It's the cards. It's sort of like those "holographic" cards that change depending on the angle you view them

GYib7MD

His cards are like that, except they look different from up close and from afar. Alyson sees different words than we do because she's close to them.

Im guessing its something like this, but not quite? Maybe more advanced cards? Because the camera shows the cards from different angles - but the words that Hannigan sees/remembers doesnt show up

How could Richardo understand that Penn & Teller knew what he was doing, by praising him the way he did btw? (You got it all ---> You got it!)

The music trick performed by that italian dude on Penn & Teller Fool Us

It was explained like the whole trick was him being charismatic, sort of. I didnt get it. I have a feeling it has something to do with at what angle you look at his cards? - if not, i didnt understand it at all >_<

I think his views about marriage is ... if not wrong, should be rooted/explained towards peoples grip on promise and commitment.
If societal pressure is what makes you stay, then what does the bond really mean? That extra chance? No escape?

I mean. If the promise to your/lover mate needs to be infront of others for it to be true, it wasnt true to begin with, regardless of religious persuasion? - so why is it that he uses the word marriage instead of promise when he talks about this? Is it that the love for a god should be stronger than for your spouse?

I think he is a really interesting guy! I listened to him on the Joe Rogan podcast and i found him REALLY interesting. Then continued to his youtube appearances. He challenges a lot of my views and i also agree with a lot of what he says. I disagree with stuff he says too, but at least he formulates his opinions in a way that you have to think WHY you think you do.

If you know who he is and agree/disagree with him, let me know! I will try to contribute more than just the opening

I havent seen/heard his debates yet (in mye queue) so if im wrong here, just let me know :) no need to flame? ;)

My opening would be: His views towards atheism. Im a non-religious guy. Non believer, basically.
I dont like the way Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins attacks religions. I think religions should be challenged, but... yeah, its difficult for me to explain, actually. If i see a religious person "bully" an atheist, i respond in the "opposite" way of the opposite situation.
Well, what Dawkins IMO does better than Harris is that he cherry picks less. But i think they both attack some kind of spirituality that they (and I for that matter) dont understand.

His (Jordans) views are a lot more complicated than the normal religious vs non-religious, though.
But to me, it seems that he makes the argument that if you move towards a more secular world, that we will suddenly forget past history? That the stories of old, that created the society will just be a rug, pulled from under us... then we will descend into the wild chaos, warned about in old texts.

I find his views about Europe and the EU interesting and i agree with him. Too many countries at the same time trying to be changed from the top-down - but i feel like he still holds that top-down control in awe?

Let me know! I find him interesting, so if you have an opinion, good or bad, please share it :)

(Non-english speaker + a little wine btw xD)

Anyways: was this an black people love chicken-joke? Or is it some other part of your culture that i dont know about? Like the white house having KFC fridays or something?

And if it was a black joke, did it receive any backlash?

Ive been working in the elevator business for 11 years now. It seems like the profession becomes more and more work-alone oriented. And im getting a little tired of only working by myself and the mechanics and the electrics of it all. Although i have a great time at work when i work with others, im way too much alone during most days

Im considering studying electrical engineering, but im a bit hesitant. I dont want to end up with the same problem i have now

My understanding is that its a broad field, where you have loads of different specializations. Im going to talk it over with a guidance councelor ive contaced, but for now im just trying to get a lay of the land :)

I live in Norway and i realize it might be some differences from country to country, but i think that in general, its same same

Thanks for the help!

I just dont know how to fix it, im hoping you guys might know

So he exited a game and suddenly the screen turned greenish.

I noticed that on the color settings (right click desktop screen, then graphics settings, then colors) that where the color red is supposed to be, it was black. The green color was almost yellow and the blue was blue.

Anyways: When changing the blue and the green colors (theres a slider), the screen started to look different right away, but when i did the same with the red slider, nothing happened.

Does this sound like software or hardware to you guys? He has tried system restore to an earlier date, without luck.
We tried opening up the laptop to get to the plug connected to the screen, but we gave up for now, since that casing was really hard to remove. Might check out this later, though

We have tried connecting it to a TV with HDMI and there it works perfectly (have yet to check if that red slider does anything there, i will ask him to check that out asap)

Thank you in advance ^_^

I think it was very good. I havent watched the old movies, but ive bought them and theyre on my queue (1 and 2, heard i should stay away from 3)

I think they did a REALLY good job until the real Alien was born. The end was way too predictable and the actions scenes were too long IMO

I really like how they handled the idea of an AI (or several, for that matter) and what philosophy someone who doesnt need to think about death might have/get.

The build up and the scenes about the first "aliens" were excellent.

Much better than Prometheus IMO, i found that movie to a bit boring

Didnt read the book, but damn, it was a powerful interview. I kinda had your thoughts before it, but that changed me.
My understanding is that for those who are on that path, they feel horribly guilty and they feel like they are a burden to everyone around them. And that ending it, will not only solve their own problem, but everyone elses as well

It might be selfish, im actually not going to debate that. But what i can tell you is that for many, they feel its more selfish to not leave. And going against human instinct and go through with something like that, i do think that the person deserves a little sympathy. The thoughts during that path, cant be easy!

