In the grand scheme of things, the ~35k people they're at is nothing, and the average donation is $56.64 which isn't even close to what they need. This one is certainly going to die out quickly.

Except I'm pretty sure the guy gets to keep all the cash, so it's doubly stupid to donate.

https://www.businessinsider.com/gofundme-campaign-to-pay-for-the-border-wall-has-raised-hundreds-of-thousands-of-dollars-2018-12

It's been two years since Donald Trump won the presidential election after repeatedly promising to build a wall on the US-Mexico border. Since the wall still hasn't been built and is, apparently, causing some trouble on Capitol Hill some Americans are taking up the cause themselves.

US Air Force veteran Brian Kol***e set up a GoFundMe campaign on Monday asking for supporters to pitch in to pay for the wall. In 48 hours, the campaign has already received more than $1 million in donations. More than 11,400 supporters have donated. At one point on Wednesday, the campaign was raising $1,000 each minute.

"If the 63 million people who voted for Trump each pledge $80, we can build the wall," the campaign's GoFundMe page reads. "That equates to roughly 5Billion Dollars, even if we get half, that's half the wall. We can do this."

In the campaign's description, Kol***e who underwent three amputations after he was severely injured during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004 wrote that he feels "deeply invested to this nation to ensure future generations have everything we have today." Kol***e also wrote on the page "too many illegals are taking advantage of the United States taxpayers with no means of ever contributing to our society."

---
The campaign description also says the fundraising efforts are capped at $1 billion because that is GoFundMe's maximum fundraising limit. Kol***e said he's working with the company to change that.

This is the latest effort by conservative Americans to find a way to raise money for the wall, for which Trump has been having a hard time securing funds. Just this week, Republican Rep. Steven Palazzo introduced a bill that would allow Americans to buy "border bonds" to raise the $5 billion Trump is asking for to build the wall.

Kol***e makes a reference to Palazzo's plan in his campaign's description, saying it is "one option" for the funds raised, adding that "there are others on the table being discussed." As the fundraiser nears the $1 million mark, Kol***e said in the post that "every single penny" will be refunded if the campaign doesn't reach its goal.

That last bit is the important part and was why there were used. The democratic party used that to push the idea she had an insurmountable lead over everyone else in an attempt to discourage votes for the other primary candidates.

It's a primary. The idea that people didn't come out and vote for Bernie because he "had no chance of winning" has as much evidence for it as people not coming out and voting for Hillary because she "had no chance of losing".

In N Out is fine.

Blaze is okay.

Mellow Mushroom wasn't good the time I got it, but it was a group function so maybe getting regular food there is different.

Fogo de Chao in the Harbor during restaurant week was the only way it was cheap enough for me to consider. Good food, but not something I justify doing often.

In a system without superdelegates, endorsements still exist and that's essentially what superdelegates are.

Except that hypothetically they could change who wins, despite never having done so.

To describe the 2016 primaries as "sham votes" is really to oversell what happened there. Election results weren't changed or altered; the Superdelegate process was just laid on top of it.

And lesser known candidates having to work against the party apparatus and a build up of endorsements on one side isn't really that new. It's part of the whole idea of "the party decides" which has been eroding over the years but still exists.

That's different than straight up not having a contest.

You still have to be able to physically perform.

Edit: To use an analogy from gaming, even when you have control of every frame in a tool assisted run, that doesn't make you capable of doing anything in a game, because there are still limitations based off the characters, controls, etc.

Since we've just gone full groundhog day here, why would you think I'd _never_ succeed?

Because I don't think you're currently physically capable of it, so no amount of resets is going to help you with that aspect. I also don't really think you'd learn enough from your short bouts to be able to outsmart him, since I don't think you have the physical ability to actually "play out" your master plan even if you could.

You're like "Lunatic mode is challenging because you have to infinitely grind dlc area for XP then curbstomp the whole game."

I mean presumably you believe that beating a level without losing a unit takes some amount of skill right?

Like if I gave you unlimited attempts to beat Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match, where you got to reset both of your stamina, health, etc. each time , there's no reason to think you would ever succeed.

Wtf are you talking about. You know there are games where if the PC dies it erases your save for you and makes you start over, right?

Like no one is suggesting that the alternative is that the game continues without a main character.
