I'm at level 23 and dealing with the quests that match that, so that's what sort of spoiler level to expect here.

Just finished fighting the weird dream sequence giant snake. It wasn't as difficult as the Hyena boss, IMO. Still, I wasn't really expecting any sort of boss battles from this game, and it's neat how they've come up with clever ones as a change of pace from just sneaking behind people and assassinating them.

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2018/01/are-trump-and-kelly-heading-for-divorce

Donald Trumps relationship with John Kelly, his chief of staff, fraught from the beginning, may finally have gone past the point of no return. Two prominent Republicans in frequent contact with the White House told me that Trump has discussed choosing Kellys successor in recent days, asking a close friend what he thought about David Urban, a veteran Washington lobbyist and political operative who helped engineer Trumps victory in Pennsylvania. Ivanka is also playing a central role in the search, quietly field-testing ideas with people. Ivanka is the most worried about it. Shes trying to figure who replaces Kelly, a person whos spoken with her said.

Kellys departure likely isnt imminent, sources said. He wants to stay longer than Reince [Priebus], an outside adviser said. Trump can also hardly afford another high-level staff departure, which would trigger days of negative news cycles. This could be like [Jeff] Sessions, one of the Republicans explained, referring to Trumps festering frustration about not being able to replace his attorney general.

But the prospect of a Trump-Kelly rupture became more probable as news of their clashes over immigration leaked. Last week, Kelly reportedly infuriated Trump when he told Fox News that Trump had evolved on his position to build a southern border wall. Kelly further catalyzed Trumps ire when he told Democratic lawmakers that Trump was uninformed when he made his campaign promise to build the wall. The next morning Trump rebutted his chief of staff with a tweet: The Wall is the Wall, it has never changed or evolved from the first day I conceived of it.

Trumps anger at Kellys immigration comments is the latest flare-up in a relationship that has been deteriorating for months. A four-star marine general, Kelly was never going to be an easy fit in a West Wing with a Lord of the Flies office culture. Staffers have bristled at Kellys rectitude, nicknaming him the Church Lady, a former official said.

Trump has increasingly been chafing at the media narrative that he needs Kelly to instill discipline on his freewheeling management style. The more Kelly plays up that hes being the adult in the roomthat its basically combat duty and hes serving the countrythat kind of thing drives Trump nuts, a Republican close to the White House said. In recent days, Trump has fumed to friends that Kelly acts like hes running the government while Trump tweets and watches television. Ive got another nut job here who thinks hes running things, Trump told one friend, according to a Republican briefed on the call. A second source confirmed that Trump has vented about Kelly, mentioning one call in which Trump said, This guy thinks hes running the show. (A White House official said its categorically false that Trump is unhappy with Kelly. Hes only ever referred to him as the general, tough, can be rough, and commands respect.)

Kelly, in turn, has expressed frustration with Trumps freewheeling management style and habit of making offensive statements. In August, when Trump incited outrage with his Charlottesville comments, Kelly complained to a colleague that he was holding it together. The next month, cameras captured Kellys infamous facepalm at Trumps U.N. speech when Trump called Kim Jong Un rocket man and threatened to totally destroy North Korea. The New York Times reported that Kelly has threatened to quit numerous times.

Trump, for his part, is frustrated that hes not getting more credit for positive news like the booming stock market and low unemployment numbers. In recent days, he told a longtime friend that the national polls, which put his approval numbers in the low 30s, are under-representing the real number. Trump insisted his approval rating is in the high 50s.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/bankofamerica-no-more-free-checking-for-customers-with-low-balances-1516625715?mod=e2tw
Bank of America Corp. has eliminated a free checking account popular with some lower-income customers, requiring them to keep more money at the bank to avoid a monthly fee.

This month, all remaining eBanking customers with the Charlotte, N.C., lender were switched into accounts that charge a $12 monthly fee unless the customer has a $250 or more direct deposit or a minimum daily balance of $1,500 or more. Other eBanking customers were switched over as early as 2015.

Some customers are unhappy about the move: A petition protesting the change has garnered more than 45,000 signatures on Change.org.

James Prather, a 32-year-old freelance writer from Tampa, had one of the accounts for years until the bank switched him out of it on Friday. Mr. Prather earns less than $20,000 a year and doesnt get paid through direct deposit, so he expects to be charged the monthly fee. He wants to avoid that expense, so is hoping to move his checking account to a credit union that doesnt charge a fee. Im such a budgeter. Being poor, you have to count every dime that you have, Mr. Prather said.

The eBanking accounts were first introduced by Bank of America in 2010 when the bank was starting to encourage customers to do more business on their computers and phones. The accounts had no monthly fee so long as customers didnt use a bank teller for routine transactions and agreed to receive their statements online. At the time the product was introduced, customers were charged an $8.95 monthly fee if they used these services. Bank of America stopped offering the product to new customers in 2013. But those who already had the account were allowed to keep it.