Hey Harpie. Im really sorry to hear about this. It seems that you handle the people who are dicks in a good way, but what kills me is that you say you only have Gamefaqs to lean on :(

Im not a religious person, but from my understanding, they do have a great support system for things like this. You might be better off going to some kind of religious facility that are open to the support you might need. They often think and deal with death a lot more than the average person.
Or call some suicide help line and tell them your dealing with grief and ask if there are communities nearby that you can casually join, even if its just to deal with it. No commitments attached
Or use some of the people here who said that they have been through it too and want to help!

I cant imagine dealing with something like this on my own :/ So i really hope you find someone to help you deal with the pain!

Best of luck!

Haha, funny questions. Lets say he enters an elevator and put down his hammer, what would happen if the elevator isnt "allowed" to lift it? Will it just wreck through the floor and crash into the pit? Or would the elevator just not be allowed to move upwards?
Or is the magic part of the hammer so that it only applies to when people try to lift it?

The elevator doesn't lift the hammer, it just moves things up and down. If the elevator couldn't move it up and down as part of its function as an elevator then the Helicarrier would also plummet from the sky whenever Thor sets his hammer down. The more interesting question is the crane.

It does lift, but since you have an example that actually answers the question, i agree with the conclusion. That if it doesnt affect the helicarrier, when he puts it down there, it wont affect the elevator either

I havent seen what you reference, but im going to assume its a real example ;)

I think ive only seen the first movie (thats where the hammer is in that military base, correct? One would assume that these people have done everything in their power to move the hammer, so cranes and forklifts would probably have been tried, dont you think? Even if we dont see it, its not hard to imagine that theyve tried a lot of different techniques. Not just: Nope, i cant lift it up with my hands, so lets assume its not moveable xD

In the movie they tried using a truck and chain to tow the hammer and it still didn't budge. So crane is most likely out too.

I wonder we if you put something like a piece of metal under the hammer and then used the crane on the metal instead. Seems it'd be more like an elevator that way.

I'm guessing directly trying to pick it up and or touching it are where the problems come in.

I wonder if intent has anything to do with it. Like if someone got Thor on the helicarrier with the intent of taking the hammer, would it plummet from the sky once you succeeded in separating Thor from the hammer?

Couldnt it be the case that it doesnt weigh more because of that intent, but it will just glue itself to whatever surface its on?

Yeah, good point. I wasn't thinking of a KO from pure exhaustion.

Yea, Mayweather definitely doesn't have the one punch KO power like McGregor but that all those pitter patter shots are going to add up.

It will be interesting to see how much of that MMA power that translates to boxing with those 10oz gloves. Ive listened to Chael Sonnens podcast and he basically says that Mayweather is the harder hitter, even though it doesnt look like it. (different sport)
Im not interested enough in boxing to have a strong opinion on the matter, but its sounds very plausible that it might be the case

Or its Chael being Chael. Have any other fighters commented on this?

Mayweather wins by tko within 7. He then fights Khabib in Russia and gets absolutely murdered. He either retires or does Diaz 3 with a Nate Diaz who hadn't fought in over 2 years.

Do you know where i can find the two fights that Mayweather had with Diaz? There seems to be little trace of them on the internet

Im just kidding, i understood what you meant ;)

I agree with you. I think Mayweather will win. I think McGregor will win over Khabib, though. Unless he gets seriously injured by this boxing match

I can't see it. Sure, Khabib is no where near as good at striking as Conor but his wrestling is insane and I can't see him defending the takedowns. MJ has far better TDD but Khabib still took him down at will. I honestly see him ragdolling him. If they give the fight to Ferguson instead I got Ferguson winning as well. Bigger, more dynamic version of Nate Diaz.

MJ proved that Khabib is hittable and i think he will have a harder time with the hands of McGregor. Diaz 2 + Alvarez showed that Conor has really improved his TDD. I dont think its enough to counter the wrestling skills of Khabib, but i think Khabib will be more hesitant because of McGregors power. Time will tell ;) You might be right, but this is how ive analyzed it

Its the next title fight for that division, it seems. McGregor has apparently told Dana that he wants Khabib next, in Russia. I dont think ive read about McGregor not being a man of his word

He would have been in his 30s.

Although I'm not sure what record you are referring to.

Yeah, i was thinking that too. It doesnt look like it happened when he was 12, as my parents claimed - and he is basically gone until he returns at the age of 30 (or something. Havent read the bible, just what ive heard)

Anyways:
Jesus’ first cleansing of the temple is described in John 2:11–12 as having occurred just after Jesus’ first miracle, the turning of water into wine at the wedding in Cana. John makes it clear that it was “after this” that He went to Capernaum, where He “stayed for a few days.” Then in the next verse (verse 13), John tells us that the “Passover of the Jews was at hand” (NKJV). These verses trace Jesus’ movements over a short period of time from Cana in Galilee to Capernaum and eventually to Jerusalem for the Passover. This is the first of the two times Jesus cleansed the temple. The Synoptic Gospels do not record the temple cleansing mentioned in John 2, instead only recording the temple cleansing that occurred during Passion Week.

