So, I wanted to get something before the Steam sale ends. I have never played any Splinter Cell or Max Payne games, and their bundles are on sale right now. But so is The Messenger, a game I am very interested in (I never turn down a good Metroidvania). So looking for opinions.

What kind of cheating? Like game saves where you switch serial numbers with another gamer's save so the system thinks it's yours?

Mostly dealing with online rankings afaik.

Still appears to be using peer to peer rather than dedicated servers though, which is annoying.

The really bad part is that they lock save backups behind the subscription. The only way you can backup Switch save data is through the cloud, and only while you have an active subscription. Its a baffling and terrible restriction that I hope gets rolled back.

I had better connections in Gears of War on a 512kb dl back in 2006 than I have on servers today.

So there's no way to save to a drive? No way to copy or dl?

Nope. The completely BS reason they gave was that its an anti-cheating measure. Of course every other game company has figured out how to let you backup saves for free, while avoiding cheating (even Nintendo themselves with the Wii and Wii U).

Think you have most of the big 2018 releases covered already.

I don't like Ubisoft games either but Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (and its Donkey Kong DLC) was a pleasant surprise, and very fun if you like Xcom style games.

Torna DLC if you played and liked Xenoblade 2.

Also never liked ME. Played through the first one, and disliked everything about it so much (story, characters, and especially gameplay), never touched ME2.

Morrowind is better than Oblivion and Skyrim.

The Prime Trilogy was the pinnacle of Metroid, with Prime 2 as the best of said trilogy.

Try not to worry if you have not figured it out yet. People change, plans change, circumstances change.

I spent 5 years prepping for military service (4 years JROTC and 1 year ROTC), then was denied due to medical stuff.

Had to change course on a dime and decided to pursue law. Got my prelaw degree, then the job market for that completely fell through around here (offices wanting 8+ years of experience, $9 an hour pay for paralegal work).

Now I am attempting to get into teaching here. Got all my tests taken care of, and about to start shooting out applications, as soon as I get back from visiting my ailing grandfather. Working for $13 an hour at a local grocery to pay bills in the meantime.

this. i've said it before. its not so much a gun problem as it is a mental illness problem. take the guns away and they'd find another way to do the same if not comparable amount of harm. don't put a band-aid on the problem find the source.

I love this counter argument. Name one other readily accessible way to easily kill a lot of people in a matter of seconds with little chance of them stopping you. How often do you hear of a mentally ill person killing 4+ other people through any other means? Because we have shootings about once a week. Sometimes several.

If it were discovered that mentally ill people were murdering crowds with mustard gas bombs made out of two ingredients you can buy at Walmart, those things would be pulled from every store shelf in the country and you'd need a work permit to buy them. But oh no, magical guns are exempt from analysis or criticism or restrictions because something something 2nd amendment tyrannical government murica

I mean, rifle clubs used to be a thing in the US, and kids used to bring their guns to school (my father did). People used to drive around with gun racks on their vehicles. The percentage of the population that owns a firearm is down. The Brady Bill and Thompson machine gun ban used to not be a thing. Despite all this mass shootings are WAY up, and really did not become prevalent until the 90s.

There is also the fact that other countries that allow their citizens to have firearms don't have these problems.

I am not going to claim every or any mass shooting is a result of mental illness, because I am not an expert. I do know that suicide rates have also exploded in recent years here, so we obviously have issues on that front. But I can't help feeling that, many are going after a symptom, rather than the disease itself.

I mean in my idea world, Rebels would have been handled differently, while Clone Wars would have continued to completion without the interruption. The 7-9 trilogy would have combined the stories of Mara Jade, Kyle Katarn, and Thrawn into a single story becoming its own thing. Basically Kyle vs. Thrawn with Mara Jade as villain who turns good after the 1st movie. I imagine it opening at the end of a battle between two imperial fleets with the loser being forced to surrender and submit to Thrawn as he goes about forcefully reuniting the Imperial remnants with Mara at his side (initially).

No wonder Lucas had the Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars declared non-canon - he was annoyed by just how terrible it made him look, by proving just how easy it was to do it better.

That series was only declared non-canon because it conflicted with the CG series.

No, its based on the IOS version unfortunately.

Its had several problems since launch, including 1 point where save points were made solid, and therefore unusable. They have fixed all the technical issues now, but it uses ugly health/atb bars placed right on top of the battle (for reasons) and does not have any of the additional PS1 or DS content.
