The shopping cart is the ultimate litmus test for whether a person is capable of self-governing.

To return the shopping cart is an easy, convenient task and one which we all recognize as the correct, appropriate thing to do.
To return the shopping cart is objectively right.
There are no situations other than dire emergencies in which a person is not able to return their cart.
Simultaneously, it is not illegal to abandon your shopping cart.
Therefore the shopping cart presents itself as the apex example of whether a person will do what is right without being forced to do it.
No one will punish you for not returning the shopping cart.
No one will fine you or kill you for not returning the shopping cart.
You gain nothing by returning the shopping cart.
You must return the shopping cart out of the goodness of your own heart.
You must return the shopping cart because it is the right thing to do. Because it is correct.

A person who is unable to do this is no better than an animal, an absolute savage who can only be made to do what is right by threatening them with a law and the force that stands behind it.

The Shopping Cart is what determines whether a person is a good or bad member of society.

I feel this is in the same vein as saying if you have nothing to hide you should talk to the police when any lawyer will tell you don't talk to the police ever even when you're 100% innocent.

Do I think Trump has something to hide? Absolutely. I don't think everyone who pleads the fifth does, however.

This is 100% accurate.

Never, never, never talk to the police (or someone investigating in this case) without first consulting a lawyer (who will most likely tell you to not talk to them.)
Even a candid "off the record" conversation to your "friend" officer Bob who is helping out coaching the t-ball team can be used against you.

what difference does it make if the actor was a rapist? is the show all of a sudden less funny after the fact when you previously found it funny and enjoyable?

im not condoning his actions in any way, shape or form as theyre of course deplorable. a show or movie shouldnt all of a sudden suck because you found out about one actors bad behaviour

This is a tough one because on the one hand there are other people (maybe 100's) who worked and contributed to the show.
Should their contributions and work be invalidated because of one crappy person?

On the other hand you have a show like the Cosby show where I don't think there is any way you could watch it and enjoy it now (at least I couldn't)

Sometimes it takes one person to really ruin it for the rest of us.
