I'm pretty satisfied with the list, and I didn't play too many 2016 games during 2017 (aside from the usual January plays) but if I was making it today, I would make one switch, placing a game up and knocking one down that I thought was too high up in the first place.

New #7 - Stories: The Path of Destinies
Did you play Bastion and enjoy it? If you did, you should definitely check out Stories: The Path of Destinies. It's got a narrator that will make constant comments about the actions you take in the few levels that make the game, and has an interesting mystery to uncover before delving into a true ending path. Each path through the game is around 45 minutes, so it definitely doesn't wear out it's welcome. New moves are unlocked as you progress through the skill tree, but it's pretty hard to max any part unless you're going for the platinum (don't actually do this). I enjoyed my initial trips through the game and the true ending, and definitely recommend it if you need a nice short action RPG.

Most Anticipated Games of 2018

It was actually quite difficult to come up with a list for what's coming out in the future - I feel like most of the big 2018 releases that have been announced just aren't for me. Here's what I came up with for a top 5.

5. Atelier Lydie and Suelle: The Alchemists of the Mysterious Paintings - This dropped like a rock when I found out that it won't be dubbed, the first time an Atelier game hasn't received one since that weird DS game that came out. Sure shows how badly the Mysterious trilogy has gone for it - and I'm pretty sure most of the money they would have used for this went to

4. Dynasty Warriors 9 - I'm cautiously optimistic about this game - the dub sounds very strange after playing through these past games. Might actually switch to the Chinese dub here for a more authentic experience. I'm interested on how the open world will work here as I haven't been keeping up with most of the news about it.

3. Kirby Star Allies - Kirby is cute and his games are always very good. I do need to catch up on Robobot even if SiIvaGunner pretty much ruined the music from that game for me.

2. Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology - If you've been following this topic series since the beginning, you might remember that Radiant Historia was my pick for GotY 2011. There's no way I'd miss a remake that adds even more to the original game, for better or for worse. I hear there's also some DLC content added in, which is fine as well.

1. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory - I have this game already, and you can see from the 2016 list that I really liked the original game. A lot of reviews I've seen are saying it's very similar to the first game, which is perfectly fine with me. Very excited to continue this series.

First, all the games I wasn't able to play through this year, mostly due to time. Got a new job at the beginning of 2017 and did preparations towards purchasing a co-op apartment near the end of it, so a lot of games fell to the side. Here they all are:

Fire Emblem Warriors, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Warriors All-Stars: I got all of these on Christmas, and I don't think any of them would be able to be finished in a month. Especially a long game like Breath of the Wild - that might take up all of my summer this year.

The Caligula Effect: Never started it, and with a major PS4 port that fixes the issues with this game I might never will.

Dark Rose Valkyrie: I was interested in the premise (similar to Lost Dimension) but I've been having problems with my small hard drive on the PS4 and not being able to fit this one in.

Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth: One day I will catch up with this series. 2017 was not the year I managed to do it.

Gravity Rush 2: I was going to play this when I heard the online was going to shut down. Then it got extended to July a few days before I was going to, so I pushed it to the side again.

Horizon: Zero Dawn: Probably my biggest regret was not playing this yet, but I'll probably be playing it as I start posting the list. It's definitely next among the console games I want to play.

Pyre: I still haven't yet finished Transistor, either, and I would like to platinum Bastion before I continue on with these.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole: I wasn't actually planning on buying this until it got a nice sale price and I didn't find time to play it, which is usual.

Touhou Double Focus, Touhou Genso Wanderer: This double pack will have to wait until I finish some more of these dungeon crawlers that I've gone through before I start adding more of them in it. I think Double Focus is actually a platformer, but they came in the same case so whatever.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA: Finally, the NISA debacle that this game has suffered through is finally over (for PS4/Vita owners) and I'm actually interested in going through this on my Vita now. Now with less big holes than the original translation.

The last trophy in Hue requires collecting all the hidden beakers. I collected eight over the course of the game so there's still 20 left to find.

I'm at SSS in Haruka's requests. Very close to finishing that up finally, then I can start doing substories again.

I believe Picross had a limit too, but there's a way to cheese the system with that by changing the clock to redo the daily training over and over to get the premium currency to unlock stuff. Unless it's been patched in the last couple years.
