This Mario variant has his own well-known game that stretches pretty far back into gaming history and he has Smash going for him too. Do people care? I think I came down pretty hard on Michael Myers a couple weeks back? I don't think Jason and Freddy will amount to much either but they're iconic and widely recognized in a way I don't think Michael is. They've still got horror franchises turning to crap working against them though. Would probably also help if the gamefaqs userbase was a bit older.

Toon Link - Near-Elite

Wind Waker is strong but people don't really like or care about Toon Link's other games. (I guess Minish Cap is good but kinda forgettable if you count that? He looks pretty toony in the official art anyways) I don't think the Link name is gonna be an insta-win either. It probably helps Dark Link a lot because he doesn't have a lot else going for him but if you want to climb to Elite strength you're on par with the most beloved characters on the site and I just don't think Diet Link is gonna be good enough. Personally, I'd also cut off Elite after Pikachu/Crono/Mega Man and yeah, I'm not taking the main of Wind Waker to get particularly close to the main of Chrono Trigger.

Tried to convince myself on mid fodder, failed. She might not be too far from mid but I don't think she makes it. The modern popularity of Fate seems mostly based on mobile games and anime and I just don't trust gamefaqs to care. Agreed that her being a tier below Rin might be odd but I'd blame that on Rin being too high.

While RDR2 sold great and got great reviews, there's this really weird thing people kept doing that goes "great game except for how boring it is to actually play." When push comes to shove, I'm skeptical how much people are really gonna care in contests like this, even on other sites. I don't think it generally losing GOTY to God of War despite having what should have been a much more advantageous release timing was a fluke.

RDR2's a year old at this point too; its not current. In general I'd assume Marston is Morgan's ceiling (Don't think RDR2's beating 1) and Marston looked borderline Mid-to-low in 2018 but you could argue he got SFFed by Kratos (he probably was at least a little?), so I'll be maybe a little generous and call Morgan mid fodder.

He'd likely beat Dancin, sure. Being worth 55% on Chester is not a high bar.

X-men was really big in the 90 and Gambit in particular was bizarrely popular back then and hit gamefaqs in what was most of its users' formative years, so therefore he might be worthy of some respect. Not too much, thanks to his lack of relevance since. Could see him flopping to mid fodder too, that would be quite reasonable.

I think expansive, serialized franchises in general are probably better than movies for giving a character lasting strength because of how they encourage prolonged engagement. People can look back fondly on the years they spent with X-men and how they thought Gambit was so cool back in the day even if they're not really into it anymore. For all meaningful purposes all Neo has is a movie trilogy of which only the first one is particularly fondly remembered. And even back in the day I'm a little skeptical how much people cared about Neo himself.

Hitler got 4chan's support in Rivalry Rumble, and while it wasn't enough to even beat Sora/Riku, it's not implausible that outside interference could put him over nowadays. He could easily perform worse than where I put him, sure, but there's also a (probably low but not nonexistent) chance he really catches fire and even win the whole thing.

The most accurate placement would probably be N/A, though. t ain't 2011 anymore and after Charlottesville and all of the attention the far-right has gotten, Nazis winning polls isn't necessarily going to be treated as just irrelevant trolling. I really don't think Hitler is going to be allowed back no matter what the nomination rules say. "Hitler voted gamefaqs' favorite character" would be a bad look for the site.

It looks like he's actually referred to as Space Michael in game, which along with the design probably doesn't help. Universally-known musician but he's at least sort of disgraced. Hard for me to really gauge this one when I've never really listened to non-vg music recreationally and can't entirely grasp how the average gamefaqs user might see it. I guess I'll just go with my own view that this isn't remotely the kind of thing I'd vote for and rank accordingly.

Kraid (Metroid) - Mid Fodder

He's prominent in one Melee stage I guess but I don't think anyone cares. Super Metroid is strong, Nintendo is riding high, and that's really all he has going for him because nobody cares about Kraid. And it still might be enough for mid fodder.

Most airports are already losing money. Don't think increasing the supply is gonna help with that. The long term trend is also a decrease in public airports so if anything we've probably already got more than we need.
