Michel Bollinger (The House in Fata Morgana) - LAW fodder
Great character with good art but way too obscure to do anything. "Between Chester and Spring Breeze Dancin' in obscurity" is generally not something you want to be.

Exeggutor (Pokemon) - Mid fodder
Blue's got one in every lategame version of his team that doesn't include the Bulbasaur line and it's a kinda notably weird Pokemon in general. Gen 1 Psychic typing doesn't hurt.

Clefairy (Pokemon) - Mid fodder
I think it gets mentioned in connection with Mt. Moon several times and it uses Metronome in Smash? It's actually pretty good in RBY but you have to give it some valuable TMs for it to do much other than put stuff to sleep. Regardless, marginally notable for an RBY Pokemon is probably enough for mid fodder.

Winnie the Pooh (Disney/Kingdom Hearts) - Mid fodder
I think Tigger's the clear fan-favorite so the 2 tier gap made me skeptical but regardless I don't think Winnie the Pooh is quite gamefaqs's kinda guy. Being so well known and with the Kingdom Hearts connection to keep him mildly relevant to our interests could plausibly get him mid fodder but that's probably it.

What Super Mario Bros. 1 did was use scrolling to combine a large, somewhat exploreable game world with action game elements and essentially created the template for console action games. The likes of Balloon Trip scrolling before that point were nice but weren't even really playing in the same ballpark.

The Ghosts 'n Goblins arcade game came out only like a week later so platformers probably would have continued to exist and develop to some extent even without SMB1's influence, though they'd certainly have been less popular.

it was borderline but I dont trust traditional fighting game characters much outside the icons and 2020 suggested to me that however much they might have enjoyed certain fighting game franchises back in the day, the average gamefaqs voter doesnt really care what those franchises are doing now.

Darkwing Duck - low fodder

Im not convinced many on gamefaqs are watching the new Duck Tales series but maybe Im out of touch.

Axl - low fodder

Hes basically just in X7 (hated game), X8, and Command Mission but he at least looks like an MMX character. I think he avoids LAW.

Polygon - low fodder

the seizure episode and being the game corner prize make Porygon not totally obscure among Gen 1 Pokemon but I dont think people actually like the thing at all. If it had actually been strong and at least sorta worth the money and effort for more than just checking it off the Pokdex, maybe itd have something. did get evolutions in later gens but too little too late.

I was kinda close for me but the 20 year gap, the question of whether gamefaqs cares about the reboot, and the lack of any important gaming legacy (the 16-bit Animaniacs games are clearly not a match for, say, Duck Tales or TMNT) probably does the Warners in here and locks them in low fodder.

Theyre all in the same games and I dont think theyll vary much in strength. Theyve got their own personalities but these arent exactly deep rpg characters or whatever. Only question for me all high or all mid. We already ranked Ludwig high. Theyre playable in Smash and have notability outside it. I guess high but mid is viable too.