The second largest U.S. bank by assets, Bank of America under CEO Brian Moynihan has transformed its consumer business, reducing the number of products available and encouraging customers to keep their main checking account with the bank. The lender has also cut its branch network, focusing on major urban areas instead of less profitable rural locations. The changes have made the banks consumer business more efficient and profitable, helping push Bank of Americas stock price higher.

For anyone who chooses us as their primary bank relationship, with a direct deposit of just $250 [per] month or $3,000 [per] year, theyll get full access to all of our financial centers, ATMs, mobile and online banking, a Bank of America spokeswoman said. Thats a great value and our client satisfaction scores are at all-time highs.

http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/370081-mcconnell-promises-immigration-debate-if-government-reopens

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday promised to take up an immigration bill protecting an estimated 800,000 "Dreamers" from deportation and allow an open amendment process if Democrats agree to reopen the government.

The Senate will vote at noon on a three-week funding resolution to end the government shutdown that began at midnight Saturday. The legislation includes an extension of the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Democrats have been pressing McConnell for a vote on the Dreamers legislation, and it is unclear whether his latest commitments will be enough to win them over.

With some Republicans expected to vote against the bill, nearly a dozen Democratic votes will likely be needed to clear a 60-vote procedural hurdle.

Senate Democrats and Republicans will try to negotiate an immigration compromise before the pending stopgap measure would expire on Feb. 8, if that stopgap is approved.

If they fail to reach a deal, McConnell promised he will bring an immigration bill to the floor in February.

But McConnell said his promise would only be good if Democrats agree to reopen the government.

Should these issues not be resolved by the time the funding bill before us expires on Feb. 8, so long as the government remains open, it would be my intention to take up legislation here in the Senate that would address DACA, border security and related issues as well as disaster relief, McConnell said, referring to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program started by President Obama that President Trump is winding down.

The GOP leader pledged this immigration debate will have a level playing field at the outset and an amendment process that is fair to all sides, he said.

Behind the scenes, a group of centrist Democrats and Republicans have been trying to work out a deal on immigration.

Democrats leaving a meeting of moderate senators on Monday morning said they are still discussing how to get a firmer commitment for a vote to protect young immigrants in the country illegally.

"We just need a commitment on that that's firm, that we know we're going to be on it, the question is how firm the commitment [will be]" said Sen Tim Kaine (D-Va.) leaving the meeting in Sen Susan Collins's (R-Maine) office.

Sen Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) said they need a "real commitment" to bring up an immigration bill.

No Democrats said leaving the meeting that they are changing their votes. Though when asked how he would vote at a noon vote on Monday, Sen Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) said he thought that vote could be postponed if negotiators need more time.

Republicans who attended the meeting said McConnell should have been more specific with his promise to ensure Democrats vote "yes."

"I do think it would be helpful if the language were a little bit stronger," Collins told reporters.

But she also gave McConnell credit, saying the GOP leader "had moved to accommodate the concerns that have been raised" about needing a commitment on immigration.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) predicted McConnell will make a "firmer commitment when it seems like it will matter."

"I think if Mitch were a little firmer as to 'we are going to move to immigration. ... There will be a process where everybody will be heard,'" he said.

Graham suggested that Democrats go to Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and tell him that they will vote for the continuing resolution if McConnell will use more specific language.

McConnell has said he intends to take up an immigration bill if a larger deal can't be reached by Feb. 8.

Here's another outlet that goes into more detail about the legislation at hand
http://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article195434409.html
Becerra said the state Department of Justice and the state Labor Commissioners Office plan to issue formal guidance to all California employers, public and private, notifying them of their responsibilities under a new state law called the Immigrant Worker Protection Act, signed by Gov. Jerry Brown last year that took effect Jan. 1. It seeks to prevent all workers, regardless of immigration status, from being detained at workplaces.

Authored by San Francisco Democratic Assemblyman David Chiu, the bill:

Requires employers to ask immigration agents for a warrant before granting access to a worksite.

Prevents employers from voluntarily sharing confidential employee information without a subpoena.

Requires employers to notify their workers before a federal audit of employee records.

Gives the attorney general and labor commissioner exclusive authority to enforce new provisions of state labor laws.

Prohibits employers from re-verifying information on employment verification forms, unless compelled to by federal law.

This basically prevents employers from retaliating against their undocumented employees when they get hurt on the job and seek worker's comp. It's good.

http://www.wbur.org/news/2017/05/17/ice-arrest-workers-comp

The end result here is making undocumented workers less attractive to employers by making it harder for them to just dispose of the workers if and when they stop being so exploitable.

the fact that conservatism is the "default" means that those who follow it are indoctrinated
