would've been her otherwise. Truly an innovative player.

And then of course, being a pathological liar, he's lying to his fiancee... and (reunion spoilers) would continue to lie to her when he got home. Instead of saying he won the million, he just said he got voted out in 7th like he thought he would.

Josh wasn't very good TV but he didn't seem like a bad guy.

I liked Josh. He was there to play Survivor and his reactions to John Rocker's gaffes ("I tried to save her. I swear!" and "Just so you know, I have an idol.") were priceless. I can see why he's been in the mix to return - sure, he's kind of a gamebot a lot of the time, but he's rootable despite it. Part of that might be because certain people in that cast were complete duds, like Quits McGee (boring + a quitter) and Wesley (necessary to get Keith there). Others took a second appearance to show a ridiculous level of awesomeness (though, let's be real, I am OG Team Wentworth) and others... were Alec. But hey, Drew Christy was epic casting because his trainwreck exit was beautiful, so I don't mind us having Alec.

I can see why Probst hates the Blood vs. Water concept. In an ordinary season, we'd have only gotten one of each pair, making Jeremy the only significant loss (it'd have been Natalie, Val, Kelley, Rocker, Josh, Jon, Keith, Drew, and... I'm not sure which of Missy/Baylor). Yes, it was confirmed that Val being there too is what sold them on Jeremy. Turns out Jeremy was much better casting!

I put him above Quits McGee. But him calling Baylor a brat to her face - more of an attack on Missy's parenting than anything - was poor social play and just showed the slime coming out of his skin. You can just see that slimy sweat on him. He was never a good guy. He was either neutral or pitiful or thinking he was a genius.

I'm glad Josh is no longer with him.

I wanna know which era is preferred. (this is also when I wish polls had twelve options to cover all twelve albums that matter. I decided that nobody would vote for their final album, We Can't Dance, and left that off... yell at me if for some reason you're voting for that.)

I'm one of the few who prefers Phil Collins as vocalist. The musicianship of Selling England by the Pound and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is fantastic and beautiful, of course, but Phil brings less of the odd, quirky British humour and more emotion to the table. I'd probably vote for A Trick of the Tail, personally.

Reed is a weasel. He just acts so... pompous and slimy. I don't know what Josh saw in him other than "fellow gay Christian actor." His "evil stepmother" speech was true at points, but was unnecessarily over-the-top and cruel. Missy DID spoil Baylor like a princess and suck at Survivor, but that doesn't make her a bad person.

Jenny's meltdown is pure insanity. She legit snapped. Her mentor, Jonas from One World, really regretted his lack of initiative at the merge, where he got voted out - "If you fail to make a big move against a power player, they'll be the one making a big move on you." With that in her head and a sudden snap due to the horrible conditions of the shithole they put the Brawns in (same as Angkor IIRC)... yep.

I cringed, too.

Drew Christy is one of the best early-boot villains in Survivor history. And I actually didn't like him in the first three episodes but his boot episode made him a legend and retroactively made his edit in the first three episodes awesome.

Drew Christy is the kind of guy I'd hate in real life. But his glorious trainwreck on Survivor was just too majestic. He was one of the most hysterically bad players the show has ever seen and his boot episode is so awesome because of the comedy gold. I love him as a Survivor contestant because he's so entertaining.

Drew Christy's exit is the only truly great pre-jury episode of SJDS. The others are all blah, including the merge episode (where Quits McGee left).

Things get good in the second episode of the merge, though, and keep getting better and better after that.