The second cleansing of the temple occurred just after Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem the last week of His life. This second cleansing is recorded in Matthew, Mark, and Luke but not in John. There are differences in the two events, aside from their being nearly three years apart. In the first cleansing, temple officials confronted Jesus immediately (John 2:18), whereas in the second cleansing, the chief priests and scribes confronted Him the following day (Matthew 21:17–23). In the first event, Jesus made a whip of cords with which to drive out the sellers, but there is no mention of a whip in the second cleansing. So there are two recorded occasions when Jesus cleansed the temple—the first time at the beginning of His public ministry, and the second time just after His triumphal entry into Jerusalem shortly before He was crucified.

From https://www.gotquestions.org/temple-cleanse.html
-----------------

Outside of wikipedia, this was the first page that came up when i googled. Beginning of his public ministry is probably a huge hint. Does anyone know his age at that point?

Had an discussion with my parents who say that it was at the age of 12, but with a little googling it looks like thats when he was brought to the temple and stayed behind, talking to scholars and priests or something

Tried reading a little, but its not really my kind of litterature, so hoping you guys have the answer that i couldnt find. (closest i could find is that it happened right after he turned water to wine, but couldnt find his age when that happened either)

None of us are religious, but its a cool topic regardless ^_^

Depends

No it doesn't. Man is stronger than woman.

Not always

In what universe can a woman take down a grown man in a fight to the death, with no weapons. I love women, but I'm sorry. No.

A trained female fighter would have no problems killing an average man

TopicAlien: At the end of Prometheus....? (Probably spoilers)

So a couple of weeks ago i watched Alien: Covenant on 4DX Cinema. Great experience ^_^ and i liked the movie too! I hated 3D, mostly because of having to wear those glasses, so i was sceptical. I see myself going to more 4DX movies =)

Anyways, at that point i had no idea that Prometheus was its predecessor, so i went in blind. I have actually never sat through a whole Alien movie, so i guess i went in really blind :P I have seen Alien vs Predator (is the AvsP a different universe? If not, are the Engineers connected to the predators in some way?), but other than that ive managed to let the movies escape me.

Tonight i decided to watch Prometheus and i was left with a lot of questions, really. I was hoping you guys might help me out with a couple of them =)

At the end of Prometheus, a ship flies off as the monologue plays that this is a dead planet that should not be visited. That leads me to believe that Shaw took off with David and set course for the Engineers. The area in which the crew enters the caves/ship looks a lot like the area in Covenant. Is it the same place? Did they return, or is it a different place and it just looks the same because thats how the Engineers construct things (their style or something?) - or maybe its Davids construction in Covenant, part of his "art"?

Why are the Aliens so different in Covenant? In Prometheus, the ones that gets out of Shaw looks like a squid, but its more reptile-y in Covenant. Is it because of Davids engineering? And that "real" Alien at the end, is that because of it being bred inside an Engineer?
And what happened to that guy that turned into a Zombie (the guy who were blasted with lasers and flamethrower, because he wouldnt die)? Thats the guy who got the "snake" in the suit, right? Why didnt it lay an egg to produce an Alien instead of turning him into a Zombie? There seems to be so many ways of getting infected, like the organism is a little random?
In Covenant it was breed in that dark stuff, let the Alien eat itself out - in Prometheus it was kinda harder to know how this stuff works - is there a good explanation for this? =)

I think Covenant was better than Prometheus, but maybe thats because i just watched it and havent had time to think about it. If you think Prometheus is better, i would love to know why you think so ^_^ Maybe ive missed something.

How does the older movies stack up? Are they worth watching, or do they feel outdated if you havent seen them before? They are the sequels, correct?

No. Walking around not knowing what the fuck to do is boring.

Sheesh, how do you survive anything in life if you can't figure out simple Zelda puzzles? Dropping you off 5 miles from your house would a death sentence to you.

I'm smart and would be fine. Just because I don't like boring ass games doesn't mean I can't function.

So what games do you like?

That you need to warp over to Mother and child isles to get the ice and fire arrow, which is needed to continue the story?

The tips given by the boat was something like Look for pirates that roam the sea -or something

I checked out almost every island looking for pirates. I almost got angry when i found out i needed to warp to an Island i could sail to, just to get underneath it, because i had to read a guide to get there.

So my question is: Are there any hints given in the game that i have missed? About using the Ballad of the gales to transport you to this special place?

Sales tax for food in Norway is 15%. Its 25% for basically everything else, though.

Im not sure about burger joints, but just working behind the register at convenience store gets you 17.58 USD per hour. We also have 5 weeks paid vacation as standard over here :)

I think the average person use around 10-15% of his/her salary on food, which is a lot less than just 20-30 years ago. The cost of houses and appartments have skyrocketed, though
